1100

$12 cheaper than the previous deal and includes extra savings mentioned below.

I just had some arrive and have no issues, they're great for lighting Detolf display cases from Ikea or various other projects.

Can also stack with the $15 off $300 discount code TAKE15, and as with the free shipping, the $300 counts before the in cart discount, making the price $15.497 shipped per 5 meter kit!

The kit includes:

  • 1 x 5 metre premium LED strip with 3M self-adhesive tape
  • 1 x LED driver with flex & plug
  • 4 x connector pieces for cutting & rejoining the LED strip

They don't have a switch, but good idea. I'll find one and get back to you in a couple of minutes.

      • why does it need a switch ?

    • +2

      Here you go, $2.60.

I'm going to get some for myself now :)

Don't forget to use Cashrewards and get a battery for the remote.

      • I thought these ones aren't dimmable?

so will those buttons just not work?

        • -1

Probably, I can't find any alternatives for a single colour LED strip though, and extra buttons aren't going to hurt.

        • +1

I thought these ones aren't dimmable?

They're not dimmable because they don't come with a dimmer.

That remote has a built-in dimmer, so since you're adding a dimmer to the strip, they will be dimmable.

      • Are you able to set different channels? I bought a few sets so if I buy a few of these won't it turn them all on/off?

        thanks

        • -1

Sadly they haven't arrived for me yet as I ordered today, so I can't tell you :P

I'm going to guess that at $2.60 each they all use the same channel and you can't set it though. Hopefully the signal is weak so you need to point, but it does state a working distance of >15 meters.

At a glance, this might be a better (although pricier) alternative.

I'm assuming you could also use any RGBW WiFi enabled one with an app, as they should have zone control, but then it'll have colour control that won't be usable since this is a single colour strip, so that might be annoying, and I don't know for certain if it will work.

I wonder if Project Lighting or a similar store might have something that can help with what you're after.

          @BradleyDS2:

I use the MiLight kit at home and it works well - both the LED strip controllers as well as GU10 bulbs. In my case I have an iBox (eg https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Milight-Led-WiFi-bo…) bridge so I can control them with the remote or my phone or via Home Assistant running on a 'pi. https://www.home-assistant.io/components/light.limitlessled/

Each controller can be assigned to one of four zones, and multiple controllers can be assigned to a single zone. If you want more than four zones, that's fine - you just need to associate the controllers with a different remote (or in my case, a different wifi bridge). 4 zones however is likely to be more than enough for most people. I actually have two bridges at my house simply because the GU10 lights outside for the balcony were too far away from the first bridge.

My existing LED strips are RGB/RGBW so I might need to get some single colour (FUT036) controllers for the new strips I ordered today (which I plan to put on the stairs)

FWIW It is/was sold as "LimitlessLED" in the USA, which now appears to have gone down the gurgler. The current iBox2 is what Limitless called their V6 bridge.

      • you mean the power adapter is too big that it covered the wall switch hence need to plug/unplug the wall socket to turn them on or off each time ?

        • Some people use power strips most of which don't have switches. These things should just be made with switches inbuilt. +50c manufacturing cost no doubt. Not everyone plugs them directly into a wall point or wants them on 24/7

    • Anyone know if these have a switch at all? Or one that is compatible/installable with them?

If you simply want to turn them on and off with a wired switch, you can just get a simple switch like this, or one with a dimmer.

      • +1

repost link to simple switch , thanks

        • Mmm, I must have not been paying attention when pasting!
Here is the correct link. It's available from local sellers for a bit more.

    • you mean the power adapter is too big that it covered the wall switch hence need to plug/unplug the wall socket to turn them on or off each time ?

  • It's should come with remote control for turn on and off

    • -1

It doesn't but to buy one costs 2.60.

  • Or using a smart plug control by mobile phone both at home or away

    • I ordered warm white by mistake. am I able to swap?

      • why? i though warm white creates a more warmth feeling?

        • -1

It's personal preference, personally I hate warm white with a passion, so I can understand where they're coming from.

  • is it expired? shows $119 for 2

    • -1

It's an in cart discount, if you go to your cart it should show the real price after it finishes loading completely.

      • cheers mate.

  • i got a bunning one lighting up my external stairs, its IP65, less than a month old and it went dim the last couple of nights, now wont turn on. Wonder whether this one would be better?

    • Should be better. IP ratings are just how much protection they have against physical objects and liquids, pretty sure these are also IP65. If the lights have gone dim that sounds like a design fault instead and I'd be returning it for my money back if I was you.

    • Just return them to Bunnings for a full refund or replacement as you are covered with a warranty.

      • Thanks, yeah did that, all sorted!

  • +1

    Thanks OP!! Purchased 2

  • Had troubles using it firefox (might be my extensions), but worked okay in chrome.

    • -1

Probably your extensions, I used WaterFox without any issues.

  • Anyone know if tax invoice will show RRP price or discounted price? Want to TRS it.
Checkout page shows discounted GST amount so not promising.

