how is this compare to this

Cheap shit vs fancy ass shit

      • +1

Key here is that both are shit.

If you get this, it's salvageable with a nice EQ that tones down the trebles. The ironic "fix" of one of the tweeter's positioning actually made it unbearably 'hot' compared to the 1st gen 'broken' ZS5. This also has a really nice metal build like Campfire's stuff.

Phase issues on the SE846, no amount of software can fix that.

Buy kz zs10 instead of this… Zs10 is the best earphone KZ has made so far…

    • Where's the best place to buy them? Amazon.com.au seems the most reputable so far.

      • I bought my ZS10’s from Banggood. Only took a week to get them delivered from China. They are AU$60 from there, but you can get 10% off your first order through the app (if you haven’t got it already).

      • You can buy it from aliexrpess for 50 bucks don't forget to buy silver plated cable as well for better sound quality…

        • $20 USD for some colours

        • don't forget to buy silver plated cable as well for better sound quality…

          Please don't…

        • @Tycn: Sorry to say this so much later, but are you saying please don't forget or please don't buy it?

        • @BradleyDS2:
dont buy it. the difference is basically a placebo lol. same as burn in tbh

ZS10s are better but current prices are high. If you do a search for its price you can see it used to go for much cheaper. If they do a promo again I might jump on it too and grab one or two more.

      • They are also currently on sale for around AU$54 for ones without the mic. You can use the US$3 off when spending $43 coupon on it.

the kz zs5v1 were better imo. the mids on the zs10 are a bit recessed and funny sounding. If you're looking for budget kings, Tin Audio T2 are much better than the kz zs10 and zs5.

edit: plus they're uncomfortable and you cant put them deep in your ear :(

      • I've been a fan of Chi-Fi since discovering the KZ ATE. Haven't heard of the Tin Audio T2 before. They're going for $50USD on AliExpress. I'll get a pair if you're saying they're better than the KZ ZS10 — which I ordered from GearBest 2 months ago and still haven't received yet.

        • Wait for sale. They go for $30 usd

        • @Feeblely: Biggest downside to the T2 for me would be the somewhat cool sounding and flat signature. Not V shape and bass is a bit weak. Ok if you like listening to jazz and classical, but not as good for bassy music.

  • These look very similar to the Revonext QT2's I recently bought which have been great so far.

As much as I love the bang-for-buck value of KZ gear, there are some issues they need to fix, eg: the silicone tips aren't very secure and become very loose after a while, to the point they stay in your ear when you remove the earphones.

    • Yeah, one of mine did that. Ended up buying some Comply-esque foams from Aliexpress to replace them with.

    • Hate that lost a few ear bud tips this way.

Just want a simple wireless solution for using in bed and on the train. Need no noise leakage for quiet carriage commuting in Sydney to blue mountains.

  • If anyone is hunting for reviews I use these guys for china IEM reviews:

  • What are the best IEMs for bass (specifically bass guitar)? I've got some ZSTs and ZS5s that I use on stage, and they're okay, but I'd like something with a bit more punch and clarity.
