I bought a pair two days ago when they were $7, they have now been reduced to $5 not sure how many units remaining as it is marked as clearance. I picked them up earlier today and they have a hard outer shell and comfortable inner foam lining. Great buy for $5 as they normally sell between $18-$25!

I think you want some proper CE level stuff…
this will crack on heavy impact, meant for just supporting your own weight. I would highly advise using actual motorbike gear to protect yourself.

Motorcycle jeans exist, just fyi. They have kevlar and nylon in areas to give you two more seconds of road rash before it cuts into your skin. But your point stands, prob using normal jeans.
Plus they have double overlaid double stitched seams
Get some purpose built jeans. I use Draggin jeans which has inbuilt knee protection and looks just like normal jeans.
