  • Allegedly getting Oreo too but who knows

  • I know this has probably been asked several million times but how long does shipping usually take? I have to move in just over a month and would like the Redmi ASAP.

  • Can this be updated to the latest version?

  • Only just started looking at these…
Do these have expandable memory (sd card)??
8gb minus the installed software doesnt leave a lot of room for other apps/games. As I have found out with cheap android phones.

    • No sd card slot, just the one USB which can be used to expand the memory.

      • Ok. Depends if apps can be installed on the USB memory whether its useful or not

    • From the reviews i have seen. No they don't have sd or microsd slot.

That's why i went with this instead.

      • what about CPU vs this one?
Your link one looks more powerful with more ram.

However Xiaomi is a big brand like apple etc..
and the quality is known to be quite good though.

        • The difference in cpu power bwtween the two is negligible.

Though the mecool m8s pro L only does fhd netflix because it only has drm 1.x the extra features i get was still a better choice for me. 2 usb ports, microsd slot, more memory (1GB more), 4 times more internal storage (32GB vs 8GB). And the mecool has a network port. Granted its only 10/100Mbps but it has one.

      • No Chromecast but still way more power than the MiBox

    • This is one of the only boxes that runs proper Android TV which gets you 4k Netlfix and Youtube. The remote is really good as well.

I've had mine for a bit over a year and as a TV box it is really great. Plays 1080p from my server downstairs flawlessly via Kodi, Youtube plays well, casting video works well. I wouldn't want to try and play games on it but for less than the cost of a Chromecast Ultra it does what I need really well.

      • I lost my remote taking this thing on a holiday. Anyone know the best place to get a replacement?

        • There is an Android TV remote app. Not sure if available on iOS though

        • You will get it on eBay less than 5$
