    still too expensive :(

GPUs are like AUS house prices.

    • So buy then, and profit later?

      • +4

The problem is house price is going down now, and will continue.

        • +2

Ah. Then GPUs should become a lot cheaper then. That's good news.

  • +7

    No prices listed

  • +12

cheapest 1080ti will be around $990 by tomorrow:)
cheapest 1080 will be around $600

    • then it looks like a decent deal.

    • +2

How much for 1070 or 1070 ti?

    • which card is it, and will we be able to order online tomorrow or is discount only applied in store? tempted by the 1080, but busy tomorrow and afraid it will be ofs tomorrow

(Edit) Where did you find the 1080 for 600?
      i cant find it

      • +1

        http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/PARTS.pdf

cheapest is 780. so its gonna be 624 which is around 600.

      • +3

Just look at the image, it clearly indicates "no reservations" and "instore only".

        • +1

ease up with the logic @twocsies

        • @lethalmoney: Good point. It would be good info for the description.

  • Are these cheaper from the manufacturer now, or clearing stock for new cards?

      • -1

Of course he's not going to announce it at a small-scale press briefing. E3 is the earliest possible moment from here on out, and probably Gamescom the last. They've been running a pretty tight ship to mess with miners, who are now grabbing ASICs by the palette full for current crypto demand instead of GPUs.

They're not going to beat AMD to a next-gen 7nm design, so the smart move is to position themselves well ahead of the initial Navi launch.

        • +5

          Computex isn't a

          a small-scale press briefing

        • @Diji1: I know that Computex itself isn't small, but the pre-event briefing was the most hit and giggle thing I've seen from nVidia in a while. Take a look for yourself.

Where's all the marketing budget going, I wonder?

      • +4

People keep falling for this everytime…

They always lie about when new cards are releasing.

        • I would like to know more about this, as I am just start looking at the news recently.

      • Gonna be another 6 months to a year until new gpu are announced

    • Both, but you'd want it to be more than 10% below MSRP to buy now.

  • Mega keen on a 1070 or maybe even the 1080…

    • +2

Same here, must resist……wait for new cards…..my HD6850 can still hold steadily….

Lets think about that, GTX 1080 was $550 in May 2017.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/309783

      • But it's only $50 more!!
        My money!!
I need to not buy it but I need to get it

        • it actually 50% more than you think, it is $75 more than last year!!!

        • @windwai: Ahhh I might wait then…
          But a 1070 is gonna be $507…
Maths isn't my strong point I think it will be $543 I'm not sure tho

        • +1

          @Lockster:

          But but it was $470
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/305811

And I regretted not getting this:
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/324093

ok, Seriously, if you cannot wait, just buy it.

But I can, i only need it for monster hunter world. even than, i can play it in low setting before new card release.

        • @windwai: if you live near the selected stores you can get a 1070 to for $503!

      • HD6850 boys! mine has held up since 2013 playing minor games, just waiting for prices to decrease now

    • If you can afford it (and don't mine), get the 1080 for $600.

      • $600 is too much, I bought a GTX 960 for $350 2.5 years ago.

        • You are looking at the wrong card, 1060 is card at the same range as 960.

  • Is the 1080 much faster than the 1070/1070ti?

  • Looking to buy a low profile card. Any low profile on sale?

  • Thinking of getting this to throw into an i5 Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF.

    http://www.msy.com.au/vic/malvern/nvidia/20052-msi-gtx-1050-…

    It's currently listed as $275 - So that'll be $220 tomorrow?

    Cheers

  • damnn cheapest gtx 1070 still 500+

    • Nope it's $483

  • +10

Good luck to everyone going in store to buy a card. Last time I went to MSY their online stock indicator said it was in stock, get there and no stock. I would have called first but I would of had more luck getting a hold of ET.

    • +9

you would have got a busy tone, as he was phoning home.

    • +2

      This.

They probably have 2 in stock in each store and they try to lure you into the store … to be disappointed that there is no stock. Probably hope you spend on another …
I have been there a few times! … lol

At their time of special, I have factored 3 different cards just in case as I had an idea that one of them may be out of stock .. guess what? All were out of stock LOL. Wasted logistics and time.

Spend a little more on a shop that has stock and it will save you the wait, logistics and disappointment. The other shop may offer free delivery hence the offset of savings

      Cheers

      • +1

Hmm this is called bait advertising and is a specific breach of the ACL for misleading and deceptive conduct. MSY love getting themselves more and more fines by the ACCC….

        • LOL .. you see these ACCC signs right next to the cashier regarding breaches …. etc
.. seems like there is a collection

    • Mentioning mining on OzBargain is a guaranteed way to get neg'd.
Get a bunch of Vega64's and start earning US$4 / card / day, sounds pretty good to me.

  • Any differences if I switch from 1070 to 1080 Ti? I only have 2k monitor fyi. Thanks.

    • +1

      Yep.
Double the Sol/s mining equihash coins.
      More future-proofing for gaming.
45fps -> 60fps playing Zelda BOTW in cemu (depending on your CPU).

      • I only play WoW atm and hovering around 100 FPS, so not sure if its worth to upgrade…

        • Depends on the refresh rate of your display then.

        • @idonotknowwhy: I have AoC G-Sync monitor…

        • If you only play WoW, a 1080ti is really overkill.

