    No limit re: gift cards

    • No limit re: Woolworths either yeah?

      • If you look at the T&Cs I think you only get one points bonus per Everyday Rewards account for each promotional period. (Well, it was for previous promotions, couldn't see in the catalogue beginning 8th August).

Netflix price is going up so fast these days

Er … is it? Didn't the price increase once?

    • I think it's slated to go up again in the not too distant future: https://bgr.com/2018/07/12/netflix-price-increase-testing-ex…

I would not exactly call that a price increase. They are experimenting with more expensive options that add extra features like HDR.

        • +1

They already have HDR. It’s a price increase in disguise.

        • @stickyfingers: Exactly.

        • @stickyfingers:

But they'll add more HDR if people pay for it.

        • Its pretty average HDR anyway. Nowhere near a good as on discs/remux.

        • @Xizor: I prefer to just adjust my TV's contrast

@stickyfingers: No idea why I'm getting negged for a truthful fact shown in the article?

Not worth it for me as I pay through iTunes gift cards. Which you can usually pick up 15-20% off.

    • Is there a way to convert it across from Netflix to ITunes payment method?

      • +5

Yep, just use up your Netflix gift card credit if you have any left.. then put in a cancel request. Load your iTunes gift cards into your iTunes account if you haven't already. Once Netflix expires at end of current billing period you can re-subscribe using iTunes. Load your iTunes gift cards into your iTunes account if you haven't already.

This will keep your Netflix favourites/watchlist/personal settings.

        • +3

Also, need an iOS device for this, I believe

        • Between cancelling the current subscription and starting the next one my settings will carry over for sure right? This part is freaking me out but I think I'm onboard to switch to iTunes billing.

        • @Penpinch: Your settings??

        • @YogaPants:
I'm guessing watched shows, current episodes, my list etc

        • @Penpinch:

Penpinch: yes. it will carry over for sure.

Reference: I've done exactly this - moved from Netflix direct payment to iTunes payment - as the iTunes cards can often come up at 15-20% off during the year and you can get more consistent discounting plus you can use it for a couple of other things (e.g. buying iCloud membership at a discount).

          BDL gave pretty exact instructions.

We bought a years worth of iTunes (for Netflix) the last time there was a 20% off and basically locked in a 20% discount effectively for a year of Netflix. At $20/month that was about $50 being saved..

        • @Penpinch: Yes, they will :) fear not!

Would this count towards a $50 spend criteria for Woolies bonus points? I have a spend $50 for 2 weeks for 3500 points.

    • +3

Not unless they stuff up. Gift cards don't count

    • +1

Like spillmill said… the e-mail fine print reads:

Qualifying amount excludes purchases of.. Gift Cards (including iTunes)

    • Damn, I have to spend $180pw to get 1800pts a week. The cost of sharing my card on family members phone I guess.

  • Do these cards work with a US Netflix account?

    • Netflix is a global service, it depends which country you access it from to what content is shown. Try a VPN service if you want to spoof Netflix into thinking you're in the USA.

      • Thanks - I realise this and have been running Netflix in this way for a couple of years now :-) The account was originally setup on the Netflix USA site - my question is "can Netflix gift cards purchased in Australia be used with a Netflix account setup in the USA?"

    • No they don't. Believe me, I've tried. :)

      • Awesome - thanks heaps :-)

  • I got two cards last week at Coles with the 2,000 flybuys points. Netflix now paid up till March

    • Did they allow multiple purchases for 2x points or did you just buy a couple just because?

      • +1

They only allowed one per Flybuys card as per T&Cs. I used two different Flybuys accounts (different people) to buy two.

      Cool story, bro.

      • I thought it kinda went down hill after the first act.

I'd recommend using the iTunes cards (at a consistent 15% off) for netflix so for me this isn't a deal I'd participate in.
