As per the title Google home $129 save $70 of RRP, and mini $49 save $30 off RRP.

    I have a Sony Android TV and Chromecast says "Sorry I cant do that yet". Google seem to have massive problems in implementing technologies to work seemlessly.

    I can confirm that turning off a TV works with a chromecast dongle. However, turning on a TV would not work as the chromecast is powered using the TV.

      Some TV's have at least one USB port powered when the TV is in standby. It may require a setting to enable this.

      Powering on/off TV works for me this way.

      I can confirm "google turn TV on" and tv turns on…

      You need to enable HDMI cec on the TV for this to work

        Won't work with built-in Chromecast.

        @Scab: From what I understand, the standby mode can be set to mode that leaves the in-built Chromecast running even when the TV is in standby. From a quick bit of Googling it should be possible to cast something to it and the TV will turn on automatically. But it looks like the option of simply turning the TV on (rather than automatically turning on due to casting) may not be available.

        May be something to look in to if you're not already aware.

    The full-size Home has a way better speaker and far-field mics. No harm in having both though, just waiting for a <$100 price on the Home

  try Officeworks pricematch for 5% off.

  No price beat because they are the same $129 price at Officeworks. You can get it off their eBay store for $122.05 (5% off) though with PENNY5 CODE, same price as Big W with wish gift cards, whichever you prefer.

    Showed at $149 when I checked earlier. Guess they dropped to match.