        • +1

@OpenHand: guess I’ll stick to what I have then. Thanks.

        • @OpenHand:
Hey mate, I have i7 8700 k system, was waiting for a 1080ti deal, do u think 1070 ti is enough for 4k video editing, I dont necessarily play game on pc, mobo is maximus X.

    • At this price I would not bother upgrading yet. While the 1080 Ti is far ahead of the 1070, if you're not using it to do actual work, and are just gaming on it, as long as you're not trying to push 4K 60 fps, or 1080/1440 100+ fps, anything above a 1070 is overkill.

  • My 20% off eBay deal still better price :p

  • So they were seriously selling RX560s for $290 before?

  • 7nm GPU are coming next year. I think I will wait.

    • Probably even lower nm CPUs coming after that…. I will wait 10 more years…

      • You’ll be waiting forever!

        • +1

That is my point regarding waiting another 1 year for something. There is always something better next year. It makes sense to wait a couple of months for the new Nvidia cards, but those will not be on 7nm.

        • But You did not get his point, I agree that you should upgrade when needed without waiting. The problem is will you pay for the launch price for a 2 years old card?

  • Is this off of their in store listed price? $700 for a strix vega 64 sounds pretty solid.

  • Sweet just picked up two 1080s from Auburn MSY.

    $623 for Galax ExOC
    $676 for the Asus Turbo

Prices right off their PDF pricelist.

    • Which is most bang for buck 1080?

      G1 gaming?
galax exoc? galax sniper? whats the diff?

      Any led?

I've got a Asus ROG Maximus VII Ranger motherboard with a white NZXT H440 case.

      • The cheapest 1080 is always the best bang for your buck. Get a non blower cooler GPU for that case and you will be good to go. If you want RGB pay for what you like.

        • Is a non blower gpu the reference card looking ones?

        • @k3nnis: the ones with 1 fan at the back, those are blower styles, the reference / founder edition are blower styles yes.

        • @misu p:
i have NZXT elite 340 case with NZXT 62 AIO, should i get blower gpu or non blower?

      • Galaxy offers 2Yr warranty whilst most other manufacturers offer 3 years (Gigabyte does 4 on limited models).

    • Don't forget to claim / sell you game licenses!

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/383357

      • There's no code on my receipt. Do I have to call MSY to get one?

        • call? Boi MSY dont answer calls

  • Any eGPUs? Need one for Tensorflow on my laptop

  • bugger all stock - telephones off the hook - usual bait advertising from Msy…

    • Keep calling every so often, I called a few times before they opened and two times afterwards, they picked up on my final attempt

      • not engaged - off the hook - there's a difference…

  • +2

The deal does not say it, but in store I asked, and the cashier said it covered all GPUs including the 1070ti, and I was able to pick up this model for only $503, which is an absolute ripper deal.

    http://www.msy.com.au/nvidia/20607-galax-nvidia-70ish6dhm9xe…

If anyone is considering getting a mid-high end card in this deal, this is absolutely the best value for money you can get. The 1070ti delivers roughly 15% more performance than a 1070, and only about 10% less than a 1080, and 25% less than a 1080 ti. Price wise, going by parts.pdf, the cheapest in each model is (prices before/after discount):

GTX 1070: Galax EX @ 606/485 (this was out of stock when I went)
GTX 1070ti: Galax EX Black @ 629/503 (not listed in parts.pdf)
    GTX 1080: Galax EXOC @ 779/625
GTX 1080 Ti: MSI Gaming X @ 1249/1000 (not technically the cheapest but one of the best 1080tis, worth the 20 extra)

Of these, my recommendations would be either the 1070ti or the 1080ti. The 1070ti is the best value, and my primary recommendation, and is great for anyone who wants to do gaming all the way up to 4K, or 1080p 100+ fps. I'd recommend the 1080ti if you absolutely must play at 4K with 60+ fps, on max settings (1070ti will do 60 fps at 4K on high just fine), or you want to do 1440p 100+ fps. 1080ti is also the most future proof, and it's really a level above all the other cards, it honestly should be called the 1180 or something, I doubt anything in the new lineup, whenever it releases, will be a substantial upgrade over a 1080ti, as they won't have new architecture.

    • Any idea how much the aorus and strix 1080tis are?

      • They don't have any aorus listed, rog strix is 1299/1040, rog strix oc is 1349/1080.

    • Hey just wondering if you where able to pick one up for me and I'll pay shipping pm me if interested (I can pay you)

      • Unfortunately I literally made an account to comment on this deal, so I can't pm in general lol.

        • O rip.
If you still interested let me know

    • Dam thats a good deal, do you know if they had some stock left? Which store too? That will be great thanks

      • I posted a link just below

        • Msy auburn ran oit of stock for 1070ti, also cheapest 1070ti in stock is 599,

        • @Bargain4Days:
shit, I was about to go to store for 1070 ti

    • Thanks for this list, 1070ti was out of stock :( Picked up the 1070 Galax for $485!

  • I picked the gigabyte 1080 G1 for $660 at the Clayton store.

Also you can get a 1070 ti for $503!!
    http://www.msy.com.au/wa/cannington/nvidia/20607-galax-nvidi…
If anyone wants to get me one and ship it over I'll pay the shipping and $510 for it lol

  • Damn would not mind a 1070 ti for $503 but it says out of stock online and they do not pick up on phone for stock check in Auburn
