Yep think you can but I'll let someone else confirm. I only say yes because I recall others saying it was possible but haven't done it myself.

  • Do you count as a new customer if you just activate a new sim phone number?

I am currently on a kogan 32gb plan. Planning to activate another one under the same name but not porting.

Do you count as a new customer if you just activate a new sim phone number?

      Yes

      • +1

        thanks for that!
        :D

    Thanks OP bought :)

    • Damn you could've bought this!

      • +1

It was out of stock at that time of the day.

        • Ah ok didn't realise. Wait - how do you know that though?

          • +1

@illumination: I was looking at purchasing 1 myself that's when I relised it was out of stock. Thought about purchasing this 1 here but I held off. Lucky I did as the other one came back in stock late yesterday.

  • If I just want to use the sim to make a hotspot to share the data, what device do I need to get?

One of the vodafone hotspot devices since kogan uses vodafone network?

    Thanks.

    • +1

You could use your phone, as long as it's unlocked

Or any WiFi modem that takes a SIM, again, unlocked.

      That's my understanding.

    • got myself this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/434560 and purchase unlock code …using kogan for few days right now.

  • How can you buy multiples?

    • With more money.

      • Only allows one per cart?

        • +2

          One per cart per order

i.e. you can have multiple orders, but each order can only consist of one

  • i know it says up to 10 days delivery but whats the average delivery period?

    • approx 3 days to Sydney in my experiences

  • can i port out from voda to kogan without issue and/or delay?

  • >"The advantage of this deal is the extended period of almost 7 months you have
    >in which to activate;"

    Do you mean 7 weeks?
Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 28/02/2019

Deal was originally posted 2 Aug 2018.

  • Available for purchase until 31 January 2019

Where is this information? I don't even know how to find this deal from the Kogan website or Google.

    • Why was the deal expiry moved forward a month?

  • guys, how long Kogan holding the phone number after expire? my first phone number need to park… considering port my first phone number to $4.9 and need to hold it when the plan expire in 30 days for around 30-33 days?

during this 30-33 days my daily driver currently used phone number ported to voda and after that port first phone number back to voda for parking..

    • You can receive calls for 20 days, then they release the number after 90 days in total.

      https://help.koganmobile.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/217391527-…

      • thanks, if that the case that Kogan release after 90 days then i'm going port my 1st phone number and must be hold it for 30 days..i don't want to lose this phone number. this number need parking on vodafone for 365 days again…

        • I'm using amaysim postpaid for number parking. It is free of charge and doesn't expire.

          • @zzymurgy: Amaysim postpaid? never hear about this…can't find any info about it

            • +1

@apokalypsez: Apologies, looks like it has been discontinued and grandfathered.
(Can't really blame them, keeping my number active while getting no money out of me couldn't be profitable)

              https://www.amaysim.com.au/help/mobile/manage-account/switch…

There might be other options though. Personally I would look at the $1 per month on TPG mobile

              • +1

@zzymurgy: Don't go for the $1 TPG (min charge is $31). Go with something like Aldi which is $15 a year.

            • @apokalypsez: I think Amaysim prepaid keeps your numbers active for one year from the day that service starts. Just login two numbers obtained from January cashback deal, both expires Jan/Feb 2020. That's long enough for other options later.

      • Kogan is so mean in this situation while Vodafone prepaid allows incoming activities for up to 395 days from the last recharge.

  • TPG home phone and Net is down…it seems i needed for data, what happen if register over 5 sim card over upcoming week?

who use this for data only with over 10 also sims? my household watching youtube which gonna killing data…how much data consume if one of my household consume 1 hours on youtube?

    • From what I have been told by Kogan live chat staff is that you can only connect 4-5 ( got two different figures from two separate staff ) Kogan sims on one account meaning same name and email address AND using SAME Credit Card.

So if you want to activate more than 4-5 Kogan sims in 30 days you either use different credit card, different name/email/credit card, or stagger the activation with one week buffer, than activate up to the max when oldest expires.

      • -1

best bet is to port out use other carrier like vodaphone and park number for next months around march….

        • +1

Why port out? He just wants to activate as many of these cheap sims in a month to get maximum data possible.

  • Can anyone tell me whether the sim pack/code XL I purchased few months ago before the extension announcement would also have the date extended to 30th April?

Or only purchases made after the announcement date?

    • +1

I'm not sure personally, but good question and I have a hunch only those bought after the extension will also get the voucher validity extended.

      • Think your hunch might be correct :-)

    • I remember you can go through the process of redeeming the voucher but not proceed with the final step, it should show you the expiry date.

      • Cheers, can try that.

  • +2

Thanks, almost bought the medium plan for much more.

  • remember you can only use a ported into Kogan number once as you cannot use the ported in number again as you cannot port in a Kogan number into another Kogan account.if you want to keep the number you have to recharge the sim you are are using.

  • Looking fro 365 of it, half priced :D

  • The voucher code doesn't seem to be emailed straight away now… Anyone know when it arrives?

  • Actually they did go to spam - but because it's a alternate email being fwded to my main account, the spam folder isn't fwded.
    Crisis averted!

    • Haha good to know! So how long did it actually take…? Still instant?

      • +1

Just bought 1 today. Code used to arrived almost instantly. Today it took about an hour.

    • 🙄🙄

      • Yep within a few hours. Never actually realised the spam folder wasn't fwded

  • +1

OP, should update to include expiry is now 11:59pm AEST on 31/07/2019 :)
