      • Let me know if you get the $59/month, the image is for the $39/month plan which has no international calls so I'm keen on the $59 plan too. Thanks!

        • Will do, will check it out tomorrow

        • Hi, signed up to 59 per month plan - confirming it's 10$ off (the original $69) and you receive the $200 jb voucher. As you say $59 comes with international calls

    • This is what im after!
Ill head into jb today.. If they wont do it then ill sign up to this

    • Can anyone find the link to the deal on the JB website?

      • Was just in jb..
I cant get it since im with boost…
        (or belong any tesltra reseller)
Can get the deal with a new number.. But no $200 jb voucher..
Jb voucher is for porting only.

I will have to port to another company for 30 days and go back

    • +6

Just to confirm this offer is $39 ($39 after the $10 port in credit) for porting customers, 20gb total data (15gb+5gb bonus data), unlimited calls and SMS to Australian numbers and $200 gift card for 12 months. I can confirm as a employee of JB hi Fi that this offer is currently running for all port in customers to a Telstra network. International calls can be added in for $10 extra per month per selected countries and this is ONLY for new port in customers. Hope this helps. :)

Hi do you know when is the end date for this jb hifi deal? Im on lebara at the moment with my plan expiring next month..Should I bite the bullet now or hold on til next month…

        • I don't have access to an official end date at the moment. I'd say the earlier you get it, the better but I wouldn't be able to say when it would end. These offers usually don't last very long.

      • I'm not postpaying $50 for a lesser international calls deal than I was getting from Telstra for $40 prepaid a couple of years ago, and am getting from Optus postpaid (with EPL) for $37 now.

        Madness to even contemplate it.

  • +2

Haha just contracted with Optus yesterday on the $36/30gb deal. Should have waited :P

  • +1

No sharing data between accounts on these plans.

    • Yeah, shittest part of it all if you ask me. I'll be staying on my existing plan until they drag me by the hair.

  • +1

If anyone does this on live chat please post a screen shot and the agents name so i can re contract. Thanks

    • I had jafar

    • I had Tabindah, was quite helpful.

  • It’s a little unclear so I’ll ask the question.

Is the data Available per month or for the life of the contract which I’m reading as 12 months?

Apologies if this is a stupid question.

  • +1

I renewed my $39 contract around 5 months ago, tried my luck and big success! They updated my $39 plan and included the peace of mind feature free of charge.

I've got the message saved if it'll help anyone.

    • Hi QMC84Y, mind sharing? Keen to give it a try. Cheers

      • +9

        Conversation Part 1

        Conversation Part 2

        Conversation Part 3

Fingers crossed this works for everyone else. The blacked out items are obviously my name, phone no etc

        • Unfortunately it doesn't help, tried to provide them and they can't read them, wanted a transcript of the chat… grrr

        • Are you able to provide us with a transcript number? They can't access links to the screenshot. Thanks

        • @asun88:

When I closed the window I ticked a box for the conversation to be sent via email. Still haven't got it, I'll let you know once/if it comes through.

        • @QMC84Y:

Thanks, heaps! Would love to change to telstra from Optus if I can get peace of mind data for $39.

        • Haha - in a strange turn of events when i tried to get peace of mind offer as you did above, the telstra rep rejected me and said Nope nope nope. But then offered me another 5gb.

          Sure ill take that

So now I have 15gb+5gb bonus +5gb bonus for $39.

That'll do. I have no chance of using that anyway.

    • Thanks for this. I signed up to $59 Go BYO plan on 19 July through the JB deal ($10 monthly credit, $200 gift card). Tried to get them to add the Peace of Mind and they said only for plans from 24 July & wouldn't budge.

They offered to transfer me to the $69 peace of mind plan but wouldn't carry over my $10 monthly credit.

      No deal McGarnigle!

    • No luck for me again, the guy wouldn't budge but it was clear he didn't much option. Though he did mention they were 'working on' updating things again so might have to wait and see.

    • Im talking to telstra and hes playing hardball - he wants your number. He is like this cant be possible! haha

      • No luck here either. Although one consultant offered the $39 plan with POMD included but would need to call sales. Needless to say they weren't able to apply it. Strange no transcripts are being received via email..

