FREEDOM2018

Surprised this has not been posted… OZB must have something against LootCrate?

Subbed for one month to try it out seeing as it cost me $24 for two crates. Usually ~$40 for one crate.

Hard to judge value of something with unspecified items. You can use the RRP, but that runs into the same issue of comparing prices against RRP that you get with anything else.

    What's generally in these lootcrates?

      What's generally in these lootcrates?

A bunch of shit you won't ever use

Sooooo, that's a 99% hit rate for stuff I buy here!

        • +1

At least here you know what you're getting and usually get an item that has good value for the price…

        • Exactly what I was going to say

    Found this on Facebook:

'Hi there! If you sign up for a 1-month crate subscription using the promo code, you will get 40% off the signup charge, and 1 free, past, random Loot Crate. If you sign up for a 3, 6, or 12-month subscription with the code, you'll get the discount and one free past random Loot Crate DX. The free crates are estimated to ship in August. -Stephanie'

So you get a random past crate for free.

I have had some negative experiences with Lootcrate; particularly around shipping and their stock availability. Their customer support is responsive, but if they are giving excuses for delays then its kind of pointless…

I have waited since the 22nd of May and still haven't got my lootcrate.

They have a paragraph in their FAQ specifically for Australians:

    "Update: Shipping Time for Australia

At this time, there seems to be a slow down with Australian Post deliveries. We expect most shipments to arrive around 2-4 full weeks after the “In transit to Australia Post” scan and will usually only update as far as clearing customs. We are in contact with our shipping carrier to look into these shipping times. "

I'm only against having useless shit. I really do not see the point in these lootcrates.

So every month you pay them $50-$100 to send you a box of random merchandise crap they're picked up at Reject Shop/NQR/Dimmys/leftover discount warehouse and you havr no choice or idea what it is. Hmmmm yes I can see how attractive this is.

I think I'd rather write a script to auto-buy all the Zapals/Gearbest/rosegal/Banggood wewkly specials. It'd be cheap and I migjty get some stuff of use.

    • If you do write that script, make sure you share it ;)

meh, $24 for 2 crates, gives the kids something to open, they love getting junk in the post

    • Funny that, looks like a lot of adults do as well.

  • They've gone downhill - especially the Wizarding World.

They reduced the number of items from 7+ to something like 4+ under the guise of 'higher quality' products. In the last crate, two of the five items were a double pack of socks (as in, in one pocket) in a mens XL. My size with them is Womens S. They promise me that the socks are a one-size-fits-all option. After three crates, I'm jumping ship to Geek Gear (if you're interested in an affiliate link, PM me).

With the GST tax, the Wizarding World one comes to ~$43 down from $72. Maybe worth $25.

Support has been very hit and miss - lots of cut and paste answers that don't actually answer the question. I had to wait for seven weeks for them to start investigating why my parcel hadn't tracked from its first scan.

  • They're now charging the Gerry tax…

  • I generally only subscribe to these when they have 50% off. They're just too hit and miss for me.

Also now that they have Loot Vault you can get things you actually want. In saying that my last Loot Vault order was a bit of a disaster. I usually buy mens tees but this time there were mainly womens sizes left so ordered those. Apparently their idea of a womens medium is an AUS XS.

    • their idea of a womens medium is an AUS XS

Is it made in China? Because if that's Asian sizing, it makes perfect sense.

    • Women's sizing in general is a disaster :\
(Yeah, I only buy men's tees as well)

      • Yes it is. It's very rare for me to buy women's t-shirts. I've noticed too that in stores like Jay Jays the women's tees are flimsier material and usually design-wise not great.

        • the massive neckline, pathetic sleeves, super tight cut and not much longer than a crop top. ugh.

        • @tdw: Yes!

  • And the missing details:

*FREEDOM2018 promo can be applied to new, reactivating or upgrading subscriptions offered by Loot Crate. Cannot be applied to Limited Edition crates, Loot Remix, Loot Fright, Star Trek Mission Crate, or Firefly Cargo Crate. Free Loot Crate applied to 1-month subscriptions and 1-crate bi-monthly & quarterly subscriptions. Free Loot Crate DX applied to 3, 6 & 12-month subscriptions, 3 & 6-crate bi-monthly & 4-crate quarterly subscriptions. Promo code valid until 7/6/18 at 9pm PT. Free crates ship in August.

    No Firefly, no deal

  • I wont buy anything from Lootcrate again. Ive been a big fan for years but In the last 12 months I have bought stuff several times from lootvault when sales to then wait 2-4 months for orders to arrive and then each order had something missing. They never contact me about missing items till I contact their support months later for them to say item no longer available and give me crap refund of items, but then ive seen each items that were missing in my orders still for sale on website??? Dispointed and no longer a customer.

  • well i wish i'd taken note of the delivery times - what a joke. Still haven't got mine from 2nd July. Seems like they could easily have sent the free one.

  • Here's their own status of delays:

    https://help.lootcrate.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010550512-Ne…

My crate is over 2 months delayed and the next one (due to ship this month) has not even been announced. I have cancelled.
