With the recent shopping bag fiasco at Coles and Woolworths, these seem like a good option going forward.

You can buy it here from an Australian seller for $7 - https://www.ebay.com.au/i/132674465652?chn=ps

That's one of those shifty listings. It looks like you get 4 but its only one bag for $7, to get four is $29.

      • -3

Select the colour from the dropdown from 1pc blue to 4pc 4 colours and see the price change

        • @Chickenleg:

          I stand corrected :P

        • +2

Definately shows AU $28.88 for x4, $6.99 for x1 blue one.

        • +1

Not only that they use the express post logo and to get express you have to add to cart then select express and the cost is added.

      • +2

This "shifty listings" is so annoying! You have to spend x10 the amount of time to go through these shi#ty deals before you find the item you want.I wish there was an option to hide these deals

    • +2

Whoops but you can them from Aldi for $20.

      • Yep , once every 2 years or so….

  • Even howards storage got it for the same price. Why buy from there?

    • Did you mean this? If so, it's twice the price

  • For the grocery-shopper who has everything.

  • +2

I'm not sure, but I think they're $20 at my local IGA.

Looks like the old ladies with their Shopping Cart Trolley Bags were ahead of their time -
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Shopping-Cart-Carts-Trolley-Bag-…

    AU $29.90

    May be a good idea?

    • +1

Those shopping trolley are shit. Soon as you load it up with a substantial weight the wheels will break.

I ended up getting this instead.

      https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/mega-cart-…

      • What bag Diddy you attach?

        • +2

          Puff?

        • Depending on what i need to wheel around.

I use the bag from a broken shopping cart trolley i had before.

But if the stuff im buying are in boxes i just strap them in with occy straps.

      • How much stuff do you put in it? We've been using one of these to market shop for years. If you get a dud one then the wheels will come off but if you get a decent one then they work pretty good.

      • Good for hauling 100 x half-price dr oetker pizzas

        • Or 5 full boxes of timtams (24 pack each box) when on sale for $1.82 each pack.

  • +3

what is the point to separate in the cart ….you still need to take out of these bags to scan at register and then put back into a bag ….seems like double handling, why not just put it all into the cart, scan at checkout and then put into bags ?

Get Aldi trolley. It’s just a gold coin donation

  • Shipping $1.96
    Total $22.80

  • Bought two, shipping was free

  • This costs $50 here lol http://packingsorted.com.au

  • Just as a sideline - has anyone bought, and used, one of the shopping trolley release tools?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Retractable-Removable-Shopping-T…

    • Why would you - woolies still have the little plastic coin keychain clip on that if you ask nicely they give you for free. $4 for the release tool is just silly.

edit … after reading the entire description this does aldi as well - shows how often I use a trolley at aldi .. I still think $4 is a rip.

      • They have it for 65c at Woollies last seen also you have to find another trolley to plug into to get it back. You can pay a lot more for this.

    • Yes, I have one. It looks a bit ugly (I've put it on my keyring) but it works a treat and saves the hassle of needing a gold coin. I use it weekly in Woolies and Aldi trolleys. At first I thought you had to leave it in the whole time like you do with the coin, then I realised you can remove it while the trolley is in use. I'm happy with it!

    • +1

I've 3D printed a few and handed them out plus use them myself.

Great for when there is no connector available to eject your Aldi Token / Coin. Also handy when someone putting their trolley back gets caught up on their phone for an excessively long time and you are too timid to ask them to move.

      • Also handy when someone putting their trolley back gets caught up on their phone for an excessively long time and you are too timid to ask them to move.

What, you then steal their trolley coin?

        • +2

No, I simply leave my trolley right behind them and walk away to watch their eyes light up with greed as they think about the gold coin someone has carelessly discarded due to impatience.

Then the disappointment of returning the trolley to it's rightful spot only to leave empty handed.

      • We considered that but we would need to buy a 3D printer, which adds up to a lot of $1 coins. Pity you are in NSW or I would put an order in :)

        • PM me your address (if you feel OK about it) and I'll post you one.

        • @BaryGusey: thanks for the offer, very kind of you.

  • I just put all the groceries back in the trolley at checkout and push the trolley home.
Then take it back fortnite style when I'm going grocery shopping again !

    • +1

Alas the trolley won't fit in my car…. I've tried so many times. Especially after the cops reckon its illegal to tie to the back of the car and tow it home. I mean i only hit that little old lady on the footpath once going round the roundabout. Bloody nazis

    • We live near one of the housing commission flats and they had an area with a whole herd of trolleys all chained together. I presume the families push the trolley to the flats then link them together to get their coins back. I was just about to ring Coles to notify them when they all disappeared, I presume they have a deal with the supermarkets to collect them every so often.

  • I ended up buying a few hundred plastic bags. At the check out I give some to the check out chick and they put it in their bag machine thing. When done she gives me back the remainder and I chuck it in the back of the car.

  • With that money you can buy those 15 cent bags over 130 times.
