    • Wonder how the first guy even figured it out. That specific part of that specific flower, bet it'll go good in my dish ay

      • Not that hard. People have eaten or tried to eat just about every item or substance known to man. In this case, the first guy was probably looking for an answer to 'the question'

glad we don't live in that time anymore. I bet a lot of people had to die before they figured out how to do Fugu correctly. I also wonder at what point or how many people have to die before they decide to stop trying (e.g. how many people died eating fugu before they figured out a method to remove the poisonous part).

        • @Name: Many Bothans died to bring us that recipe

      • What about Foie gras where the liver of a duck or goose fattened by force-feeding corn with a feeding tube, a process also known as gavage!

    It's a shame country of origin isn't Australia http://www.abc.net.au/news/rural/2018-04-13/saffron-worlds-m…

    • I was surprised to see this on TV. I never knew these guys existed.
Next time around, I will give them a go and see how they are http://www.tas-saff.com.au/buy-saffron/
Shari, @Saffron-Store - what is your opinion on these guys ?

      • You can see how Australia can't compete in the saffron market if those are the average prices, 13 times the price to get it from an Aussie vendor just isn't competitive.

        • holy balls, $80,000/kg

        • @cathole: $80,000 huh? … so if I bring a 1kg bag of it to work I'll get promoted at Westpac?

  • Is this an investment tool?

    • +4

      Yes. Massive returns as well!

      • better than a high yield investment car?

    I'm just mad about saffron.

Aldi products suck. This is not premium saffron and cheap for reason. U can buy 1g premium saffron online for $7-$8 or $65 for 10 gram.

  • I got 100 bottled A grade Saffron from Iran, each 2g. Going for $18.99!! Deal on bulk.

It's probably just yellowcake dyed red. Expect to get a few agents knocking on your door.

  • gonna eat paella for 6 mths.

    thanks op.

  • Don't exactly recollect the price but it was 10-15 times cheaper in Indian store than woolies. I bought it a month or so back from both woolies then in an Indian store.

  • Did anyone find it in Aldi today? I didn't see it.

    • Yes just bought at Arndell Park, was opposite to the drinks.

  • Picked up 6 yesterday. Thanks
