Current EoFY Lenovo Flash Sale — finishes on Friday 22 June. Most notably would be the OzBargain favourite ThinkPad E480. Same product $1075 3 weeks ago and now $1045 delivered:

ThinkPad E480

  • i7-8550U
  • 14" FHD IPS
  • 8GB DDR4
  • 256GB M.2 SSD
  • Radeon RX 550 2GB

Note that it comes with dedicated graphics RX 550 2GB that's significantly throttled with recent BIOS update to keep the thermal in check.

An interesting product on sale would be ThnkPad A475, and older AMD based laptop that's $999.

  • AMD A12-9800B
  • 14" FHD IPS
  • 8GB DDR4
  • 256GB M.2 SSD

A12-9800B is a quad-core 15W TDP CPU that's not very fast although it's more than adequate for most office tasks today. However A475 actually shares the same chase as ThinkPad T470 and has most goodies (split battery, docking port, enforced rollcage, etc however no Thunderbolt 3 as it's AMD) so it might be a good buy if you want a tough business laptop but don't mind it to be a bit slower.

ThinkPad T470 on the other hand is $200 more, at $1199 for a last-gen T-series is not bad.

  • i5-7200U
  • 14" FHD IPS
  • 8GB DDR4
  • 256GB M.2 SSD (upgrade to PCIe-NVMe as $0 option)

Unfortunately no current discount for extra warranty.

  • How many flash they have?

  • Good prices.
Shame right now I'm in the market for a 2in1 to use photoshop on :(

    • +1

same! would be nice to know what you find out to be a good option :)
I am leaning toward the yoga 730 but still too exy

      • I'm giving it time. The yoga series has seemed to be best right now.
But with all the EOFY sales coming out I dont want to buy something only for a better deal to come up.

Yoga or the hp x360 both look great.

What do you think of https://renewd.com.au/collections/microsoft/products/microso…

Itll be 799 once their $100 off code is used. Actually really considering it or https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/tablets/microsof…

I wanted a 2in1 but the surface pro may have to do at that price.

        • not sure… I am looking for an i7 as a minimum as I'd love to do some light video editing.

That surface is a 6th gen, i am not an expert but maybe it won't be future proof? The one at JB is a 7th gen.

Yes the x360 is very attractive too.

What I love is the Dell XPS but what is within my budget is not 2 in 1

          So hard to decide!

  • Good price, thanks scotty

…but also, darn. I just missed the recent E580 with bigger screen and no more deals for it :(

  • dont forget +$22 for 6cell battery which doubles your battery life

  • Is the E480 about the best it gets for a ~$1000 laptop?

And on that note, is it worth the cost savings to wait for another deal on the E480 with i5?

    • Depending on what you do with it. Judging from my own workload (browsing, text editing, software development, etc) and i5 is more than sufficient. Current deal is $899 for i5-8250U, 8GB & 256GB — I think it should be cheaper. So yeah, I'll wait for the next sale, which might be just a week away.

      • Yea I reckon that will be sufficient as well, and has recently been on promo for $799. So for $250 cost savings (assuming it goes on sale again soon), probably the better bet.

      • i5 16GB 256GB integrated graphic for $850 now that’s a good deal.

  • As great a deal as these are, it's hard to justify buying a new laptop at the moment when the performance of older, HDD-equipped models can be transformed with an SSD for less than $100.

  • Need to pull trigger before eofy. Hopefully another decent deal like earlier in the month appears again.

    • likewise, was gonna jump on this but forgot about it
