5 year Australian Warranty from Citizen Australia

This is the watch currently on my wrist and in my Display Picture. An absolute beast of a watch.

Notable mention to the Citizen Eco Drive BM8470-03A for $99. An Eco-Drive for less than $100 Express Shipped (Was $179) is an absolute steal.

Also notable mention to the Citizen Promaster Altichron Steel BN4044-15E for $379. I've posted this watch before and it was well received. It's now been reduced from $469. If you don't like the look of this and prefer a more "Military/Rugged" look, then one to consider is the Citizen Promaster Altichron Nylon BN4045-12X for $379. Also down from $469.

    Good deal OP!

    • +5

      Thanks :)

        Nice post MathNerd.

        • +3

          Thanks WatchNerd!

  • Can someone please explain the difference between Seiko solar VS citizen eco drive? Both seem to be powered by light

    • +1

They're pretty much the same really - the face has a solar cell(s) that charge up a battery inside, which powers the watch. I wouldn't say there'd be much difference.

    • -2

I don't know which one came first, but I'd bet owning the trademark Solar would be valuable.

    • Just so you know, Eco-Drive came first and is the superior alternative.

  • +2

Some lovely timepieces there, thanks MathNerd.

  • +2

Word of warning, the waffle cone pattern on the dial of these watches will have you glancing at your watch far more often than you need to tell the time.

  • +1

Not the lowest it has been for the SRPB53K, any chance they can offer the same as the deal here before?

It's available with rubber divers strap fpr $285 atm

      https://www.skywatches.com.sg/reviews/seiko-prospex-automati…

Buy this and chuck a nice brown leather strap on it from the Sydney Strap Co.

      • +3

It's available with rubber divers strap fpr $285 atm

        That's 285USD.
Change the currency and it's 373.35AUD.

        • Crap. Sorry.

      • +3

Honestly the rubber strap it comes on is pretty nice, really soft and comfy.

        • I agree. Its a proper divers strap too. Designed to easily expand and sit over a wet suit if needed. The only issue I had was it was far too long for my tiny wrists.

  • +4

    Great post, MathNerd!

It will be a nice change from your daily watch.

    • +1

Haha, that's a great accompaniment to the all-time famous FX-82AU!

      • +3

        Freakin nerds.

        • +3

          Takes one to know one!

  • +3

So prices are available until June 30? Very tempted to buy but I feel like I shouldn't just pull the trigger too impulsively.

  • +1

Shit, I avoided the samurais last time by waiting for the deal to expire, not again… And pepsi this time god damnit!

    • I got the black last time …might have a couple of beers (James Squire Hop thief) and decide if I need a pepsi ….

though I should save coin for padi turtle ….

      • Yeah I've been eyeing those padi turtles myself…

      • I can't decide between the pepsi or the turtle…

Also want to trade in my Cocktail Time for one of the new limited edition Presage models. Any takers?

        • I just read the fine print ….the pepsi comes with rubber strap ….that kills it for me, preffer metal band and factory Seiko metal band would not be cheap as accessory … makes my non pepsi samurai look nice again.

        • I dont have any Presage but am looking to buy cocktail time (SARB065 not the new one). What's your selling price if I may ask?

    • Oh can't get strapcode bracelets for Samurai? That solves my problem then.

  • +1

Bought a pepsi Samurai last time they had it for this price (a couple of months ago) and love it (and I have a lot of Seiko divers). Delivery was quick and the watch had no alignment problems with chapter ring or crown (which can be a problem with Seiko divers in general for the chapter ring, and the Samurai in particular for the crown). Got it on the rubber strap but removed that straight away for a NATO so lack of bracelet didn’t bother me, particularly for the price.

    • Thanks Damonism for the info re alignment. Can anyone else confirm of any alignment issues? Just wanting to confirm if these are not on special due to this reason. Alignment problems with the crown/bezel, as indicated in one of the links above from skywatches. Cheers

      • Just picked it up today. Amazing watch. Rubber strap looks and wears better on the wrist. The crown misalignment issue - looks for me to me… depending on the angle your mind will play tricks… but as far as I’m concerned, the crown does not rub against the guards… so all good

  • Are Seiko Prospex SRPB51K made in Japan?

    • +5

The K designates they are not made in Japan, Japan-made ones end in a J.

      • Thanks.

      • Thanks for the info.

      • +1

My understanding is they're all made in same place (Malaysia?) but the ones ending J are designated for Japanese market, and the ones designated K are for the rest of the world.

You need to go up in range (and price!) to really get the ones made in Japan.

  • +3

Thanks OP. I'm considering the Black Samurai. I got the Blue Samurai last time when it was discounted to $329 from Starbuy and love it.

    • +1

Get it. Buy now, think later.

  • +2

Thanks op. Was almost going to pull the trigger yesterday. Got a Pepsi samurai!

  • Got the Blue Lagoon Limited Edition for a bit less than $600 AUD last year, regretting now.

  • +1

Thanks Op. Bought. Anyone know where I can get cheap replacement leather or stainless steel band? The rubber one doesn't do it for me.

    • +1

Maybe check out this ss bracelet.

      • Know where I can get an 'expensive' stainless steel band? Had a look at StrapCode and they don't do samurai :(

  • -1

smartwatches must really be eating into legacy watch sales…

    • +1

To be honest - I'd be surprised if they were. At least not for watches in this range. Maybe for Swatch etc.

  • Had the CC9025-51E on my eBay watch list for a while now but they still want $1599 for it on there. Any chance they will be adjusting eBay prices to match those listed here?

I will buy immediately if they do…

  • Another worth mentioning thats on sale for $249 is the SRPA75K Automatic
    https://www.starbuy.com.au/seiko-prospex-automatic-steel-lea…

  • Hi all, get receipt with these for trs?

    • +1

      Yes.
