  • Perfect timing. Thanks OP.
What does the Ozbargain community think about Winrun tyres? The reviews seem pretty good. It's for a Hyundai i30.

    • +9

Don't skimp on tyres. Winrun is not a reputable brand. Go for one of the major ones, i.e. Bridgestone, Michelin, etc.

      • +2

Agreed. Cheap tyres are usually OK in the dry but horrendous in the wet. I put on entry level Dunlops on my last car and it was like ice skating when wet. That $100 you save could cost you your next insurance excess… or worse. Best 'cheap' tyre I've had was the Kumho KU39. Good in the dry and OK in the wet but I found them noisy. I have Michelin PS4 and it only cost me $670 for a set of 235/40/18.

    • bought 1 pair of Winrun for the X5 and lasted 2 months have a crack on the inner sidewalls on both. The MFD was Nov 2017. Then Contacted Tyresales for the warranty claim and not helping by getting ignored after posting details and pictures.

If want to buy cheap tyres go to a Physical shops, but if you want to get a branded one then go with Tyresales. Even though I have my bad experience with tyresales on the warranty claim.

    • Yes, never skimp on tyres. Don't just buy a reputable brand, but at least the middle of the range of a reputable brand.

  • Don't forget you can price match/beat at Kmart Tyre and Auto

    • +3

I tried this with Kmart and Bob Jane over the past couple weeks, and both companies never called me back. So now TyreSales can have my money.

    • +2

Worked. Kmart beat the Tyresales sales price by 5% and got them fitted instantly. Turned a $170 tyre into a $95 tyre x 2. Free fitting and rotation and got a 4 wheel alignment for $39 too!

  • Perfect timing thanks, was going to be up for a bill of over $1000 before this deal, now I can get 4 bridgestone run-flats for $840.

  • +6

    I'm tyred of these sales.

  • Anyone have any experience or opinions with Conti comforts/contacts?

    • Conti is a really good rubber brand, you can definitely go with this :)

  • +3

UBER code works only when you purchase 4 or more tyres.

  • Can someone please suggest best popular tyres for Corolla.

    • -1

2011 Corolla - Using Goodride RP28 for last six months… 15000km and going strong… was okay in wet conditions….

  • Any experience with Radar Tyres? They have a 'Buy 3 Get 1 Free' promotion on those that stacks with this sale

  • Awesome deal for our small SUV. Thanks OP. Pay attention to the fact that some of the premium fitment centres give you a free alignment (saving $80, worth the further drive)

    • I cant seem to figure out where to look with regards to the alignment.
Could you maybe post a screenshot of the site where this info was displayed when making your purchase?
      Thanks!

      • +2

Hi, When you select a fitment centre it shows underneath whether its premium or not. You might have to snoop around different postcodes. The only one I could find in brisbane / south was in Bowen Hills.

  • +1

Even at that price they can't beat Tempe Tyres

    • -1

I beg to differ. they seemed alright for me, especially if you can still get the extra 5% off.

    • +1

I found the same thing looking around at prices… that Tempe is cheaper that is

  • Maybe I have weird size tyres, but always much cheaper for me at Bob Jane or Costco. Always seems like a scam when I look.

    • An example would be great.

    never mind

  • Thanks OP

Got 4 Good Year Tyres + delivery + alignment for my Honda CRV for $516

  • I added 4 Good Year for my Toyota with UBER coupon

Sorry, the 'UBER' code may not be applied on this promotion

  • Best to call around for pricing and don't assume this is cheap.
    They have Michelin PS4 225/45 R18 for $260.30ea ($274-5%)
I have got quotes for $250ea before the $100 cashback for buying 4 and even Jax tyres have them for $275ea minus $100 cashback.

  • I got bob jane to price match my quote from tyresales.com.au and give a free wheel alignment. They also offer a 3-month service at no additional charge to rotate the tires (and complete an addition wheel alignment if required).

  • Can't seem to get the code UBER to work on any choice of tyres/sizes etc.

  • UBER only works for 4 of the same tyre. Had to buy mine as 2 separate transactions of 2 each thanks to different front and rear sizes. Just got a sms to say they have been shipped (bought them on Wednesday 20th). Local bridgestone tyre shop couldn't come close to the price

  • It is still valid till 25/6/18.

  • +2

The deal has been extended til end of the month.

    • Yes, was lamenting having left it too late, finally checked my tyre size now. Could be better to buy now rather than wait until I have to buy tyres at short notice. Didn't rotate the tyres on my FWD car enough so swapped bald ones to the back and am waiting for the fronts to wear down.

  • Not impressed with it taking nearly a week for the tyres to arrive, my nominated fitting time being ignored, and having to arrange a time the following week to drop off my car for half a day at a premium fitment centre.

If I use them again I will get the tyres fitted at a place that is a tyre business rather than a car yard.

  • Code still works. Used it today.
