Just a reminder for everyone, some stores still may stock the $100 card with a $5.95 fee. You Must get the one with a $6.95 fee to be eligible for the JB card.

The fee can be found on the corner of the EFTPOS card.

    • If anyone accidentally bought the $5.95 fee ones, feel free to try and let us know if it works.According the full T&Cs,it does not mention activation fee, just denomination. It requires card numbers(instead of barcode numbers) to redeem this time.Things might be changed as reward issuer is Blackhawk, not Woolies Rewards.

The $5.95 fee ones' card numbers also start with 5021 2510.

Yep, they work. Bought $6.95 and $5.95 in same transaction. Both got me a JB gift card

        • Thanks for confirming it.

    • Just reported this comment to be edited with the information in Coops1's comment, then realised that the deal had expired (i.e. not so important to update the info).

      Sorry mods lol

  • -8

Wtf first time I've heard of a purchase fee. Outside of this deal, you'd be paying more for less. LoL

    • +14

What's funnier is that $3 is worth putting $100 cash into a silly eftpos card?

This isn't a bargain to me. $3 for this effort seems like it should be nowhere near this site.

      • But if you use discounted gift card you’re saving $8.

        • Yeah but even that is a risk because by right you are not supposed to use a gift card to buy a gift card.

        • +7

hey, he doesn't want free money, just let him be.

        • -1

But if I work on the corner I get money for free?

        • -5

@googoogaga: This is a fantastic test to see how low of a person's life must be to actually think this is worth the time.

        • +2

@StoneSin: its great you think that way. Less competition to get the cards. So I will not be trying to convince you why this is a deal. Have a good day!

        • +4

@StoneSin: its not a matter of whether it is "worth the time" … Bargain hunting is a fun hobby, its not all about what you make in $$ from a hobby.
Btw. You spent time posting comments and got paid nothing so technically your time is worth negative$
          Lol.

        • +1

@googoogaga: how is this free money? All ur getting is a $10 jbhifi gift card for $2 at best. Fair enuf ur that floats ur boat but it’s not exactly a cash giveaway. Ud probbaly make more out of seagulling shopping Trollies at the supermarket for $1-$2 coins to be honest.

        • -1

@googoogaga: No worries. If there is competition to get the cards and you still try, that makes me think much less than what I thought a second of you.

        • -3

@ozzpete: No it is a matter of whether it's worth the time. You can get a free $3 somewhere else for much shorter times. You don't need to convince me, that's impossible, this is not a deal and that's the objective description.

        • @Gavman: JB Hi Fi card $10 for $7 actually Gavman. It's not free money and it's not a deal.

        • +4

@Gavman:many uses for eftpos cards that I don't care to explain.

People who know the uses for Eftpos cards will think this is a great deal because you are basically getting $10 jb hifi gift card for free because you were going to purchase the eftpos card anyway.

The less competition to purchase these cards the better.

        • +2

@googoogaga: Don't even hint that there are uses!

        • @StoneSin:
I'm a low life that took full advantage of this deal.

I reckon I profited more than what you'd earn in a week or even a month.

Will be going on a shopping spree at JB very soon.

Well worth the time and effort for me

          Low lifes rule

        • -3

@hellohello123: If you want another $3, you can wash my car in it's entirety. It's a bargain according to you.

        • @StoneSin: The Profit was $8 = MR points.

        • -1

          @StoneSin:
You should hand in your OzB licence if you don't know about using 5% WISH e-giftcards to purchase giftcards in woolies.

        • @Turd: Nope. $3.05.

        • -3

@googoogaga: Nope. I just know real bargains. So it just means I'm on a higher tier of licensing to you. That's a shame.

        • @StoneSin: How is it $3.05 please explain.

        • -3

          @Turd: >Bonus $10 JB Hi-Fi Gift Card with Purchase of $100 EFTPOS Gift Card ($106.95) @ Woolworths

          100 + 10 - 106.95 = 3.05

Math not your strong point I guess.

        • @StoneSin: Oh ok. Because I got back ($8.05 + 305.85 MR points) per card. But it's only for max bargain hunters to save for a Sydney House Property. All good, more for me. :) Thanks

        • @Turd: I don't mind if you combine other deals with this post. That doesn't change the fact that this is a $3 post.

You don't see me posting that I got 20% off Ebay items when buying the cable that goes to my headset, so therefore my headset is 20% off.

        • @StoneSin:

It was an $8.40 post if you had the ability to use your 5% off gift cards which I did and many others, plus points on CC etc.

        • @StoneSin:

haha, Im not even ozbargainier genious, but if after reading all of this and you still think the profit is $3.05 yo uare truly doing it wrong,

lets say the profit I made from this deal in cash equivalent terms was that of a second hand small car

        • @hellohello123: Some people dont see the value in small change. Dont waste your time arguing telling them otherwise. Saving $3 is a lot. To some it isnt.

