Any proof that these are actually AKG OEM? it could have just come from any old dodgy factory in china which is usually in the business of replicating things.

    • +1

I'll let you know when they arrive

    • +1

Made by Samsung, tuned by AKG.

    • These are generic earphones

      • +2

And by generic you mean they are cheap knock offs.

    • +2

There are historic threads with a lot of negs where people got these and they were terrible. I only bought them to solder the cable to other headphones but that is poor quality too. I canceled my order after reading that.

    • +6

Bought one before, sound quality sucks.. That's 1 bucks down the drain..

      • +1

They are truly awful earphones - cheap, nasty and poor sound

    • They are trash, my 5 pairs broke within 2 weeks

    • +1

I have genuine Samsung S8 AKG earphones. I bought four sets of these from Zapals. These are NOT genuine and they sound horrible. If you are in desperate need of an earphone and short on cash these will do I guess but they sound extremely muffled.

    • +1

Tuned by AKGs cousins brothers uncles red head step child.

  • Any good?

    • Going by reviews of the knock offs that these are, they are terrible.

      • And on a plane it doesn't matter.

Great for traveling as you don't care if you lose or break them.

        • +3

Well on a plane it does matter, as you have to turn the volume up quite high, and as many of the reviews say these knock offs distort at high volume.

I prefer headphones for travelling anyway, harder to lose, more comfortable, and BT ones provide a glimpse of the future.

        • +1

@OnlinePred: I agree.. the freebie ones Singapore gave me were absolutely shocking. No noise isolation whatsoever and heavily distorted at nearly any volume.

I only used them because I thought I didn't bring my airline adapter with the QC35s. Thankfully it was just tucked into the case.

        • A plane is one of the few places a good set of headphones comes into play - preferably over the ear, noise isolating and cancelling. I find it makes a huge difference to travel comfort. Heck, I even sleep with my noise cancelling ones on.

        • Why would you stop caring about awful audio quality because you got on a plane?

        • @cyssero: Agreed… A lot of airlines give out generic non-isolating buds. On a plane, that's just asking to to go deaf.

    • +5

don't waste your money. I bought one last month bad built and sound quality.
The cable near the volume control is hanging on by its thread, sound is flat.
It is nowhere near as good as the "OEM" Xiaomi Piston I bought from Ebay. My Xiaomi survived an overseas trip and I use it daily, this one will not.

    • Avoid it

    • +3

I have this from Zapals. It's definitely not AKG OEM. It's just knock offs with really flat sound in every way. I only use it for Podcast listening.

      • did u report to their admin?

  • +5

Originals are good and from what I read sell separately for ~$100.

Can guarantee that these are not originals - just like all of the fake iPhone ones.

    • +1

You can buy on ebay for $30 as people are selling them from the new galaxy phones.

They are definatetly not worth $100, let along $50. But still decent for included buds.

      • +1

Got the price from this review - agree they're not $100 buds, but that's what they seem to RRP for. As you said, quite good for free/included buds.

  • +2

Bought these previously, they are cheap and flimsy, definitely not the ones you get with Samsung phones

  • got this for 99c from last deal. Music sounds good for the price for sure. Can be more than loud enough at 50%, not good over that.
Not as good as my Yamaha BT or Bose35, but good spares especially when you move about and not really enjoy hi-fi style.
Considering to get one for each of the family.

    • Music sounds good for the price

So the sound quality is bad? :)

      • +4

At US$0.89, you only hear Sound not Music.:)

        • Decent enough music unless you are adiophile type.

      • Not bad, on par with those ones come with phones. Worth to try one. Better than those supermarket $10-20 ones I assume.

  • 1 dollar dual drivers what the frik

  • I ordered one, but PayPal charged my card twice. $1.18 and $1.33. It should have been just one $1.18 transaction. Anyone else have the same experience?

    • Nope, just got charged 1.18

  • +2

fake item should not be promoted

  • Are people still buying this? Avoid at all cost.

  • I bought these from Zapals in the last deal.

So far i have been using them from past one month and had no issues with them.

They are very clear in sound too. DOnt expect a sound quality like Bose for AU $1.18.

If you really worry about quality… Go for Bose or some high branded ones. But for normal daily use i fell these will serve the purpose.

  • I bought a half dozen of these from Zapals. I destroy even quality buds by getting them caught on things as I listen to audiobooks all day. They are fine for that at least and I can throw them away without guilt.

  • +5

I bought from a previous deal and the sound quality was so poor.. it went into the bin. I've also compared it with the real set that came with my Note 8 and can claim it is fake. I am negging this because I believe it is a counterfeit product.

  • I use these when I go out drinking and catch public transport, get to listen to some tunes on the way into the pubs and throw them out as soon as I rock up
    :D

Same thing I do with OEM Samsung Headphones

  • Ordered through their promotional emailing, canceled straight after reading you comments 2 hrs later :)

  • Do NOT buy these. 2/5 came broken and the other 3 broke within 2 weeks. Waste of money, not much but still a waste.

  • +2

Do not purchase. I have a pair of these on me right now, as well as a real pair & these are obvious fakes.

As you would expect these are of shocking quality and obvious counterfeits.

  • +1

Got a couple in the mail yesterday, definitely a cheap knockoff. Sounds terrible!

  • Most of Chinese online shops don't have credibility particularly on electronic goods. No point to waste your time and contribute more rubbish to our landfill.

  • The pair I got were such a bunch of cr@p that I listened for a few seconds only and left it at my desk when I was moving office thinking someone may find use for it. As an afterthought, I shouldn't have done that to even my worst enemy.

  • +1

"…but it's an OEM version of the Samsung AKG S8 Headphones." It's not from the original manufacturer, they are just cheap clones.

  • I purchased in last deal, it's fake and rubbish quality, don't waste your money…

  • +1

people please stop upvoting this post. It is definitely not OEM.

  • This is a poor copy and not OEM. The original OEM AKG headphones are not great. These terrible. If you want to advertise them as a cheap headphone, great. Seems cheap. Otherwise it is false advertising.
Edit: I see mod updated title but suggest updating description also
