    • Extra head, hepa filter that’s about it.

    • No!

    • Cheers

  • -1

Bought it last year around this time for $430 with 2 years extended warranty and bonus tool

  • -6

    I'd rather 4 of these: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/371195

Or just the one, works better anyway.

    • +5

      Yeah….no

      • -8

Nah, yeah I suppose if you must have a Dyson logo on your vacuum then it's worth wasting $300 extra for a product that has less suction, fewer included powered heads, tiny bin capacity and can't clean more than a studio apartment before it needs to be charged for a few hours.

Read the comments in that thread from OZB users, it's loved. The Dyson is an expensive toy compared to it. If you care about vacuuming more than being part of the Dyson cult, then why pay more than 4x for a worse product?

        • +4

          Yeah….no

        • +3

Well your vacuum can't be used to vacuum inside the car. The End.

        • +2

Of course a battery powered stick vac will be outperformed by a wired upright

        • -2

          Yeah… no

        • @djmm:

Ummm there's a separate powered brush head that fits into nooks and crannies and I have a powerpoint within 20 meters of where I park my car.

So it cleans cars better too.

I would like to thank you though, as you were the only person who tried to have an actual argument in favor of the Dyson rather than just being offended I called their product a toy compared to something that costs 4x less.

        • @qwerty:

So it's a better vacuum that costs 4x less.

If it didn't have a Dyson logo in it, it would cost the same as the Kogan clones.

    • How do you use these for cleaning under beds and sofas?

      • There's a separate powered brush head and the main handle has a button where if you push it, it ejects and can be used as a solid extension for the hose which the powered head can attach to. I use it this way to clean my blinds, behind computer desks, under the bed, behind furniture ect.

It's truly a fantastic, do it all vacuum that can do everything the Dyson can, and a lot more.

There's a reason it's very popular. I mean people are welcome to spend 4 times the amount and have a worse product, but get that warm and fuzzy feeling they have for buying something they can show off as a status symbol. I'd get a corded Miele over a cordless Dyson if I was in the business of spending more than is necessary on a vacuum, because vacuuming is an important part of buying a vacuum!

  • Was loooking at samsung alternative.
Seems a better alternative if samsung start discounting the price

    • +4

      Personally I'd vote Dyson.
I have an ancient Dyson DC7 upright from the early 2000s. I can STILL buy accessory parts for it from the manufacturer (they aren't even that expensive) and the motor is still going strong 17 years later. Not many consumer devices/brands nowadays with that kind of longevity and long term support.

      • +2

I have a DC5 that is in the same category, it's so old now and has actually been sent in for service 10 years ago ($90 for pickup/return service) but was well worth it. Back in the day when you sent your Dyson for repairs they would even replace all the lifelong filters as part of the service. It's been used for years without issue since.

  • Good price but will wait for the V7 to go on sale.
    Battery life is longer
    Better suction
    Redesign Bin compartment

This model has the fluffy head and hepa filter though for those who are interested.

  • Stop have to many stains already!!

When is big w or a store gonna discount their Dyson eye robot?

    • +6

      What?

      • Dyson I meant!

  • +1

    Thanks OP!!!

Or at least my wife does.

  • Same price on Kogan…can’t see any deals with clickfrenzy

    • Link? Can’t see it?

  • I am SHOOK.

  • How about v7 v8 v10. What difference is there ?

    • Interested on knowing the diff too.

    • Just look at a few comments back Lonepine posted a link

  • +4

It's on their eBay store now so you can get it for $379.05 Delivered with PULL5.

    • Damn it! I have just bought it on their site. The first time I ever made a purchase on Big W site and this happens. 😣

      • Arghh that's annoying :( I guess you could try buy and cancel the main site one?

        • I have just been looking if I could cancel the order on their site and there's no option. I don't think this will survive until tomorrow if I want to give them a call in the morning to cancel it. Well, it's my fault. I should have checked their eBay page in the first place.

      • Same price if you used discounted gift card to buy from Big W website? Only cashrewards on ebay makes a small difference.

      Great find doweyy 🤙🏼

Holy moly! Just before 11pm the last person decided to purchase all the remaining units from the eBay store: 8 of them. I bet they're OzBargainers. lol

      • Yep some hog bought them all in on swoop. I had one in the cart cart and thought how hell it go ao quickly.

Wonder what he wanted to do with 8? He is probably reading this but cant reply because he has no account like most lurkers

        • likely a flipper

    • Awesome - works! Love me a good pull5.

