    No android auto?

    • Correct.

    • I'm gonna assume no, doesn't say anywhere in the description.

    Does it have B28?

I bought one last month and installed on my Mazda 2, plus the fascia $90 and installation fee of $280.
The response time is good, not lagging. Apple car play, the rearview camera works without any drama. That's the biggest improvement, so I am happy with its performance.
    Only have some small complaints,
One difference from my original car unit is it has a small fan to cool down the unit. I can hear the fan noise in the very quiet environment. When the car engine running, you could not hear it. I have not used it in summer, so I don't know if it can handle the summer heat. The other annoying thing is it needs about half a minute to start up, I guess all this kind of thing need that.
Another thing is the buttons on the left side, it is not easy to reach and push the correct button when driving. The next model up is 5150, the buttons are at the bottom, so I presume it should be easier to get the right button.
When you are using Apple car play, you can't use the blue-tooth phone connection. That means you can only use the Apple car play mobile function. When disconnecting the Apple car play, the blue-tooth phone function works with 2 mobile phones.
Occasionally it has the software malfunction, but when next time restarted it recovered.

    • Does it wire to the steering wheel buttons as well?

      • It supports this function, but because my car does not have the steering wheel buttons, I did not use this function.

    • $280 installation? That's just ridiculous

      • Also probably the reason why hardly any aftermarket stereo are overly popular….

      • Yes, it is. The work took the technician one and half hours. My camera was installed underneath the rego, it was too low. The best position is about one meter above the ground.

        • The best position is about one meter above the ground.

Bit hard to install on a Mazda2 like that when there's no area to place it, unless you want holes drilled into the tailgate and have the camera stick out like a sore thumb…

        • @PinzVidz: obsolutly correct

    • Did you buy the head unit, camera and get it installed by the people who sold them to you, or did you buy the hardware separately and got someone else to install?

      • Pioneer has their appointed dealer(for example, Autobarn) to install it, but you can find other independent installers.

  • Sold out damn it

  • Would buy if it had Android Auto. Nevertheless, great price for an Apple CarPlay unit.

Also, CarPlay is such an awful name.

    • Wondering if I can use my daughters ipad to launch Apple car play maps. I have an Android…
Did order one! Expected to arrive Friday.

      • Should be able to. You'd want an LTE enabled iPad though for assisted GPS.

        I could be wrong.

        • Daughters ipad is a Samsung lte. Will give it a go when it arrives.

        • @R3XNebular:

Hmm…hm? It's either an iPad or it isn't

        • @Gharvey Snruff:
Wow had a brain fart. Was typing and thinking. Daughter had an ipad I have an Samsung lte. No idea why I typed that lol disregard.

      • CarPlay doesn't work with iPads or iPods, only iPhones.
