15.6" HP Pavilion DV6 (WW961PA) $699 Core i5, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD from 9289

183

Pretty cheap, but it's a pre order which is annoying.

Thoughts?

    Stock are coming soon!

We just receive the update from Hp already. the stock is on the way.

    • How long before it's in stock?

      • Anything better than 'coming soon'?

      • We just receive the update from Hp.

The stock will be coming with in 7 working day. ( if not trouble )

    • Hi, how much are transit fees to Melbourne? and can you share information regarding your warranty policies. Ta

  • Dupe.

though the link in the old post is now invalid. 9289 seems to have a new site coming up.

    • Yes we do have new website just up yesterday.

  • given it a +1, but really, that price isnt that much cheaper considering its display (1366 x 768)

  • my question is, is this a good machine? I only want it for home use, not a gamer etc. Any advice? i'm not tech savvy…

  • Cant pre-order it without adding the 8GB of ram option.. hmmmm

    • I agree, NEG as misleading (8GB = $819), until $699 option is returned.

      • +2

Probably an oversight by 9289, but very misleading if it's not. Hopefully a rep will clarify ASAP. :)

      • well its fixed now.

    • Not such a deal if this remains…

    • +2

its prob just a bug in their site tbh

on a side note, Dell charges about $200 for a 4GB ram upgrade so its erm not bad deal to have that 8gb too

      • +1

regarding the ram, true, but the ram upgrade is sort of overkill for a laptop on this end of the scale.

        • Yeah its not required for this laptop!

    • +1

      sorry

      There was a site error.

We have post it online again.

      Thanks

  • Quite a good deal imo :) most laptops at sub 800 have a worse graphics card.

That said, HP isn't the best brand I know for laptops.. still if you're not too fussed then it's still very good for its price.

  • sorry guys but how trust worthy are 9289.com.au? is there even a valid ABN number? and what about warranty etc?

    • +1

I've bought a router from them before. Came very nicely boxed and they were prompt with delivery. However, laptop is a different thing altogether.

      • I was thinking the same thing with Aldi Medion Notebooks.

      Should be good

Apparently me and some other posters here have no life :)

    • Bought a laptop from them last year, took 14 days to arrive, but arrived in perfect condition.

  • Very worth it!!! CPU might be a bit of a let down though.

    • +1

It's pretty good. Decent clock speed and IPC with 2 cores and hyperthreading :)

      • Sorry I believe I meant "clock speed and IPS" or IPC, the 2 above don't go together..

  • -4

    bloody misleading.. neg

    • +2

shouldn't you give the rep a chance to look into the matter before negging?

      • +3

That's not the OzB spirit…pitchforks out, chaaaaaaarrrrrrrge! :p

        • lol

    • I think it's probably a mistake. They just need to add a 4GB option, but let's wait for the rep to check it out.

  • +1 from me for the specs & price.

had a HP lappy dv6 for over a year now and it is excellent, cannot fault it.

the ones here saying that hp lappys are no good… could they quote the make & model number of the "perfect" lappys with same specs for around the same price please.

    • At this price this I think this is a good buy, but HP laptops are usually overpriced (for specs compared to some others) and/or of lower quality (overheating issues etc). There's a Compaq behind me (one of their basic models) and it can get annoying to game on since your hands heat up (heat isn't put out very well, it tends to just rise up to get out)

  • +2

    Sorry for the mistake.

We have just change it back,

Because we just switch to new site yesterday, that is why it happen.

    sorry !!!

  • It's not available any more?
Sorry but this item is currently unavailable.

Please check back at a later stage.

Hopefully there will be more deal like this when the new processor come out.

    • It seems to be available to me still

      • Nope, my still say the same thing, if I try to click on any of the radio button (None, 8GB) it change to:

"The selected product combination is currently unavailable."

        • Fully Sold out already!

          Sorry

        • wow that didn't last that long..

  • since this was pre order, can we pre order for the next batch?

  • this deal was posted 3 days ago and its still says available for preorder only,
i did some research and it looks like it has overheating issues, hp in general has high failure rate but the specs on this thing look really good.
