    Email just came through to me. Interestingly, the email contains a message
    "Forgotten your password?
    It's been awhile since you've used PayPal so you might need to reset your login details. Set up a new password easily here."

    The link at "here" directs to (https://epl.paypal-communication.com) instead of PayPal.com.
    This would be a great tactic to harvest PayPal credentials for dormant accounts and then empty the attached bank and credit card accounts. I was always taught that legit emails shouldn't contain links to reset password. Am I being too suspicious, or am I right to be concerned?

    I'll retract my neg if I can be sure that this is legit.

      Perhaps there is a phishing scam going around, purposely made to coincide with PayPals legit targeted offer? From a scamming perspective it would be a clever move.

      People will hear others talk about the legit offer from paypal, through friends, online discussion, here etc - and people will likely mistake the phishing scam for the real thing that has been validated by others.

      However, a bit of googling seems to reveal that although odd and somewhat alarming to a lot of people - epl.paypal-communication.com may actually just paypal using a third party for tracking and not a phishing scam. But I couldn't be bothered looking into it in too much depth so take what I saw with a grain of salt.

        A simple whois search would reveal so.

    I honestly don't see a point in posting targeted deals here. If you are on ozbargain you would be checking your emails and accounts constantly. I don't know anyone who doesn't check their email at least once a day. Posting targeted deals is just showing people what they can't have.
