    It a privacy lock, so only really useful for internal doors.

    From this image, it appears that you lock by pushing down the button and unlock by either pulling the button or pulling down the door handle.

      thanks. I was trying to work out how to unlock it from the outside when the kids accidentally lock it and then can't get out. cheers! I'm sure it can, I'l have a look in the shop.

        It can definitely be unlocked from the outside.

        If you refer to this image, you can see there's a hole in which you can use a 'pin' to push lock button from the outside.
