  • Is the screen tn or ips? The two reviews by notebookcheck and laptopmage say ips but the review by jarrodtech says tn.

    • Looks like IPS from other reviewers. Colors are a bit dull and does not get very bright, maybe jarrodtech mistook this an TN as it would be similar looking.

  • What is everyone’s opinion of MSI laptop durability?

Had an MSI laptop a couple of years ago and plastic hinges started to break. It was sad seeing how they cheaped out on materials for a top end laptop. Knowing what I know now, I would definitely have cited the ACCC’s acts.

I wouldn't go there again. I'm still using a GE40 as my daily driver. Started to fall apart pretty much as soon as the warranty was up. Hinges cracked on both sides, one lifts alarmingly when opening the lid. Case around the USB3 ports broke, possible to short a USB connector if not in straight, and stop the laptop dead.

With all SSD storage, the performance is still good. At the age it's at now, I shouldn't expect much, but it started falling apart after maybe 2 years of use.

    • Has been using MSI GS43VR for one year and a half, no issues whatsoever, love the portability and great screen for gaming/work

  • What/ where is the bonus gaming software package you speak of?