  • am I missing something, I add 6 to cart, to Melb but still shows shipping $18.xx?

  • Really noob question, but if there's only one driver (I understand this as the power point that plugs into a wall socket), then if I wanted to install the 5m strip at more than one location, I'm going to need a separate driver for each location?

    • Yes, separate drivers. Just buy a separate driver. There might even be a link to one in the thread already, or just ask.

    • +2

…assuming you mean you want to cut the 5m strip into two or more smaller segments and have them in different locations, you can run them all off the one driver if you join each strip by wire. If the locations are too far away to make this worthwhile, then you'll need a separate driver (which is the power pack that plugs into the 240V socket to provide the DC power used to 'drive' the lights). At these prices, you might as well just get a kit for each location….

      • Thanks!!!

  • great deal - ordered 2 for free delivery for $36.
    Nice noe

  • Rep, want to order 5 to Tasmania but shipping is around $35, anyways that can be reduced/free please!? :)

  • This is one of these high margin, cheap products that are in demand.
Probably cost the seller a few dollars and sell for $79.

    • Yep, probably. Cheap ones tend to fail over time or get dim or heat up though.

      • -1

Not sure why I was negged, I have both these and cheap ones and the difference in quality is enormous.

These have a proper silicon covering and 3m tape, they also run cool not hot. I got some from Aliexpress and the adhesive isn't very sticky, separates and tears, they also run hot reducing their lifespan and have no silicone covering protecting them.

  • Noooooo I missed it…. and I so wanted one!

  • +1

Yeah shipping is a killer on these, bring on free aus wide shopping please. It's not going to cost anymore

  • i waited too long :(

  • Did anyone get shipping information with their order? I got nothing from the company outside of my paypal transaction email.

    • -1

You should receive an order confirmation, then a shipping confirmation a few days later with a tracking number.

      • I got my tracking email 2 hours ago

  • +2

Mine arrived this afternoon (Melb). Fastway - rang door bell and were gone by the time I got there - just dumped it by the door and ran. Cracked open one of the blister packs - the (12V, 2Amp) power supply is compact, and I like the fact that both it and the power cable are white rather than black (making it easier to blend into a wall). I plugged it in, and it seems bright enough at the moment - will see if it stays that way over time. I bought the "Warm white", and it actually looks good ie not too warm. If anything, to my eyes I'd say it looks more like Daylight (4000k) than the stated 3000k. No matter - will still be fine for the stairs. thanks again OP & Rep.

    • mine arrived yesterday and i had a busted blister pack as well but its working just fine. i was also surprised at the color temp as it looks higher than 3000k to me but not too high so im pretty happy with it. Thanks for the post OP. Now to get my hands on that zigbee controller …

  • 7 days after order confirmation email, and I've not yet received a shipping confirmation email.
Sent an enquiry email yesterday, and got an automated ZenDesk ticket number, but no response yet.
Anyone else with no shipping confirmation yet?

    • -1

Ah, bugger. Mine all arrived yesterday, I ordered half a day before posting the deal as I wasn't sure if orders would be cancelled if there was a huge influx of them.

Hopefully they're just running a bit behind due to how many orders they got, as there was over 4k clicks on the deal.

Might be worth giving them a call instead, should be able to get a faster response that way.

  • Ordered several when this deal was posted, just got the courier dispatch email. Sent via Fastway so I expect a trip to collect them from the local depot in 3-4 business days. The price and hopefully the LED quality should make up for it.

    • Yeah, looks like they've been taking quite a while to ship them out.

I've got these and some others from Aliexpress and the difference in quality is huge whereas the price is the same, so I hope it's worth it for you.

  • Anyone experienced with cutting and connecting these strips, and can give some advise? I've had 2 goes, and both have failed to light beyond the cut/connector. Definantly cutting in the right place (scissors symbol between gold round terminal 'pads) and ensuring the strip is placed into the connector the right way (flat side upwards, facing the small plastic connector that you push into the socket). I need 3 connectors too, and can't get the small plastic connector out of the socket without breaking it legs/arms, so wary to give it another go.

    • -1

Yeah, the connectors it came with are, to put it bluntly, shit.

I'd recommend trying these or any other 8mm 2pin connectors instead, and make sure you remove the silicon on the area you're connecting.

Sorry, I should have noted that when I posted the deal.

Mod: Fixed link and republished comment

    • -1

Whoops, tried to respond but my comment was automatically removed. Must have had some extra stuff in the aliexpress link.

Anyway, sorry about that, the connectors it comes with are, to put it bluntly, shit.

Any alternative 8mm 2pin connectors should work. The ones I'm using are on Aliexpress and titled "8mm 2 pin led strip connector 3528 led extension cable wire accessories both end with connector 10pcs/lot", cost $4 but someone else might be selling them cheaper. They have a clip that can be disconnected and reconnected.

Don't forget to remove the silicon where you're connecting it (I'm sure you are, but just thought it might be worth mentioning).
