Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade 3 User Family Pack $179 @ DSE

360

It's getting cheaper, Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade for up to three PCs for $179 @ DSE.

This is excellent value and comes in at $60 per PC.

This product includes both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

Good Guys just had it on special at $198 and now sells it for $224.
I bought my copy a month ago through DSE Online during their 15% Paypal promotion, netting out at $199.

  • This is getting much closer to the US price, which is very good

  • I would be happy to pay $60 for one. Who really needs 3?

  • only an upgrade? so you will need xp or vista already installed

    • I think you can do a clean install. But not sure you should have win xp to go for this legitimately.

Remember that you need a valid qualifying previous version of Windows to use a Upgrade Windows 7, and to stop using (or uninstall) the qualifying OS while you have the upgrade installed. Microsoft only made doing a clean install from a upgrade Windows 7 possible to make it more convenient so you do not have to reinstall both the old Windows version (ex: Vista) and upgrade to Windows 7 everytime you needed or wanted to reinstall.

If you do not have a valid qualifying previous version of Windows, then you are violating the terms of Microsoft's Windows 7 End User License Agreement and could get your product key number invalidated by Microsoft. Plus, it is considered illegal.

    • could get your product key number invalidated by Microsoft.

      I doubt it very much.

How could they invalidate your product key? Do you have to enter the old key somewhere during the install process? Even if your key doesn't activate you can just call the Microsoft 1800 number say your are reinstalling and they will get it activated. No identifying information is collected.

Yea they can't invalidate your key. If you upgrading from xp you'd have to do a clean install anyway.

you could save yourself $180 and just install as many copies of ubuntu (or whatever flavour of linux your prefer) as you like.

    • +3

You very well could if Ubuntu or Linux is what you want, need or prefer. But this is a great deal for those that want, need or prefer Windows.

OTOH, if you want to use your PC instead of spending your life setting it up or tweaking it, this is a cracking deal.
