Why would I pick this over something like https://www.zoho.com/mail/ ? Free for up to 25 users, with 5GB/user mailbox.

      Own domain name

      Local support ?

Zoho has free own domain hosting & great support. It includes more than email in free tier, just have a look.

Zoho free plan is Webmail access only

      • +1

My free Zoho plan(s) work fine with imap too.

        • Your plan is grandfathered, New signups for quite a period of time now have only included webmail access on their free tier email product.

    • +1

That appears to be web based only. You can't use a standard email app, and must use their app on portable devices. So not a real email solution.

      • +2

It works with the standard email app in my phone and I am using my own domain too.

        • In that case cool. Their web page seemed to indicate they have their own office and CRM suite - I guess they were just trying to steer people that way.

        • As I have mentioned above this feature is no longer available on new free plans Any one that was signed up before a certain time period has been grandfathered.

      • Zoho paid plans mail can use any standard app, desktop or mobile based. https://www.zoho.com/mail/help/imap-access.html

      • +1

My plan is still free as I have not reach 25 users and I can use both the web based and the mail apps on iOS and Android.

        • And you were fortunate enough to sign up before the cut-off where they downgraded the free offering to only have webmail access.

    • +1

This has ended up being a great plug for zoho. I am going to give them a go :)

      • Unfortunately you will only get webmail access. However you can still use a single custom domain name for free.

    • +1

The free Zoho finished earlier this year. Any account created before then was grandfathered. Any newer ones are webmail only; otherwise $2 a month per user.

  • i use ZohoMail. Got a few domains and using their mail server for free, upto 25 users. And once I had a problem with the config and they actually provided support even if I am not paying them yet. :) great service!

    • IMAP and SMTP still works for the free plan, despite them saying its webmail only?

      • yep! it's on my iPhone and I can send and receive email using SMTP.

      • IMAP is disabled for me on the free Zoho plan..

        • That would be no good, perhaps something is broken in their config for you.

        • IMAP and SMTP still works for the free plan, despite them saying its webmail only?

mouth, Users just got grandfathered if they were signed up before before a certain cut-off period.

IMAP is disabled for me on the free Zoho plan.

Underlord, I'm guessing because you're a relatively recent signup?

That would be no good, perhaps something is broken in their config for you.

Major Mess, My guess is his account was made after they killed the functionality and before the the grandfathering cut-off date.

      • When I created a new one, it wouldn't let me enable IMAP in the config settings. Kept saying I needed a paid plan to enable.

    • Can you use them as a secondary mx(probably then have to then use a POP3 connector to check for any missed mail)? I noticed they use a host off your domain for the webmail address. Are they after your whole domain management, or do they get the domain owner to add a record for the host?

      • My domain registrar is NameCheap and just modified the Mx settings to point to Zoho's server.

    • Are you out of the free trial period? imap and smtp were disabled for me after the free trial period expired.

  • can you use the free zoho tier with outlook. I assume you can if you can configure iOS/android apps.

  • Hi Friends

Our email solution is not webmail access but can be configured in outlook too.

    Thanks
    swh team

  • No restrictions at all. Imap as well.

    Thanks
    Swh team

  • Is it possible to domain forward where the email address does not exist on your server?

    • A catch-all :p

  • I'm using google apps :p
