I'll upvote this bargain for $50

    ;)

  • +2

    Legend!

  • How long is the code valid for?

    • +3

      till 30th June.

      • Ouch

    • The code I received expires 30 June 2018.

  • +1

    Thanks OP!

  • How long is the expiry code usually? Are we talking about 1 month? 1 year?

    • +1

End if financial year (this month)

  • OFFER EXPIRES
    June 30, 2018

  • I don't see how this will end well for CGU. Attracting freeloaders yields no benefits.

    • Existing codes all gone.New entries will need up to 48hrs to receive new codes, during which they might cancel all entries, unfortunately.

    • I’d just 10 percent of takers become Airtasker users, then it’ll pay for itself.

  • Can I redeem it on myself?

    • You must redeem it on the airtasker website. So, unless you are the airtasker website…

      • Could we redeem it on each other?

        • +1

Depends on what "services" everyone provides.

        • +6

@steven6: I'll find you the best deal on bargains

    • +6

It doesn't ask for a phone number.

  • +2

I can predict that the code will be for sale in the classifieds once they no longer accept new sign ups.

    • -1

      Price guide?

      • I would say $10 since we all can sign up new account with $25 credit anyway.

        • There's a minimum spend for the new account $25 though

  • +1

    Missed it by that much…

  • +2

    Up to 48 hour wait

  • +2

I need to move 2 sofas from one apartment to another. Is Airtasker the place to look for services like this?

    • +2

yes. that is one of the most popular services on airtasker actually.

      • -1

        what about cheap electrician?

    • +1

      Can you share one please?

  • +1

I foresee an impending "ozbargained" on the horizon

  • spewing i missed this one - i currently have a couple of tasks on airtasker

  • I have a task that has been assigned to be completed next week.

If the person agrees, can I cancel the task (get refund) then assign the task back to them and get the $50 voucher applied?

Sorry i don’t use airtasker often so not sure if possible…

    • yea

    • +1

Check terms. It’s changed recently to prevent this from happening. Essentially, if you cancel (and it’s your fault) you get slugged with 15% fees. If they cancel and it’s their fault they get 15%

  • if anyone with heaps of codes is willing to give one up it'd be much appreciated.
    happy to do trades too

  • Just registered…. Still valid.

    "Thank You!
Your unique coupon code is on its way to your email.

Follow the link below to post a task."

  • Is there anything stopping me and a friend from signing up and doing tasks for each other?

    • +4

If someone smashed your hands with a hammer every time you tried to sign up for it.

      • Is that you Dominos trying to get your hands on Airtasker?

  • +12

I’m going to use my Airtasker $50 to hire two people to create a gmail account, sign up for this offer, use the coupon money to hire two more each, and after say 20 iterations the 20th instruction will be to send the coupons to me. I’ll then own Airtasker basically.

    • End loop

    • They sure are smart in Austria.

    • Goddamn it, you're so smart. I want to have your baby!

  • Your coupon code will be sent to you via email within 48 hours.

  • run out of coupons

  • Page error.

  • Oh damn.. Oh well better luck next time

  • Thanks OP, got in earlier today. Now to find something to use it for before the end of June…

    • did you get sent an actual code earlier today?

  • Thanks for your interest in finding More Time with our Airtasker offer. Unfortunately due to high demand, stocks of the $50 coupon have now been exhausted.

We’re sorry you missed out this time. However, you can still access a range of other free, time saving solutions below.

Got that too. IMO, that's a cunning way to mine legitimate email addresses and private information. They could well have just mined thousands of email addresses by offering a handful of coupons. Surely they knew the quota available and could have stopped accepting submissions once it was reached.

      Doesn't this breach consumer laws?

I’ll add CGU to the list of businesses I probably should have looked into reporting to the ACCC.

Just got this now ( Just for context I filled in the form when the post had about 100 upvotes) Safe to assume most people arent getting a code

    • +5

But I have been told by this at the first place:

Your coupon code will be sent to you via email within 48 hours. In the meantime, you can start thinking about all the things you can use it for such as hiring an extra pairs of hands for house cleaning, moving services or even to create that marketing plan that’s been sitting on your to do list for far too long.

May be only 10 coupons were available!?

      • -7

        Not sure why you negged.

A LOT of people got their coupon instantly before they ran out.

Saying just 10 is just stupid.

        • +1

          Read the email above

  • Just received the above email.

  • +1

Wow a big screw you we are sorry email

    cGU sucks

    • -7

I’m sure they weren’t expecting to be ozbargained

Love the sooks who are negging me. There was over 7600 clicks on the deal. It got ozbargained… deal with it!

      • +2

Two lines of code saying if stock exhausted don't allow registration, damn that's hard

Okay then. I guess I won’t be choosing CGU for my freelance insurance anymore.

  • +4

Had enough of these business advertising what they cant handle! Deserves a neg for false advertising.

  • +5

We put the FU in cgu

  • +3

So much for the voucher.. stocks exhausted my left butt cheek..

  • +3

I’m getting spam from an email I’ve never used before this offer..

Seems like they’ve sold the list of emails on for a nice profit

  • +4

Stock exhausted, what a load of shit. I seriously need to learn to stop voting on deals before I get the item. I hate that you can't neg deals after you revoke your vote. It's one of OzBargain's biggest flaws.

    • +1

Exactly. Anyone know how many vouchers were issued?

    • +5

Here, I’ll do it for you.

      • +1

        Thank you :)

    • Agreed. Or comments

  • +1

    Stock exhausted. Rightttttt….

  • Considering its an e-voucher which can be generated by the company, doesn't make any sense that the stock was exhausted

  • Does anyone know how to submit a request to CGU to remove our personal information from their database?

    • Isn't this required after GDPR?

  • +1

    None

  • "Your coupon code will be sent to you via email within 48 hours."

    False advertising!

  • +3

    false advertising

  • +1

Submitted feedback regarding this. Pretty poor to say the code would be emailed within 48 hours instead of just a flat 'allocation exhausted'.

  • +1

Anyone actually got it? Sounds like a scam to to get your emails haha

    • I got it before the 48 hour notice came up, seems like they had really limited codes as that only lasted like 20 mins until the notice came up. It should have said codes OOS rather than it will take 48 hours.

  • +2

    False advertising

  • +4

Unsubscribed, revoked. Have worked in marketing before, would have been smarter to limit on the website than disappoint potential customers with potential high spends, who will now have a negative perception of CGU.

  • +1

I swear to God they better not send me any emails

  • Jumped on this pretty early and still "exhausted", can't have been many

  • +1

That’s why I used my burner email.Insrance companies aren’t known for their morals. Dance with the devil and you’ll get burnt.

  • +2

Looks like a scam to harvest data. Out of stock of a digital resource… right

  • -3

    I got 6 codes, used 1.

    • Any chance you could help a fellow ozbargainer out? I'm looking to use airtasker for a dashcam installation lol