  • I bought the V8 Absolute for $560 a while back. I think it was from Bing Lee or David Jones. Had a discount voucher, AMEX, gift cards etc.

  • Is it any better than DC59 Animal?

  • +1

Still too expensive for me :'(

  • -1

    Any other alternatives under $200?

  • I bought the V6 fluffy from the deal
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/364220
It has been great so far, for people who don't believe in wireless vacuum cleaners, they are so light and quicker to use.

  • Wouldn't the V7 from Bing Lee ebay for the same price (after the 20% off discount) be a better deal?

    • How about you link or post it?

    • without this deal, the V7 looks better but V6 was certainly a bargain with this deal. the differences between V6 and V7 doesn't seem to be much (or not worth extra $100 from my perspective). check out the comparison link from lonepine's comment above. apart from 10 mins additional battery time (which comes with additional charging time + weight) and slightly more bin capacity, there is no other advantage with V7. In fact, they seem to have removed post motor filter in V7 which looks bit odd (as its added back in V8).

  • Just bought the V6 Animal Origin from BigW last week for $349. Whats the difference between ours and the Absolute?

    • HEPA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

even 50 bux kmart vac has HEPA filter

  • U could use the 5% off wish card to buy ebay gc at woolies and then use the pull5 5% off code with the eBay gc. That’s if you can be bothered.

  • +1

Dammit went the cash rewards gift card option last night. Payment has gone through on my cc but the card is still in the payment pending state on the ww gift card site.

Any idea on how long do they normally take to clear?

    • Yep same for me…bought the (e) wish gift card yesterday arvo but still no gift card. Wish website says it can take up to 48 hours but payment already showing up on my credit card statement… wonder whether the offer will have finished before it arrives? :(

      • Yeah, I'm expecting that we're going to miss out.

    • Same situation here, but I sent an email through their website this morning, someone called me straight away to verify my details and I got the egift card through the my email within the next 30 mins..

      • Cool. Will try that now.. thanks.

        • Wow. Contacted WW via the online form and got a response from a rep in ~5 minutes saying that I'd be put on the priority list for the release of the card. Hopefully that comes through just as quickly.. @rovers4eva - suggest you do the same.

  • Hey I was waiting for a decent handvac bargain and this is a nice option for hardwood floors. thanks OP!!

    Extended until tomorrow 7pm

  • thanks OP. looks like a great price for this product. was going through sample reviews on youtube and learned that the battery lasts only 5 mins in max mode and ~20 mins in normal mode. requires around 3-4 hours of charge in between uses. will be good to know if anyone has first hand experience with this one w.r.t.:
    1) is the battery life sufficient for practical use? considering typical usage of cleaning entire house once a week in one go.
    2) does it have sufficient suction power in normal mode? how frequently you had to switch to max mode?
    3) in the video, it sounded bit noisy. how good/ bad is it in terms of noise compared to other models such as bosch?

    • It's a $400 dollar vacuum and you are willing to put up with all the shortcomings because it has a Dyson logo?

If you are the type that does a once weekly house clean then you need a product that will work around you, not you work around the product's shortcomings, unless you are a masochist. These cordless stick vacuums are spot vacuums. They are fantastic for quickly sucking up some dirt quickly and without needing to plug in a cord (how archaic!). If you only have one vacuum, make it one that can be used for an afternoon of cleaning and not one where you will have to do a half arsed vacuum because of the battery constraints.

It really sounds like you need a corded vacuum.

      • i got the deal anyway as our old one (bosch make, corded unit, only 3 yrs old and around similar price point) was breaking down every few minutes. turns out a small part is broke which costs less than 5 dollars to buy but with postage (from VIC i think) its around 40-50 bucks. so got this one instead of paying for super exp postage. quite sold just after first use of dyson. i'd say its totally worth it.
        1) surprisingly, the battery life did last sufficient enough. maybe i did rush a little bit (as i was bit conscious about battery life) but the amount of dust collected certainly looked more than previous corded one. will try going at usual pace next time and see.
        2) normal power did suffice for both hard floor + carpet areas. didn't have to switch to max mode at least with regular cleaning.
        3) it wasn't as noisy as i originally thought it would be. in fact our little one wasn't scared at all and was quite keen to see it in action. maybe because it isn't as bulky as the corded one and is hand-held types so was way above the ground level.
going cord-free is certainly more kids (and maybe pets too?) friendly and can also be used for cleaning car interiors. so quite happy in general.
would have given +10 to OP for this deal if i could :)
