doh, just bought the BA07 yesterday.

    good deals though :)

  • +1

@xev do any of these have aptX HD?

    • +1

Hey kudoz. The top two have aptX low latency but not aptX HD.

    • I got BA09 already and I think I better look for that aptX HD version and Blitzwolf BW-BR4 seems to be the right candidate.

  • Do they also do video transmission?

    • +1

      Sorry, just audio.

    • +2

      Huh? Video over BT?

  • +1

Have you got a BT receiver I can plug into my Hi-fi amplifier with red & white RCA male connectors (to AUX in) ? I'd love to be able to beam Spotify from my iPhone to my old school stereo setup.
And is it possible to permanently "charge" the battery leaving the micro USB connected to mains ?

    • +2

Hey MITM, either of the top 2 will do it for you.

They come with 3.5mm Female to 2 RCA Male Cable and can be left permanently connected to the Micro USB cord for power.

  • -3

Sorry, not a fan of reading, what's the advantage of BA09 over BA07?

    • +1

The BA09 has both Optical & 3.5mm connections and can sit on a shelf, or on top of your stereo etc,

The BA07 has only a 3.5mm connection and hangs from the 3.5mm port on your TV, etc.

      • +1

Saw some generic one on ebay, used them and found them worked ok. Would you say this produce much better quality sound?

        • +1

I wouldn't be able to compare, sorry.

  • +5

I gotta take a break from Ozbargain, bought the BA09

    • +2

Me too… I saw how weak you were to resist and I thought I would join you so that we both didn't feel too bad ;)

  • Can I connect x2 (ba09) of these together to transmit audio from one location to another?

    • You should be able to, with one in TX mode and the other in RX mode.

  • Hey Rep- any upcoming deals for earphones again? Got my BH07s and absolutely love them.

    • +1

There will be soon. They only let me know a day or so beforehand so I can prepare the listing for them.

  • +1

Alright I finally bit and bought a BA-09. I stupidly built my last HTPC without checking it had internal Bluetooth audio tx and hopefully plugging this guy into my computer will allow me to use my headphones with limited fuss.

    • FYI you could have just purchased any $2 USB BT dongle off eBay and would have done the same thing…

      • Which ”$2 USB BT dongle off eBay” supports AptX Low Latency?

  • Is anyone using one of these to transmit audio from their TV's 3.5mm audio out? I'm currently running a Avantree Priva II, which works quite well. Would be good to see opinions on this.

    • +2

Owner of Ba09 here. Using the device in transmitter mode to watch tv at night. I pair it with an Avantree audition pro to take advantage of the LLC. No noticable lag. Interesting enough there was also no noticable lag when I paired with my Anker earbud which only supports aptx no LLC.

Be aware that LLC only works in tx mode. You cant buy 2 to run one in tx, the other in rx and use LLC. I tried that hoping to use my wired headset and it didn't work

      • .. LLC only works in tx mode.

        thanks!

  • +1

anyone looking for aptX Low Latency headphones, to go with these.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/401541

All going well I'll post how well they & the TT-BA07 go together on a Tv

    • +1

It works very well for the LLC part. Sound leak is crazy though. I'm unable to use the pair watching tv in the bedroom without waking up my wife

      • I had a quick try, the audio sync is pretty close. (I had the TV blaring too and it was almost the same. Watching with yhe sound turned down and it was good.

I didn't notice any sound bleed, but it was in the dead of night, but you must have had thrm quite loud? Even with them sitting next to me, I could barely hear them.

    • I'm glad you bought a pair that you are happy with :)

      • Cheers, thanks for your help.

Funny thing is my sister wants a pair of noise cancelling headphones for music, so I'll have to keep my eye out to grab them now (doh!)

        • I'm kicking myself not jumping on the Telstra Plantronics deal a few days ago. That one has anc plus aptx LL :(

  • Moved up

  • +1

Just purchased a BA07 to use with my Nintendo Switch :)

    • dont switch already have bluetooth built in?

      • It does, but it’s only utilised for the controllers.

It’s quite ridiculous, someone even made a kickstarter for a Bluetooth adapter that connects to the USB C port on the bottom to be able to use wireless headsets with the Switch. It’s one of the big oversights with the Switch’s functionality IMO.

Assuming this works, other people have used similar devices as a solution for the lack of native Bluetooth audio support :)

        • Its bloody stupid isn't it!
Same as my Sony TV, Bluetooth cor game controllers, but can't be used for audio. What were they thinking? Or right they weren't.

  • Will these work on an airplane to transmit the seat back audio to my Bluetooth headphones?
I bought a eBay special a while back which never worked properly on the plane (kept losing connection)

Other question is are any of these Bluetooth 5 or only 4.1?

    • No Bluetooth 5 on these right now.

Yes they will work well on an airplane but you will need to buy an airplane adapter like these on ebay

Even the BA09, which is the largest, is quite slim and will fit comfortably in your pants pocket.

  • +2

I bought a non TaoTronics branded TaoTronics TT-BA09.

PRO TIP: Connect this to your SONOS then you don't have to use SONOS' slow/horrible app. It uses the Optical in- works perfectly :)

WARNING: this has an insanely loud BEEP when it has low battery.

