[VIC] DiDi Mobility - for Geelong Region before Australia Launch: Get 3x $20 Rides Free

40

Didi is China's largest ride share service with over 300 millions users across 400 cities.

Unfortunately, not a lot of information here to go on, but understand that installing the app will get you the free rides.
Get ready for almost all phone abilities to be accepted.

Yep, probably the worst understood way of getting this bargain, as it was seen in the paper, and need to subscribe to it to read it further online (so, only got a screenshot from the Geelong Advertiser search page)

Currently, Android has "DiDi driver" listed as the app, with about 100 downloads only…seems legit App link

Believe this to be a (temporary) freebie, but no idea of the expiry date.

PS:they are currently looking for drivers !

I tend to find myself using Taxify most of the time now unless Ola or Uber has a special going. Always seem to get a car very quickly and get charged consistent rates for my usual after-hours work-home journey (unlike, for example, GoCatch which can vary wildly depsite having no transparent or widely advertised surge rate).

Will have to try this one when they expand into Melbourne…

  • I used DiDi for 100+ trips in China and while infinitely better than taxis, the interface isn't great. Uber and Taxify are miles better.

I still owe DiDi ~$50 since it inexplicably started rejecting all of my debit and credit cards. Even their support service couldn't offer an explanation nor solution.

  • Reminds me of this song.

remember when Uber was defeated and retreated from China's market they made a deal with Didi that Didi would not enter australian market. Now it seems something is happening for good.

    • Not defeated, they was actually top used ride sharing until China government put a stop to this.

      • That sounds defeated to me. Uber just pulled out of Thailand and took a share in grab as well.

  • Do these rides sit in the app until you need them or is there an expiry date?

  • Used didi heaps when I was in China last year. I had no issues with the interface.

Lost some sunnies and the driver offered to drive them back to our hotel.

The equivalent “Uber black” service was cheap compared to the normal service. We pretty much exclusively used the black service. Wonder what the premium service will cost here.

From what i heard, Uber was rocking in China with legit no one using DI DI but when government banned Uber from China, only then people started to use DI DI. I heard uber had alot of free travel coupons/discounts.