        • @hellohello123:

haha, Im not even ozbargainier genious, but if after reading all of this and you still think the profit is $3.05 yo uare truly doing it wrong,

Nope. See the math above. :)

lets say the profit I made from this deal in cash equivalent terms was that of a second hand small car

Yeah I think you can get a few hotwheels cars second hand for $3.

        • @Turd: I see the value in small change. That's why I care about how fast I earn the small change. :)

It's your choice if you want to waste your time on $3, that's why I asked if anyone wanted to wash my car, as it's clearly worth it.

        • @treeman: Nope treeman, it's $3.05, see the above math.

It is possible to change $3.05 into a million dollars if you exchange it for 10million different objects in differing value. SO let's just call the value of this and every subsequent deal $n where n is just a random number, since context is irrelevant.

I had no idea so many advocates for this "deal" didn't know how to do math, no wonder you think it's a bargain lol.

        • @hellohello123: You're not sure of many things unfortunately. :(

        • @Turd:

youd have to be blind and/or dumb to not be able to see the profit if done properly isnt $3.05

im just lost for words, that anyone can be so wrong and so confident

its quite funny seeing someone not get it and put every one else down around them

        • @hellohello123:
he is ignoring 5% off giftcards as payment because its not part of the "deal" even though it was written in the first line of this deal.

        • @googoogaga:

another $5 extra, what a waste of time!!

$5 is peanuts, I wouldnt even pick up a $5 note off the ground,

a bundle of $5 notes, id still have to think about it

        • +1

          @hellohello123:

yes and its not like a woolworths store shelf only has one "$3.05 profit" card to be bought at a time, heavenly forbid you buy more than 20+ each time. CHUMP CHANGE really, who would want to spend 10minutes of their time to get "$3.05" * 20(more like $8.05 but hey, some people don't know how to ozbargain).

        • -1

          @googoogaga:
I got to ozb gold status too!

      • +4

$3 for this effort seems like it should be nowhere near this site.

You can't neg a deal for it requiring more effort than you're willing to put in.
See the Voting Guidelines here if you want to learn how to make a valid neg.

        • I never negged for that reason. That's the reason why I commented to him.

  • Do you know if you can use the 10 x 10 gift cards in one purchase?

    • Can I use multiple gift cards for my online purchase?

The website will only allow up to 5 gift cards to be redeemed per order.

I guess I answered my own question,

Good if you have an AMEX and want to get $50 games I guess.

      • +3

Just a heads up, you can combine them into one $50 card on the JB site, and then do that over and over again for all your $10 cards.

Like you could use 5 to get a $50 card, and then do that twice and redeem for a $100 card etc.

        • Oooo thank you!

Looks like I'll use this deal then!

        • Just to clarify.. buying a $50 egift card online at jbhifi.com.au with 5x $10 egift cards? Are you sure this can be done?

        • +1

@cheapfab: not sure about egift card.

I have done it in store with the physical card. They can combine and split.

        • +1

@cheapfab: I've done it before so it definitely could be done, not sure if they have changed it though.

        • Do you know how long does it take to arrive on email when you redeem $100 egift card from JB Hifi website?

        • @sillycow:
I received my redemption in 22 minutes.

  • -7

Nup limited….no bargain here when limited!

  • +18

This seems like alot of work to save a few bucks. With those few bucks limited to spending at JB not really sure it's worth it.

    • +1

If someone was already going to buy prepaid cash cards for whatever reason, seeing this post might sway them to purchase this particular product from this particular retailer to take advantage of a current offer. Not every post needs to be applicable directly to you.

      • +2

Friends don't let friends buy EFTPOS cards. Especially if they were considering buying it without any discount

    • So it's about 3%, which is better than those cashrewards ebay increases of about 1.5% which regularly get a few hundred votes… The smart money's in the offset.

  • +3

Pretty sure you can no longer pay for a gift card using e-gift card. I have tried it in 2 different stores and POS says item not allowed

    • +2

If you’re doing it a self checkout they updated their system only allowing you to do it at a manned register, that’s what I got from my experience

    • +1

      Ymmv.

I tried at a WW store (Alexander Heights, WA) yesterday, and the eftpos terminal rejected the payment type at both the self service, and checkout.

Today, I was able to pay for gift cards with the egift cards at another WW store (Kingsway S/C, WA) at both the self service, and checkout.

Having read the new terms and conditions yesterday, it looks like this will be phased out, so I won't be pushing my luck on any big purchases again.

