  • Any ideas how business class supplied noise cancelling headsets on Emirates and Etihad compare to these?

    • +35

Yeah, these will shit all over those.

      • +2

        Well calculated.

    • +1

I think phiaton on Singapore air is actually better. I compared both on recent flights and was surprised how good phiaton was

  • +4

I think you have linked a wrong 20% off eBay deal in the description?

    • You're right. My bad.

  • Any idea how these compare to the sony ones below?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-WHH900N-h-ear-on-2-Wireless…

Sony ones are $240 after dicount

    • +1

Bose is much better and the only Sony it is worth comparing is sony wh 1000xm2.

Bose QC35II and Sony WH1000XM2 is probably the best wireless headphones available.

      • This is all subjective as well. Have a look on Youtube, many reviews comparing the h ear on 2's to the WH1000XM2 and the QC35 II's. Best to try them on and see for yourself.

      • Hanging out for Nuraphones

      • +1

I've heard that the 1000MX2's are better than the Bose is terms of everything but comfort. Holding out to grab the XM3's which are rumoured to be announced next month, given a PDF that leaked on Sony's website in July.

    • Hi there, I have both. The sound quality on the Sony's are really good for a tier-2 headset. I found the grip of the Sony's a little tight compared to the Bose and the controls are somewhat flimsy. I much preferred the "real" buttons on the Bose than the "swiping" controls on the WHH900. Still a very good deal though as I paid $268 a couple of weeks ago from Addicted To Audio (argh should have waited!)

  • How long is delivery from Videopro? Need them for a flight in 8 days.

My dad's been wanting a pair.

          Hmmm

      • Come on Videopro…weave your magic and get it to me by next Thursday! :)
        Thanks OP

        • +1

They are usually very good with posting them out soon. Definitely worth calling Videopro requesting if they can process your order as a priority as you have to travel and they will be very handy for a flight.

Also, if you are travelling overseas, don't forget to claim the GST at the airport. This will sweeten the deal even further.

    • +3

I ordered the Sony's off of them a few months ago at 3:00 PM, was on my desk before I got to work the next day at 8:30 AM (Canberra CBD). Absolute witchcraft. I am very satisfied with Videopro's Ebay store.

    • If Aust post estimate correct they will arrive within 48hrs of my order (I’m pretty amazed)

  • +1

Was literally just saying to somebody at work I'm tempted to buy a pair, got back to my desk and saw this deal so had to pull the trigger.

    • +2

What did your colleague say after you told them this?

      • +1

He just laughed at me.. then when I shared the deal with my team mates both of them also bought a pair.

  • +2

Looks like a good price. I was waiting for Sony WH-1000XM2 deals. Very tempted to buy BOSE for this price now…
Sony is better functionally, the ANC is the same.

The major drawbacks both of them are:
Sony - there is a white noise when ANC is on, not much and not irritating, but noticeable (with BOSE you will hear nothing but complete silence)
BOSE - lag, you will notice it playing games or watching movies via Bluetooth, sound will lag behind the video (Sony do not have this problem, or at least much faster)

I can tolerate a little bit of white noise (you don't hear it when music is on anyway), but delay with audio could be an issue, responsiveness of headphones is important to me . So, I better wait for Sony price to drop.

    • +1

If it lags, turn it off and on :))

    • No. Have had 2 pairs and no lag.

      • +2

Oh OK, you must have got the special magical pair that had magical Bluetooth chips with no lag.

    • how bad is the lag? is it unbearable playing games / watching movies?

    • Never ever had an issue, including lag, with my Bose QC35's. Try switching off/on and if persisting, unpair then re-pair to your device. No guarantee…. just Doctor Google advice :)
Also, try the Bose Community forums. Someone else may have had an issue and a fix.

    • +2

I got Sony's first - they were really nice and produced great sound, however I found their design annoying and uncomfortable at times. The touch ear cups were awful for me - everytime you bump them accidentally or rest them on your shoulder around your neck the controls are activated (play/pause/skip etc). The app/software for iOS was terrible. The microphone on them is also shockingly bad - taking phone calls on them is almost impossible. These are probably not issues that you'd notice just checking them out in a store or trying a friends, but after a month or two of having them, it was enough to make me want to get rid of them.

