      can abseil down the wall, which for kids is part of the fun, bit harder if they are just climbing a local tree, also falling from 10M with a safety harness is safer than falling 10M from a tree.

      It says "free climbing", hopefully that include gear rental also, not just climb time.

        FYI I know that the 9 Degrees at Alexandria and Rydlemere are Bouldering only, which means not very high climbs and no harness/abseiling.
        However still high enough to require decent mats to land on if you do fall and some care has to be taken, and honestly a lot of fun and worth it even if you had to pay.

          BlocHaus in Canberra is also bouldering only. It's heaps of fun and I definitely recommend giving it a try!

        It would depend on the climbing centre, examples below:

        BlocHaus, ACT - "Newbies climb for FREE on the day!! So share the gift of climbing and bring a friend!"
        Northside Boulders, VIC - "FREE climbing for A FRIEND of MEMBERSHIP and 10x PASS holders."
        9 Degrees, NSW - "Entry is free of charge if you have never climbed at a 9 degrees gym before."

    In the Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym in Villawood, it's not free but 50% off climbing between the hours of 2pm and 5pm on the 18th of August - see link below.

      Happy Global Climbing Day!

      Quick reminder, if you are planning on visiting one of our venues today we're offering free climbing for all first time visitors of Urban Climb between 2pm & 5pm on Saturday August 18.

      We have a bunch of epic North Face gear we're going to be giving away throughout the afternoon. We've got a North Face duffle bag at each of our venues being raffled off, and 6 North Face backpacks at West End. We'll also have several North Face chalk bags and caps to give away, so we'll be running plenty of mini competitions at West End throughout the afternoon.
