I have the mens promaster and its a great dive watch …..mine was just over $300, so this as great deal as its the stainless steel band version, not the rubber one.

I tried to get genuine stainless citizen band for one of my promaster divers and it was $160 on its own.

Great find WN! Be sure to check if you're targeted for the code MAJESTIC. Should bring the price down to $161.73. Turns out my account was targeted even though I frequently shop on eBay, so this may be available to more people.

Thanks stuhtb, added to the description.

  • Nice looking watch!

I own a Seiko divers watch but it's huge at 48mm and I only wear it occasionally.

This is 33mm, which is a little bit on the small side. Any recommendations for a mid-size divers watch (preferably solar powered)?

Also, what makes this a ladies watch - is it just the size?

    • just the size, plenty of men wear watches this size however

      • yep, purely size … we just assume ladies wear smaller version of a watch ..omega used to seamaster in 3 sizes, large, mid and small and the mid was worn by lots of men and women …and it's why they quote sizes not gender.

    • A 48mm seiko diver would be a seiko tuna?

No sapphire crystal, no deal imo.

Looking forward to you finding one from a reputable watch making brand with these specs plus sapphire for around this price.

      • Not attacking the deal, just see mineral crystal as a false economy.

        • +2

All my watches are mineral crystal and I've never had an issue with them. I guess if you are hard on your watches it might be something to consider, but I don't have one scratch on mine.

    • +2

never had issue on my mineral glass watches, my sapphire ones are Wenger and Omega.

Trade off with mineral vs saphhire is brittleness, sapphire is harder to scratch, easier to shatter.

It's why some companies have "hyrid" glass formulations to try and get a balance between hardness and brittleness.

It's not cost cutting with the bigger brands like Seiko, Citizen, it's selection of material optimised to it's use.

      • In relation to Citizen, my wife's EcoDrive has a deep scratch across the mineral glass face. My EcoDrive with sapphire face looks brand new. Both are worn every day.

Edit: I guess I could get the face on hers replaced with sapphire, but it's a pain. I should've plumped for Sapphire in the first place.

  • Can I replace the metalic band?

    • +2

Yes it has standard lugs so you can put whatever strap you want on it.
It's always best to wait until you have the watch before buying a different strap so you can confirm the lug width yourself.

It's amazing how many times this question gets asked, isn't it? :-)

      • Thanks, tired of replacing batteries, this would be perfect for my wife but as she is a physio, she would like it more to have soft straps.

        • Lol and my wife just said she wanted a couple of Q&Q instead. She didn't like the Citizen. Vaya, vaya.

  • If I buy this and wear it, will people know I bought a girl's watch?

    • Probably not!
First time I saw it didn't recognise its a lady's watch. Looks very similar to mens one but size of it is 34 mm which is very small. You might have small hands though.

    • I would… and I'd jeer you for it… Toby.

      • Sweet, real-life troll-bait, I'll buy it then, cheers!

  • The Promaster is $159.93 shipped today with TA's 11% off code.

  • The Promaster is gone but they still have the Swatchy ones and other cheap Eco drives.