I switched to QC35II about 4 months ago now and have been really happy with that decision. I don't notice any lag watching movies/tv from an iPad or my iPhone, although I haven't tried them for gaming etc. The software support for BOSE is a lot better, they're more comfortable (lighter and more ergonomic) and the manual controls on them work really well. Those features win it for me.

That should at least give you some other things to take into account when choosing.

      • Have you not encountered issues with the microphone on the Bose QC35 II? People in talking to can't hear me properly.

    • I've had the Sony's for about 3 months now (amazing headphones), I have never experienced white noise with ANC. Mine are perfectly quiet (I can hear my blood flow).

    • I use mine everyday to stream over Bluetooth for music and videos. No lag at all.

  • Any good deal for Bose QC25?

    • Was $180 from eBay

  • +1

    B&w PX or this?

    • If not for Sony, I would go for BOSE. BOSE has better ANC than B&W.

    • PX has better sound but not as confortable.

  • +2

I bought two pairs of the sony 1000xm2 from addicted to audio for a Perth to London return flight. Loved them. I get the white noise when they are silent but it never bothered me. Usually had some quite music playing to help me relax anyway. I heard these were better overall except for the comfort. Bose were more breathable/confortable

    • I've tried a bunch of different noise cancelling 'phones over the years, including Senns, Sony and Bose. In terms of comfort, I'd go Bose -> Senn -> Sony. Given that my flights are usually around 25 - 30 hours, it doesn't matter how good the noise cancelling or sound quality is if they aren't comfortable. I can happily wear my QC35s for an entire trip without it causing any discomfort.

  • I am looking to buy a decent pair of headphones under 100 AUD. Bluetooth is not important. MIC is also not important. Want to move away from Ear bud headphones. Noise cancellation is not important since at this price point nothing good will be available.
    Any suggestions?

  • +1

    Well found OP.

    • Cheers.

  • These QC 35's and most other super ANC's always gave me 'ear pressure' when ANC was enabled. I recently got the nuraphones, which doesn't have as much listening pressure, and I am very happy with the double isolation. Although I am already used to the inner ear bud (some other users complain about the inner ear bud being uncomfortable) - it was a good trade off in my personal scenario. In terms of silence, I dare say the double isolation + anc in the nuraphones is equal if not better than the QC 25's I have (I don't have the QC35's for comparison).

PS I have nura referrals for 20% off = $400, 30 day satisfaction return if anyone is interested.

  • +1

There wont be any wh1000xm2 deals because there isn't any discernable stock left. A new model will be announced soon.

  • I have Bose QC15's Is it worth upgrading?

    • If you can benefit from wireless convenience then yes

      • Is the sound quality significantly better? I can put up with the wire but I love the swappable battery feature in the QC15's.

        • Not an audiophile by any means. The sound isn't too dissimilar to the QC15 to me. If you don't mind the cord then I wouldn't swap to QC35's at this price since you're in no rush. There seems to be an opportunity to get these well below $350 a couple of times a year.

    • +2

No. Unless you like spending your money. There were a couple of new features… nothing worth throwing down a few hundred bucks for.
Fantastic headphones b.t.w. VideoPro is a good dealer and this is a fantastic price though.

  • I have owned QC 15 and now QC 25 for few years now. QC 25 is the best travel accessory I own. Amazing headphones for the noise cancelling on those flights.

I never wear them when I am out and about on the streets as I feel too isolated. But with the new QC 35 II, you can control the amount of noise cancelling through the app.

  • Been using for 1 month now and must say excellent headphones.

Not that punchy with bass but still good overall, and voice calls on it are so good!

  • +1

Hav both sony 1000xm2 and Bose QC35ii
    - Sony has noticeably better sound insulation and NC as well as better sounds quality (more bass)
    - Bose is more comfortable, smaller on your head, has better controls and can connect to two devices at once.

In the end, it is hard to pick one over the other and I couldn't decide which to sell so kept both ( my GF can use the other when we are traveling)

    • I bought the QC35II's from a previous sale. Love em with the exception of one thing - there's a distinct lack of bass. Metal/Trance/Hardstyle/EDM doesn't nearly have enough punch. It's a bit better once you mess with EQ's, but still it feels a little less than it should.

      • Out of interest, what device are you using the QC35 with? I noticed something regarding the QC35s bass (distinctly sub-bass), in that if you connect them with an Apple device (AAC), the bass is significantly more pronounced than on my android device using the same file.