      • Does Alexander Heights still have the old style POS system. When the last offer was available at WW - I had a similar decline at old style POS systems, whereas a different store with the new style POS system it was allowed. This was both at self-service.
Old style POS - attendant is not required to perform a store login and "validate" that the gift cards are activated
New style POS - attendant is required to perform a "store login" with UI messages that attendant needs to validate the cards.

Both times it was payment by egift card - the old style POS then rejected the payment on the EFTPOS terminal. (that was beginning of May). Subsequently that store has now upgraded its POS, and the buying of gcards is now allowed again.. YMMV

    • This comment always comes up on every gift card deal yet to this day I have not yet come across any Woolies register that rejects egiftcard as a payment method for third party gift cards. The staff might but that's just them making up their own rules.

      • +2

It's not them making up their own rules. Pretty sure it's actually a rule.

It's just that not all staff enforce. The ones that enforce it are just doing their job (but unfortunately that sucks for us).

        • I tried at the check outs at Wynyard met centre, and staff told me I couldn't buy the gift card with an e gift card.

      • I never had an issue until this Friday

I think they are updating the POS systems gradually

      • +1

As per T&C's for gift cards: "eGift Cards cannot
be used towards the purchase of any gift cards sold through a Participating Store." From https://everydaygiftcards.com.au/gift-cards/learn-more/terms…

    • Just purchased a gift card with e-gift card the other day.

    • I just purchased $500 by using egiftcard at WW and had no problems at all. I think you should try at the other store, make sure use check out, not selfserve.

  • +1

Too much effort for a few bucks, also with $10 jbhifi gift card, I don’t know what to buy there.

    • +1

      Tons of things.

  • +1

    So $106.95 for a $100 Eftpos Card
    Then $10 JB Card

So you are getting $3.05 for Free

Wow - they won't be getting my dollars for that A lot of effort for a little gain

    • +1

Care to explain the neg? Do you need to be reminded what site you're on?

        • +9

Exactly which of these reasons is the neg for?

        • +6

$3.05 for free is a bloody good deal…. this is OzBargain afterall! I can use that pocket money to take the Missus out for a Maccas/Hungry icecream. Guaranteed to be a fun night!

        • @tightarse: Wow.

        • -1

          @taylorn8r:

My Theory is you also need to purchase a $6.95 Fee - JB Card to pool them together, so you really need 3 or more vouchers to make it worth while - I do not see that as a saving or a deal, thats the reason for the vote down - if my logic is wrong, than my bad, if this was $30 voucher, the story changes.

Hey maybe the host of fantastic deals has made me picky.

        • +3

          @markryan1971:

Your logic is inherently wrong. You are assuming that this post is purely designed to attract new purchases to buy prepaid EFTPOS cards to take advantage of an incentive, which you are saying is not good enough to sway you to buy their product. You fail to consider that someone may already be in the market to buy this particular product, and by way of seeing this post, they are alerted to the deal and choose to buy it from a particular retailer to take advantage of the current offer.

Why don't you want others to see this deal? because that is what negging achieves. You are helping noone.

        • +1

          @tromboc:

Why don't you want others to see this deal? because that is what negging achieves.

Personally, negs pique my interest and make me look at deals I might otherwise not. This deal is an example.

        • May we read your explanation of your neg please?

        • @tightarse: This is not the cheapest way to earn $3. There are many other ways to spend your time and get $3 or more back.

          It's not rocket science.

        • @Clear: If you think this is for free, you're sorely incorrect.

        • @markryan1971: Your logic is not wrong. That is impossible. People here just can't count or read a dictionary it seems.

          OzBargain? hahah. It's just OzSpam.

        • @thevofa: Of course they do. That's the point in having a critique system let alone a democratic one.

Sadly democratic is no where near a description of the voting system here. You can think of it as more totalitarian or socialist.

        • +1

@StoneSin: I'm very sorry for your loss.

        • @StoneSin:

          totalitarian or socialist.

You do realise these are 2 perpendicular and not-necessarily-related ideas, that socialism can be democratic?

        • @Clear: Fortunately no loss here except useful OzBargain time.

        • @thevofa: Which question do you want answered? I realise both of those things, what's your point?

        • @StoneSin: You have smeared socialism as undemocratic - read your comment.

        • @thevofa: Nope. Calling an orange an orange doesn't smear it as non-citrus.

    • +9

A lot of effort for a little gain

So you're basically negging because you don't like the deal, have I got that right?

    • +2

For someone already buying a prepaid cash card, this is a useful deal. Your neg is invalid.

      • -3

        Wrong.

The only reason you could think this was a deal is if you couldn't count.

  • Is this like the previous DJ claimyourbonus deal? Can anyone confirm - is this 10 card limit per customer regulated by IP address on the claimyourbonus website?

    • Yes, happened to me tonight "IP address limit exceeded."

      • +1

Just turn off your modem and turn on again, this will solve the limit exceeded.
