    No pomegranates!

  • Where are they getting pomegranates in the middle of winter?

95% of Australian pomegranates come from California

      • I'm surprised, considering how easily they grow in my backyard without fertiliser or pest control etc.

        • Do they really? Might look into growing some.

        • @Mrs W:

They're fairly resilient and pest-free unless you're in a fruit fly area, then I wouldn't bother.

Same with guava, easy to grow but fruit fly love them.

        • @Scab:

I'm in Perth, similar climate to California.

The medflies ( Mediterranean fruit fly) are bad lately, but did not bother the pomegranates.
Growing citrus has become very difficult.
It may have been luck with the time of fruiting.

JV: I thought they came from England?

  • I thought they came from the back end of a baboon.

  • Meh, I grow my own. Average weight about 600 grams each. Ive had them as big as 800 grams. The supermarket ones are no where near that size.

  • how loose?