        • Takes 24 hours.

I did manage to haggle and get another 5gb. So 25gb now

  • Any details/exclusions for the JB HiFi offer? Wife is currently on Telstra pre-paid, but will sign her up to this if I can. Just wondering if being an existing pre-paid customer would exclude her from this deal. Seem to remember from a previous deal that if you had been a Telstra customer in the preceding 30 days you were precluded from the Telstra offers.
    Anyone…?

    • If she is an existing customer then this deal will not be compatible. Unfortunately being pre paid counts as being an existing customer

    • FWIW, when i signed up at JB Hifi a couple of weeks ago, the dude said you just need to port in the number connected to the plan to qualify. Didn't matter if you were an existing customer overall.

  • I keen getting told that online they dont offer the $10 off??

  • +1

Any good deal that comes with an android phone?my note 5 has like 1-2 weeks left 😣😣

    • Why not get the a refurbished s8 for cheap then grab a BYO plan instead?

      • Because i was hoping to use the $200 gift to buy a phone outright at jb. Everything seems to be overpriced though

  • How long does it take to port out of Telstra so I can port back in and claim this deal?

    • JB HIFI said, 30 days.

  • No $10 discount and no data sharing across contracts.

  • Guys , I got the 10 dollar discount for existing contract renewal. Just asked for it and it was given. I can post the chat log if you like?

    • I think the name is helpful so we can try connect with that person.

      • +2

        Ravindranath

        • Thanks, I'm having no joy at all.

        • @bxpressiv:
Ravindranath was able to help me after trying 3 other operators in online chat without success.
Crazy that different operators can do different stuff…

        • Can't get him, get the same 4 or 5 people. What options did you select in the chat box?

        • +1

@bxpressiv: You ask to speak with him/her

        • +1

After you posted that I jumped on and was going to ask the first rep who happened to be Ravindranath anyway. I've been with Telstra for 20+ years and this is the usual cycle of life trying to get blood from a stone trying to get the current offers. First three reps couldn't do anything but Ravindranath has progressed the order. The usual cycle of life also consists of months of follow up because discounts aren't applied and efforts to get recredited. Fingers crossed.

        • +1

I just went through 3 online chats to no avail, but I found out you need to get someone in the sales area, which Ravindranath is in, that is why he's been able to get the deal done for some!! General helpers on chat don't seem to have the authority, even the billing are is no good, has to be sales department apparently, but makes sense.

He is back on deck from 8am til 9pm today, Sunday. Hope this helps a few out.

    • yes please

  • Awesome, got 200 gift card from jb. Glad I didn't go with the optus deal

  • telstra chat, confirmed that no I am not able to re-contract onto the new $39 deal

they also said that they have seen this before, competitors apparently putting up LIES to make telstra customers angry and leave

    what a load of crap

edit - sent them this link, as well as the chat log links people have posted above, but he said his computer doesnt let him view the chat log screenshots.

  • Bonus $200 JBH HiFi giftcard offered at Dandenong Plaza store. I am sure that it can be negotiated in other stores also.

  • Tried as well as existing customer. Only wanted to offer me $4 off. Here their answer:

    "Thank you for waiting..
per checking your current plan is Mobile Accelerate BYO Plan $45 with 2GB data..
To be honest with you, all new mobile plans are on a discounted price now with a better inclusions..
We can sign you up on BYO S plan 20GB for $45.. You will also get unlimited calls, sms and mms on a 12 months contract. "

Will get port to a pre-paid today and then take a discount offer next week….

  • Great deal with $200 JB gift card

  • Just finished my live chat. Was on $49 for 25gb, now on $39 for 20gb after some haggling. Considering I use only 5-10gb a month, it's a great deal. Thanks OP.

    • How are you guys getting that deal? I've tried twice and they wouldn't give it to me.

      • same

        • @EightImmortals and @lowndes8 I just spoke with online chat (Nilesh) and got a $10 credit on the $49 plan (existing customer). Don't know if I was 'special' but he mentioned something about being a loyal customer for over 10 years. Not sure that matters - perhaps just luck of the draw.

