    Wish this had Displayport as an output and not just HDMI..

    • +3

      Or 1Gbps Ethernet instead of the SD cards (yes, I know - meaning for the same price!)

  • +3

    Add Ethernet and Display Port I'd gladly purchase

    • +12

      and a USB-C for passthrough charging.

      • +37

        Plus 500GB of SSD storage onboard. Because 1TB would just be asking for too much.

        • +36

          Plus graphic card like the GTX1080

          @boohooimissout:
          I don't get it, what is the point? The device didn't come from Xiaomi and don't have band 28! No deal!

        • @boohooimissout: Nah, a 1080TI is better for mining.
          So to summarise we need a device which looks like this, but has:

          -> 500GB of SSD storage onboard
          -> USB-C pass-through charging
          -> 1gbit Ethernet
          -> Display Port out

          And we want it for AU$21

          I'll create a patreon account for it and post the link here shortly.

          @idonotknowwhy: dont forget to also add 3d printing functionality so we can make more of these and not worry about warranty.

          @dabell:

          i think it must have a time machine built in .

        • +4

          No product is complete without 8 Eneloops

        • @Kapitoshka:

          Or coloured eneloops

          Damn ^^^ beat me to it.

        • @boohooimissout: must be Ti version or no deal

        • @yeohkt: What, in that funny looking thing?

        • @Kapitoshka: the people from the confucious institute only promote xiaomi.

        • that's a better product!

    • I think adding ethernet would make it too tall. Would like USB-C passthrough charging though.

  • Will this work on regular USB3.0 with an adaptor. (obviously with no video)

    My day was lovely, thanks for asking.

    • +1

      Asking about grammar here. Should it be "was" or "is"?

      • +2

        depends on the time of day. If you're still going on with your day it is 'is' if it has finished and you're at home chilling it's 'was'.

        • "How are you?" Can be used anytime of the day.

  • +6

    4K on this is 3840x2160 @ 30Hz instead of 60Hz sadly…

    I'm afraid to click the checkout button because it'll go down to $15… haha just joking, Good deal OP!

  • Haha so lucky did not get it on Saturday. My day is soooo good.

  • I paid a hundred dollars for something like this when the new MacBook came out, from some random brand. It didn’t always work if you bumped it. But it had pass through charging.

    • Even the geniune Apple one isn't that stable, full of complains…

  • Any with just a USB 3 hub?

  • Has anyone tried it on a Nintendo Switch?

    • I read on Amazon.com that someone did just that, successfully I might add.

  • anyone any recommendations for one with 2-3 display outputs? Seems to be hard to find

  • +3

    I was about to get one and saw this review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TThqrZHMen4

    • +2

      Quick summary: The SD card reader on this hub reads at 20 MB/s (USB 2 speed). The USB 3 ports on this hub read at 40 MB/s. In contrast, a Kingston USB 3 SD card reader reads at 140 MB/s.

  • Can I use the $10 voucher from signing up with Audible for this? Or that's only for US site only?

  • Can this be used to extend display of a Google Pixel 2 XL phone to an external display e.g. a monitor?

    • +1

      No - Pixels don't support alt mode.

    would have preferred the ones without a dangling wire

    like this one https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07B6MPF7H/ref=ox_sc_ac…

    • That may look silly depending on where abouts the C port is located. And it would not be useable on a desktop due to all the other wires sticking out from neighboring ports. Even on a laptop, you might not have space next to the C port if other things are connected.

      Also, the C port has to bear the weight of the dongle and attached devices. It might be ok, but a cable is safer.

    Does this support Samsung dex for s9??
    I was thinking of buying this but just saw a YouTube video showing people using 3rd party hub for dex.

      Just want to head up tip anyone purchasing this for their Samsung phones. I found the USB-A fast charging speed inefficent to keep the dex mode from draining my phone while plugged in. Require a USB-C 30 Watt Charger to be able to charge at the same time. Lucky i had a spare USB charger with that feature :)

      • So this does support dex mode for Samsung?

        • Yes it does

  • It should be power by Eneloop!

  • Upvote for description, it's always nice when someone asks how my day is
