  Good find OP, my company put me on the same 3 month gold, called pilot gold which became gold after I’d earned the 80 status points in that 3 months.

    hi, just wondering, do you know what happens to gold status after the first year, do we need the full 400 points in the second year to maintain gold status?

        To clarify, your post states 80 after the 3 month period - so is it 80 during the 3 month period to secure it for a year, then this still applies for the second year following this?

  I currently use 28 Degrees master card for foreign transactions and overseas travel, with the points and no international transaction fees this seems a better deal than the 28degrees

      Nope, no annual fees, but with the points $99 annual fee can easily be recovered.

  I had this card in March this year. I can't see anything in the terms and conditions that would exclude me from the promotion. Do you think they would let me do this again? The Gold is a great feature as have some Virgin flights coming up. I note that I cut this card off once I was informed it'd be backed by citibank, so given that it was not a citibank underwrited product at the time perhaps it may help my case? Anybody have any thoughts?

  I applied for it with the last targeted offer despite not being targeted for it and received the no annual fee, and had the Velocity Explore Gold come through on Tuesday. So it may not be as targeted as they say.

  This deal is definitely better, though.
