Whats the max length on USB 3.0 that will work with external Hard drives?

I dunno but I was interedted to find out so I looked on Google. The answer is a little unclear to an exact measurement but here's some advice
Unlike previous standards, the USB 3.0 standard does not specify a maximum cable length, requiring only that all cables meet an electrical specification: for copper cabling with AWG 26 wires, the maximum practical length is 1.3 meters (4.3 ft)

Which leads us back to chuneeperformance's question above - does this cable have AWG wiring?
Well if it doesn't, seemingly the sky is the limit but I wouldn't go running usb3 cabling through your walls and across any great distance.

Not the clearest answer but I think you're relatively safe if you're planning on using cables/extensions within 1.3m of length

@itsfree: Ha ha… yeah it does look odd, was on my phone and copied and pasted the title and was restricted by the number of allowed characters. In hindsight I should have omitted 'charging and data' from the title.
In my defence, I did make sure to list 0.5m was USB 3.0 and the 1-1.5m was USB 2.0.
