  • Looking forward to the Amazon comments and how eBay fees are excessive.

    • +6

Amazon is amazing and eBay fees are excesssive

    • +1

What I really hate is excessive Amazon comments and how eBay fees.

    • Other than odd deals here and there, Amazon AU is pretty average so far. Pity I already have XB1.

The fee waiver from FeeBay is nice, but still need to pay fee for PayPal. Also, when the buyer wanted a full refund return, you still need to pay the minimal admin fee to PayPal. It really feels like FeePal, rather than PayPal.

      • And PayPal just increased the merchant fee to 2.4% no matter how your transaction volume is.

    Thank you headphonejack!
I'm loving all these free listings deals. It's helped me clear out half my workshop

  • Annoyingly not eligible for these anymore as my seller level is "below standard" because I have had 3/376 cases closed without a seller resolution.

    • +1

I'm above standard and still can't get it.

    • +1

      3/376 cases

      You had 376 cases?

      • lol

      • +1

        Lol I'm a terrible seller…
        3 cases out of 376 sales. :D

        • that's bloody good. I try to get scammed alot on eBay. I set my buyer restrictions as stingy as possible to avoid these rats. lower sales but night net profit from not being scammed. 😃

        • @djcharliek:

I try to get scammed alot on eBay.

Might be able to help you out, send me your store details.

        • @djcharliek: I've had a one way discussion with eBay about the percentage, basically I went form a top seller to a below standard seller because my percentage is 0.86% of cases against me when I need to be a 0.30%. On top of this, Paypal hold onto my funds for 20 business days as I'm now a 'high risk' seller.

    • so those 3 cases, did buyer try to scam you? Not happy with their purchase/change of mind?

  • +1

    Thanks headphonejack :)

  • Hopefully targeted, got a few things I've been waiting to sell.

    Not targeted :(

  • There was one at the start of May too wasnt there? Looks like the $1 Sundays has been replaced by $0 monthly perhaps?

My acceptance comment does not state that its limited to one category, which would be quite restrictive.

    • +3

That just means that you can list the same product in 2 or more categories, rather than all your listings in 2 or more categories :)

So you can list 2 things in different categories themselves, just not 1 list in 2 categories if that makes sense.

Eg You can't put a Watch in both Accessories-> Watches AND Electronics -> Watches in the same listing.

But you can list a smart watch and wristwatch in 2 separate categories.

  • Does anyone know how long the duration is? Can we only list on June 1st (one day only)? Because I read the T&Cs and there's nothing about when it ends. Any clarification would be great, thanks.

    • The promotion runs from 1-4 June, list items between these dates to qualify.

  • +1

Epic. Looks like I'm targeted. And to think that people at Starbucks complain about getting targeted.

Was going to list something on the weekend then realised eBay charges 10% in final value fees now…I simply don't understand why anyone would use the platform with such exorbitant fees…much better off listing your stuff on Gumtree.

    • I list on both but add an extra 10% to 15% on eBay to cover the fees. Sure it probably won't sell but I treat it like free advertising for my Gumtree ads.

      • Thanks for letting us know.

        • I just cancelled my 3 ads on eBay, will relist them on Friday with this deal.

        • @WatchNerd:

          Thanks for keeping me abreast.

        • @WatchNerd: still putting 10%-15% on top though?

  • Sweet. Just in time for me to clear my wardrobe.

I really hate buyers who don't leave feedback.

    • +2

I used to think that way, nowadays if they dont hassle me for returns/trying to scam, thats good enough

      • But does eBay still count your sales as "successful" without feedback?

        • I dont think lack of + fback counts as a defect, hope not.

IMO buyers these days expect really fast post or a well packed parcel, or 'item actually better than described' before they chime in with +

        • @payton: Might start a ticket and ask them…

        • +1

@payton: Agreed. Nowadays, you generally need to exceed expectation to get a +ve feedback. Some buyers would write a positive eBay message saying they will provide positive feedback shortly and never did. It's partially due to the way the feeBay site is structured nowadays. It is geared towards easier return, rather than easier to provide feedback.

Recently had buyers changed their minds on purchases, but instead of being honest about it (I do accept returns due to change of mind), they insisted on going through items not as described.

      • +1

Yeah, an increase of dodgy buyers and buyers now have higher expectation. Dealing with returns is time consuming and I've been scammed twice lately (fraudulent transactions apparently, but the supposedly real feeBay account owners were quite nasty - honestly, they got their money back in full, I still had to pay PayPal transaction admin fee - yes, even in case of a full refund, I have to fork out the admin fee. One of the feeBay account owners was somewhat hostile - come on, I didn't hack her feeBay AND PayPal account and had no idea how the hacker did it). For returns, I lose out on postage and also the PayPal admin fee.

I'll be happy when a feeBay transaction goes smoothly.

  • +1

This pattern has felt like a no-win on an individual level between me and eBay - I'm left with unwanted stuff sitting on the shelf until such a deal comes around (as their standard fees are exhorbitant), while they don't get paid anything by me for the service they provide. Would rather be listing as needed, and paying reasonable fees.

    • Amen.

It's not that hard eBay, you were already swimming in money when you were charging a quarter of this. Your greed will undo you eventually.

  • I'm getting "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only." :(

    • +1

Don't worry! I get this for every offer posted here and I've had my account for a long time. Think I'll just go ahead and open a new account and see if I get those offers there.

  • +1

    Cheers OP :)

"No Insertion" = story of my life

    • +1

There's always insertion with a fee available. No judgements amongst friends

  • no luck

  • +1

This dodgy seller is obviously trying to take advantage of any potential 10% sitewide discount.

  • That's what she said

  • is it ok to claim all those ebay selling offers without reading?

  • +3

For those that are getting this as an offer not targeted at them (I got this from the link) - I found the promotion under Selling/Sold on the desktop website. The procedure I followed to access the offer was (1) Click on sell from the eBay site (2) Log into account (3) Click on the eBay icon to return to main page (4) Open Selling/Sold under My Ebay (5) Click on the offer. Not sure if steps 1-3 were necessary, but this is what I did.

  • +1

Hope they do this again. I have been lucky to have this a few times now. Has made a real difference for us. But now I am used to it…
