You can look forward to your 3 matches once you finish.
One who won’t even be living in the same state as you
One who hasn’t used the website in 3 years, and
One who is a dude pretending to be a girl.

        Same for E-Harmony …

To whoever reported me I’m not associated with eharmony whatsoever. I wanted to make the post sound funny. It’s a promotion on their website and it shows it on the homepage.

    Mostly 1 star reviews.
Nigerian scammers have more ethics it seems ;)

They make this site look good

      • Wow some of the reviews on there. Do people really spend that long moping around feeling sorry for themselves?

      • +4

The users are mostly rude and arrogant who like to make fun of each other.

I wouldn't want it any other way. wipes away a tear

Don't forget you can review all your matches for free :)

Seriously though, I just came for the comments.

No. thank you! I'm happy with my Nigerian prince.

  • Anyone had any success on it in the past or free dating apps are better?

    • My partners mum tried it and she said all she encountered were seedy men looking for one thing. The one guy that treated her with decency was actually married LOL.

        You mean bargains?

I met my now wife through eHarmony. The monetary savings on the membership fee at the time were soon offset by the cost of wedding, obstetrician visits, kids, nappies…, but still definitely worth it and a good deal overall from my perspective.
I'd say that their matching system seems to work best for people who are emotionally self aware and/or looking to grow personally through the guided discussion and early dating experiences, rather than just looking for a partner. I'd expect it wouldn't be the best site for everyone, but that's the case with most aspects of life.

      • Also met my wife on eharmony back in 2013.

Managed to slay a few dragons to get to the princess along the way too…..I guess tinder came along and changed the number of people on the site…..

      • I've been rejected twice to have a profile on their site (as I was part of the population they found to be 'unsuitable') and the one time I got on there the matches were terrible. They were prioritising things that I had told them were not my priority.

I've heard that their system relies mostly on one metric to match people - if they're dominant or passive in a relationship. Being more complicated than that, 2/3 times eHarmony couldn't help.

      • So are you saying it was a poor return on investment? :)

    • Not sure if this helps you now, but I'm under 30, female, and found it completely crap. It's the same old throw all the singles in a bucket and see what falls out approach. Although the one guy I did date briefly from there did say he was getting messaged from girls fairly regularly. I received maybe a handful of guys reaching out and was ignored by most of the people I reached out to. I wouldn't spend money on it again.

      • You're lucky you're not a guy!

        • Honestly with the nature of online dating and 'swiping' I think it's shitty for both genders. People have become too apathetic. A match doesn't mean anything to most people anymore and people are happy to ignore those who actually bother communicating. You'd be surprised the number of guys who brush you off when you actually ask them to meet up for a drink.

If you're 30+ and single, just give up. It isn't happening for you.

If it's so good, why do you need more than 3 months to find your soulmate?

    • not everybody's looking for a soulmate. actually the idea of finding the soulmate via online dating is not so appealing to many people.

      • Dude, look at their advertising. It isn't geared towards casual flings. That's Tinder you're thinking of.

    • Well it's not like it's good for them if you actually find someone because then you aren't a potential or a paying customer anymore.

      • Exactly my point.

Decent discount. Going to run this purchase by my wife first.

    • Try Ashley Madison instead. Granted 95% of the time you'll be talking to bots but maybe the wife would prefer that?

      • -1

Might as well tatoo "I'm scum" on your forehead and while your at it quit your job.

        • No sense of humour or burned by Ashley Madison?

    • Don't you mean your first wife?

For $137 you can sign up to the premiums of a few good apps, OkCupid, Badoo, PoF & Tinder for a few months I reckon. Your future partner might be an OZBargainer who wouldn't pay that much for these services haha..