        • @theredrabitt: Looks like luck of the draw, I've been with them a lot longer than that. :)

      • The chat operator said firstly that I wouldn't be able to get the deal. I asked to lodge a complaint, and advised I'd lodge a complaint with the TIO. Chat operator spoke to his/her manager, and then said they could do the deal.

I have been a customer since March 2018. No loyalty. Only other point I raised was my bill payment history (auto debit etc).

  • And it's heating up ,data sharing will back by this time next week. watch this space

    • +1

i have made a note in my calendar.

    • I hope so, I cancelled my two data share sims because they're now useless.

      • Probably not what you're looking for, but I had a data share SIM (with 100Mb on it). I asked nicely and they added 2Gb for free. Not much I realise - but for my purposes that justifies $5pm (previously I wrangled a deal where I got it free - but it only had 100Md data). No data sharing anymore - but at least I keep my data SIM and now it has a few Gb's.

        • TBH I only used it occasionally and it was because it was shared data. Free is free though so good score on your part.

    • its been a week……….

  • This is a great offer! Just to inform everyone that JB Hi Fi is also offering this offer when you port in your number to telstra from a different provider. However you get a BONUS $200 gift card included. This is included with the $10 port in credit and 15gb +5 GB bonus data and unlimited calls and text to Australian numbers. You can't get this deal online, you'll need to head to your nearest JB hi Fi to redeem this offer with the $200 giftcard.

    • What about the $59/month with the international calls? Also can we get the eSim for Apple Watch 3?

      • Hi could you please shed some light on what is the deal re esim for apple watch 3? I'm interested. Thanks!

    • +1

Hi, do you know when this promo ends

    • Can u confirm how jb would know if I ported out less than 30 days ago?

      • When they enter it into the Telstra system you old account will likely come up as closed inside 30 days?

    • Bugger.
No JB store close to me at all….

Not being able you order online is so not 2018…..

  • -4

are these 12 or 24 month plans?

    • +3

I’ll give u a hint…. it’s in the title and all through the description.

      • +1

I count it mentioned 3 times by the OP…
And several times more if you click the link.

  • how long did yours take to provision. I'm with virgin.
can't give me my voucher yet

Just got $10 off via online chat as an existing customer.

Granted, I only ported in 3 days ago so not sure if it made a difference.

Trick is to get supervisor to do it. It’s definitely possible.

  • What's the cheapest way to port out of Telstra and then move back? I'm paying $50 a month for 8GB data on a 2-3 year old BYO contract. They flat out said they won't do any better for me when I chat online or on the phone

      • Thank you very much! So realistically the minimum cost is $10 (or $12 if you just buy the sim in a store) to port out

        • That’s right. But now that I think about it the Kogan deal might be better at $4.90

  • +3

First time I've ever seen a reasonable looking Telstra deal…

    • With the 200 dollar gift card, its probably the best sim card deal ever

    • Cherish the moment!!
      Bookmarks hahaha

  • Damn. I would have paid the extra $3/month and given up 10gb to go on Telstra instead of Optus.

  • Hopefully they will follow up with some decent phone + sim contracts

  • How do you all getting the extra $10off being new customer??

I was at Marrickville store and they plainly told me that they dont do this. They were even showing me $49 for 15gbs and not mentioning the extra 5gb. Until i told them about the extra data promo.

    • I was at Marrickville store and they plainly told me that they dont do this.

I wonder if it’s maybe because the Marrickville store is a franchise, not Telstra owned store?

      • I jumped online and use online chat. The guy gave me $10off and helped me signed up! I have to wait 2-3 days for them to deliver the SIM card to me. Happy with the outcomes, but how odd the deal here is telling us to go in store, but some store do not have the same offer. I guess it is just the extra data that is the official promo, but not $10off for new customer

  • +1

In JBs SA getting the $49 - $10 + $200 giftcard deal. No issues, other than the contract lists 15gb and it's good will for the bonus 5gb per month.

    • What does good will for the bonus 5GB mean?

  • I tried on the phone and on chat and I was unsuccessful. When I mentioned optus' offer, the rep said that Telstra offers quality service and when I mentioned the outages, she blamed that Telstra's outages were caused by the 5G upgrade. Here is the chat: https://imgur.com/uQI38Eo