  • +1

Hi Op, I purchased a aptX low latency Bluetooth device to work with my Bose QC35 then after recieivng the transmitter worked out bose don't support aptX.
Do any of there model have a low latency codec that Bose do support ?

    • I have just had a quick look and it seems that the Bose QC35's don't support low latency at all.

The Bose community forum should be able to provide you with more information and maybe a solution.

      https://community.bose.com/t5/Wireless-Headphones/bd-p/wirel…

    • Unfortunately BOSE don't support aptX low latency. Which is a bugger. Being hardware based, they can't flash an update to support latter either. Pretty silly isn't it.

  • +1

Completely uninformed here but relatively interested in technology.

I was wondering if anyone could give a rundown of what the purpose of these are. I couldn't find a good summary anywhere in a brief search and the comments here seem odd. Is the idea that I want to transmit bluetooth audio to devices that don't support bluetooth essentially like old devices etc.? Or what other use cases exist for this? (Mostly wondering if there's an excuse to buy one for something I'm not aware of is a problem in my life).

    • +1

I use the BT transmitter hooked up to my TV so I can pair it with my QC35s and my partner's Sonys so we can watch movies loudly at night.

    • Yes, they add bluetooth to devices that don't have it.

I have tried the BA09 Bluetooth transmitter/receiver and found it particularly useful. With both optical/SPDIF IN & OUT I can leave it connected to my surround sound system for receiving music from my phone and also connected to my Xbox One for transmitting sound to my Bluetooth headphones. I have it plugged into a USB port on my Xbox to power it. It has a 3.5mm plug as well and RCA Adapters.

  • +3

Bought BA09 a few weeks ago. Really impressed with it. Things I like:

    • Small
    • Pairs with 2 devices at once
    • Pairs easily (i paired with momentums, airpods, westone bluetooth cable)
    • No noticable lag on movies
    • seems to have decent battery life
    • lots of connection options (optical, 3.5mm - both included)
    • can switch from receive to transmit (never tried receive yet though).
  • Has anyone been able to "Rename" the device names? I have two TT-BA07 and it gets confusing every time it connects and says "Connected to TT-BA07".. I don't actually know which one it's actually connected to.

    • +1

I know in the android bluetooth settings you can rename them to whatever you want.

      • I have an iOS device but just out of curiosity, were you able to rename them differently based on TX or RX modes?

      • Actually, In RX mode, I succeeded in renaming my device to MyTT on Windows 10 but upon changing back to TX mode it still using the factory name so I'm guessing it there is really two devices in one.

  • +1

cheaper alternative for BA09 for $19, including support for Bluetooth 5.0
    https://www.zapals.com/bt99-bluetooth-v5-0-transmitter-recei…

    • Yep I was looking at this one too, Comes to $28 AUD but you need to purchase via the app.

Interested in the increased range BT5 offers.

    • Taos aren't the cheapest. Plenty of BT5 devices supporting aptx LLC on eBay or AliExpress for half or even less than half the price.

  • Like a fool, I bought it without applying the promo code. Rushed to buy it half asleep in the morning. Didn't even see the cashback T.T

    • You can ask Amazon to cancel (you need to contact support). I did that on the headphones a few weeks ago and they were great & cancelled overnight. Worth a try

      • I have contacted their Support in good faith. Lets see what they say :/

  • Anything like the TT-BR04 (media control buttons and microphone) with aptX support?

  • Bought a BA01 and it arrived today. I can't get my Galaxy S8 to find it. I've tried everything in the manual, including clearing the pairing history and still no good. Turn it on and it just flashes red and blue non stop. I feel like its faulty… sigh

    • +1

The BA01 device is a transmitter (TX) only (as opposed to BA07 which is both transmitter and receiver).

Do you want to stream audio from your Galaxy S8 to the BA01? If so, you'll need the BA07 (set to RX mode).

      • +1

        Ah that'll do it…. Thanks!

      • +1

Hi TheShinySuitMan, the BA01 is designed to transmit Audio to devices like Speakers and Headphones.

Unfortunately, you can't use your phone as a Bluetooth speaker, it's down to the limitations of phones.
That's why on the Amazon page it says ' (This transmitter can NOT pair with any phones or tablets)'.

If you would like to return it, contact Amazon. As the item is fulfilled by Amazon they control returns for products.
If you have Amazon Prime membership that should make it easier.

      • If you have no use for it, let me know, I'll be happy to buy it off you at a discount ;)

  • The entire week I kept saying, "I'll buy it a little later. I'll buy it a little later." And when I got there, Amazon told me the coupon had just finished. And when I asked if it would ever come back again, they said they didn't know.

    • +1

hey mate, I have just posted a new deal for the Bluetooth Transmitters & Receivers.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/407538

      • +1

Thanks xev. I bought two TT-BA07 at full price after I posted. They were delivered in two days and worked great as a TX/RX pair at an event the following weekend - well worth the money in my opinion.

        • Brilliant! I am very glad that you are happy and thanks for letting me know how they were used, it will help me to better advise members in the future. If I can ever be of any help to you, feel free to send me a message :)
