  • Worst network I have ever seen, their internet speed is too pathetic even is places like Sydney CBD, Redfern, Central, Strathfield, Parramatta. I recommend don’t buy, previously I was using Lebara, it also uses Vodafone network but much better than Kogan mobile.

      It's 98c.

      • Doesn't matter. You wouldn't pay $0.98 for something if you knew it sucked and you could pay a bit more for something that worked, especially something like a mobile service.

Having said that, I don't agree with mail2pathi based on my own experiences. I've had no issues with Kogan in Sydney CBD, Redfern, Central, Strathfield. Haven't tried it in Parramatta though. I find Kogan the same as I would find any other telco - even Telstra doesn't feel too different to me. Having said that, could it be because I use a phone without Band 28 and/or I don't tend to go to areas where Telstra has receptions and the others don't?

        • Show me a deal close to 98c for 23GB.

@chickenface: Do you realise I'm not saying it's a bad deal? I'm saying paying $0.98 if you know the service sucks, so it doesn't matter whether it's $1 or $100. If they pay you? Different story. Also. See my pos vote.

          Where's your pos vote?

        • @illumination:

          but the service doesn't suck.

        • @chickenface: That is exactly what I said….

All I was saying was that the price is almost irrelevant if the service sucks, so what you should be saying is that the service doesn't suck. Then you can bring the price into consideration.

And if you haven't realised yet, we're on the same team.

@illumination: same team? Like… turnbull and dutton? =P

  • I am heading away for a week shortly and i am currently on the Aldi Mobile S plan (1.5GB data). I don't reckon that will last me the whole month (including the week away). I have a Moto G6 so is dual SIM.

Just want to confirm that I could buy one of these SIMs and use in the other SIM slot for the next month then cancel it?

    • Yes you can as long as your phone is not network locked to Voda.

    • +2

Kelasen has said yes but you haven't specified where you're going away for a week. Is it in Australia? If so, no issue. If not, then no because this data is for Australian usage only and doesn't have roaming either.

Sorry might sound obvious but just replying with this in case you actually meant overseas…

      • Nah just holidaying in Victoria so all good. Thanks for the replies

  • how to get two of this?

    • +1

      Just buy it separately.

      • +1

just did, thought it would block me or something. I dont plan to use the number anyway, good deal for the data right?

  • Forgot to buy anyone have a spare code they wont use?

    • Same.

        • +1

          That's $4.90
          This is $0.98

          It's not the same. lol.

        • @illumination:

I never claimed it was the same.

So they save $45 and not $49. Better than paying $50.

        • Im asking cause some people (like me) redeemed a bunch then couldn't use them for whatever reason

        • @finbar:

I never claimed it was the same.

Fair. Actually, on second thoughts, it is the same product besides the price and expiry of the voucher, both however, arguably important aspects of the product, in which case you could say, "no it's not the same". Simplistically though, both products are 23GB/month with Kogan Mobile.

There's clearly a reason they're asking for spares. It's probably either because:

          • They're not aware there's a $4.90 option - and if they were, they may have just bought that and not bothered to ask for a spare $0.98 one. In which case your comment helps.
          • They're aware but don't want to spend $4.90 - and clearly don't want to spend $50. So they're seeing if anyone in the community is willing to help out… in which case your comment is not too helpful.

I always assumed it was the latter, hence my initial reply to you.

        • @illumination:

The $4.90 one also has a much later expiry date for the voucher (28th Feb vs 11 Oct) which could be quite advantageous for some people.

        • @finbar: Yep which I pointed out.

          Helps me, that's for sure!

        • @illumination:

          you didn't give dates tho

  • Dang, i forgot to buy this… :S

  • Strange how there is no Expiry date on the card, is that normal?

    • +2

      Yes
The sim packs themselves are worthless and aren't linked to anything.

  • +1

After activating, I found that my voucher has been upsized to 32GB. Thanks Kogan. 32GB of data for less than a dollar is one amazing deal. Ozbargained!

  • just grabbed this in time.. was coming back to get a second one and its over..

  • I take it you turn off auto recharge as soon as you finish setting the sim up?

    • +1

      yep
