+1, but bought these BOGOF brakes, a couple of years ago for $66, hoping to use them sometime… both pads are still sitting in the garage! Think I need another 5+ years to be able to use these, if I don't wreck my car earlier than that!
I'm guessing you can't buy one and get the cheapest one free? Front and rear? (Assuming they're different)
Forgive me, but can someone tell me what is the actual benefit of this, short of aesthetics?
Edit: the tyre shine i mean… i get the benefit of having brakes.It smells better than raw tyre. It's also a decent product for a cheap price.

This is basically pure silicone, and some propellant. It makes things shiny. It makes faded bumpers, and plastic parts looks crispy and new. Its slippy as hell, so be careful about using it on gloor mats,and control surfaces.
Using the exact tyre shine currently. No different to the 5 star branded ones used from Kmart/bigw. I’ve used the $15 armourall and turtle products also and really don’t see the major difference between these cheap ones, the $15 cans last another week. I get about a fortnight out of these cheap cans. Really can’t justify spending $15 on a can.
One product I do recommend is the 5 Star Wheel Cleaner from BW/Kmart. $3 a pop works wonders, better than any other cleaner I’ve used.
Apparently wd40 is also great for tyre shine.

Get a spray bottle of Bowden’s Own “Wheely Clean” make sure it says “New Formula” on the front. The best wheel cleaner out, don’t even need to touch the wheel if you spray on and let it dwell for a minute and pressure wash off
Ok, shine and other cosmetics aside, can anyone say a word or two about the Benix brake pads?
They're of reasonable quality, and Bendix does supply the OEM equipment for several mainstream cars here in Australia. You'd not go wrong for normal, or even a bit of spirited driving with those. Given the deal price, I reckon they're a good bargain.
I agree…you can do far worse than Bendix - ie home brand Repco or SCA…
I personally like QFM - was recommended them and now they are in, are silent, don't produce much dust and pull up well.

A little more expensive, but worth it IMO.
Can get QFM HP-X from Brakes Direct in QLD. The guys who run BD are great, and ship to your door.
I use RDA extreme pads, stopping power is the best (all metallic) with only minor squeal and a little more dust being downsides. I go for stopping power over anything else.
SCA pads are made by Bendix, but no idea if its the same formula or just cosmetic. Anywho, QFM are better (and cheaper round ~$50 a set)
@gguu: If you're talking about the Euro's, they are on par with the QFM for similar money, it really much of a much-ness with that kind of money.
Anyone with specific requirements of feel,fade, temps would be considering the higher end models of Akebono as well as Brembo/AP, Endless or any of the other racing/street/track brands.
But as much as I would like to try other brands, sometimes sizing can be a problem and you just have to settle for something that you can fit from a decent brand.
I've just fitted QFM, and have slightly less fade, more stopping power, and a little more feel. I didn't really have any other options for my daily drive (short of Bendex/Wagner/HiQ or some cheaper Jap brands). I'm happy with my QFM, and they are fairly consistent even from cold. But what happens when they are pushed, I don't know. There just basic pads, so I wouldn't expect much at the limits, and I'm on the public roads
how much does it cost to get brake pads changed at the mechanics??
A couple of years ago I got a quote for $220 for the front pads, replace and machine on a Corolla. This year I got a $280 quote to replace rotors and pads on a Camry. No spare part brands mentioned,so I assume no frills. This was at the Clutch&Breaks mechanic in Carlton NSW.
That sounds like a good price that covers parts as well. But keep in mind, pads and discs on a modern volvo can cost over $1000, so it's dependent on the car.
I can replace all the brake pads on a car in less than an hour without any special tools, so I would think that any mechanic should be able to do it easily in that time. I wouldn't expect a mechanic to charge more than an hour's labour, which should be maybe $80-$120.

I bought my own Bendix brake pads and rotors (all four wheels $250) got them fitted for $160 with a brake fluid flush and fill. They usually go by $100 an hour labour. Better going to an independent mechanic as other shops don't really do it. They make you by it from them. You really only need new rotors if you feel some shudder in the steering wheel under heavy braking. If you only need the front brake pads done then it will be usually just under $200 when they supply the parts. Buying the pads yourself won't save you that much money for fronts. Only if you're doing new pads and rotors all around
Bendix are complete junk. For the same prce get QFM HPX pads on ebay. Much better stopping and less dust

DBA are a great brand of rotor…
DBA rotors with QFM pads are a great combo imo. I have DBA t2 rotors (slotted rotors) + QFM hpx pads on my daily and they are awesome.
Bendix Ultra Premium(also known as General CT) are actually great. Running them in my boosted 86 and my gfs accord euro and it's completely fine. Obviously for track work and intense driving you'll want better but these I rate really highly.
Haven't used the export tyre shine.. But the SCA one is pretty good

if you are on the look out for Bendix brake pads, then have a search at SparesBox. They also list most of their stuff on eBay as well and you should be able to make use of code PULL5 for a 5% discount when spending $30+. I replaced all four corners with Bendix pads for around $160 with a 15% or 20% off deal. Anyway for comparison purpose check out the site to see if you'd be able save.
When the deal is active you will likely find them in the parts finder on SCA website. Add both and then see if you get BOGOF.