        • Sorry I took ages to respond. I use the headphones with my iPhone. I’m playing music from both Spotify and the normal music app. Tried mucking around with the EQ on both, and so far Spotify gets close to the right level of sound. Any suggestions?

  • +1

    Thank you! Finally bought one

    • Well done.

    • Arrived yesterday. I’m experiencing lag issues when connected to my macbook. Turning it off and on seems to resolve it

    • Fark, I updated on Saturday evening already, didn't notice any problems though. O
May you need to set it to use Alexa instead of google assistant to make them break?

      • May you need to set it to use Alexa instead of google assistant to make them break?

No idea. I don't want to try. Bose in the US is happy to send replacement/refurbished to people who have this issue. I don't know if Bose Australia is willing to follow the US or not.

Just keep observing it. Some people found issues, others don't.

Funny thing: Some people updated to 3.1.8 and commented how ANC has improved. Bose replied with "3.1.8 does not have any ANC improvements".

        • Testing it for an hour already with pixel 2xl, not having any issues. Google assistant working fine still. Too lazy to try Alexa. Maybe it's some people powering off while uploading firmware update.

  • If only I could get them delivered in less than a week. Any idea if a bricks & mortar store in Perth would price match the ebay list price?

  • Seems the price has gone back to $460

    • +2

Price is still $368. Use the code PARENT. I just ordered some.

      • +4

Thanks, I'm still amazed I can get out of bed.

  • Anyone see any good deals on the quietcomfort 25?

  • hi this PARENT code doesnt seem to work ? any update would be great thanks

    • What's the error that you're getting? It's working for me.

  • i was about to go buy these for $418 ! if anyone knows the code that works would be great thanks!!

  • Any deals on Bose soundlink II headphones??

  • Getting the following error when applying PARENT code.
'This code can't be applied to your order.'

    • I am getting the same error. Did you get it sorted?

      • I’ve just ordered a pair of the silver ones and I didn’t have any issues with the PARENT code.

  • Um, every pair of the QC35II I have purchased came with an airline adapter??

    • From the link in the OP:

one of the recent Bose QC 35 II deals only to find out that they do not include the Headphones Airline Adapter anymore!

I think you're talking about the QC35 (Version I)? Mine is this version and it came with the adaptor.

  • +1

    Thanks OP,

bought it with cashreward and snag the airline adapter from bose website.

will be going overseas soon so it will be more savings for me.
    cheers!

    • Great to hear! Enjoy the new purchase and enjoy the noise-free flight even more!

  • +2

I needed mine by Thursday as going overseas so got Myer to pricematch Microsoft at $399. Myer also have buy $100 gift card get $10 card free until tomorrow I think, so got for $369. Plus will have TRS at airport :)

  • Love these headphones. Incredible noise cancelling.

    Couple of gotchas though:
Battery is apparently not replaceable. Not even for a fee. When it dies, they're dead.
Can't be powered on while charging (!?!)
Doesn't support the low-latency aptX codec.

  • I ordered mine on 21 Aug and still haven’t changed to Posted on eBay. People above appeared to ordered at pretty much same date and time and received their’s three days later?

When I asked, I just got a broken English response saying to refer to their original message saying it might take 14 business days to come through (3 weeks).

  • I have also ordered mine on 21st August but is still under "posted" I tracked my tracking number given yesterday but is invalid. What is going on with this inefficiency????!! Care to respond @videopro ?

    • How long did it take for the status to change to posted for you? I’m still waiting for status to change.

      • It took 3 days for me but they did email me they are under a busy period of handling sales.

        • That’s pretty good. Hopefully you receive yours soon!

  • +3

    Ordered 21/8
    Arrived today (Melbourne)

  • I am trying to use the code but it says "This code can't be applied to your order."
Trying to buy the silver ones.

    • oh well went to myer and got a price match

      • Can you share the receipt?
I will try to pm with my local myer or ow

    • Code worked on a pair of black ones earlier.

  • OMG! I just missed out on this. Does anyone know how I can get the qc35 for a similar price now?

    • Worth waiting for this price again tbh. It comes around every couple months.
Also I messaged the videopro eBay store and they said they only do 30 days warranty and anything more than that you need to contact the manufacturer.
For a $370 headset I'd expect more than 30days. If I had to pay $400 for a 12month store warranty than I'm going to do that for peace of mind.
