Philips BDM4350UC 43" MultiView 4K UHD IPS Monitor $798 + $29.95 Post @ ShoppingExpress ($698 after Cashback via $100 Visa Card)

80

Currently using as gaming monitor with graphics amplifier alongside Alienware 17 R3 laptop. Comes with speakers louder than my laptop. Pretty much the biggest 4K monitor below $1000. Also useful as a USB Hub for laptops with 4 USB A ports as it plugs into the power socket and adds 4 USB 3.0 ports.

2 HDMI 2.0 (with MHL) ports, 2 DP 1.2 ports, VGA, 3.5mm audio input, 3.5mm headphone jack, 4 USB 3.0 pots (the third one along supports fast-charging) and a USB 3.0 upstream port.

  • 43" is great for 4K. Don't have to rely on scaling to make things readable.

    • It's still pretty small. You get use to it after a while tho

  • Burn in Issues?

    • Never had any yet for a around a year now. Some people do on YouTube

      • +1

If you don’t mind me asking, How’s it look on WQHD? I’d be running it off a 1070 so won’t be able to push 4K at decent frame rates for my liking I dare say. Also how far back do you sit? wondering what a comfortable view point would be.

        • I assume that means 2k? I've tried it for gaming and it looked good to me. I've got a 980ti and I play 4k on medium settings and turn off AA is it's not required. I'm 90% of the time getting 60fps
This has chroma 4:4:4 so I'm able to sit at office desk length. Make sure your eyes sit at the top of the monitor as you don't want to be moving your head a lot.

        • None here after 1 year use.

  • Better to wait for tomorrow and get it through 20% off (assuming they dont jackup the prices): https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Philips-BDM4350UC-43-LED-LCD-Gam…

  • FYI it's only great for entertainment. It's too big to work on documents side by side, you have to turn your head a lot.

I had three screens in portrait mode before, that was much more productive in a business environment (I often want 3 word documents/pdfs next to each other)

    • Disagree, I use it with a MBP and it's great for side by side docs, much better than multiple screens as you don't have the 'join' between screens.

      • You can snap screen and have it further away from you.

  • Newer model with HDR here and Ambiglow https://www.pccasegear.com/products/42076/philips-436m6vbrab…
There is another model coming with 1000nits HD1000 certification for around $1399.

    • MVA vs IPS

    • Wow. 436M6VBRAB and 436M6VBPAB. Both look identical. With just that one letter buried in the model number representing HDR400 over HDR1000.
