how could I install this in a intel inspiron 3650? already has a 1tb hard drive, would it have the cables already attached on the motherboard from factory? and support the ssd without anything else?
not sure about 3650. but usually, you can just swap your 1tb hard drive with the SSD. plug in the same cable connected to your 1tb hard drive.
Lol I doubt he'd want to swap out a 1TB to install a 120Gb

you need additional sata cable if you're not swapping out the 1tb hdd
Unplug the sata cable to DVD drive and plug this in.

I'm thinking of using something similar as a backup drive when travelling - how do you think it compares to a phsical HDD? I'm thinking physical shocks will kill/corrupt a HDD but perhaps ESD would kill/corrupt a SSD?

Compare WD green? I am thinking to change my hdd desktopIt's a crap drive, but probably ok for desktop use.
Quality and performance of this drive is quite a bit better than the WD green
Capacity most likely a lot smaller. Keep the green for stuff like your steam games or whatever but backup anything important from either drive.
