  • Wow amazing anti climax. Random codes/site wide sales are far better than a birthday sale.

  • +1

Still waiting for my 10% eBay gift cards to come through (4 hours and counting) and now the Nintendo Switch is out of stock…

    • Same :(( hope I can cancel teh gift card order , as I have no point keeping the gift card

      Just revived it sigh

      • Valid for 3 years Andrew. If you cancel and next month we have 10 pct off site wide you will be crying out loud…

        • That's true, but with this sale, the Nintendo Switch was down to $341 (for eBay plus) before using the 10% off gift cards. So it works out to be about $307 after. That's a historic low.

And I just received the gift cards too. About 3 hours too late.

        • +1

@Siuto: and there will be lower new historic low in the future….

        • @dragonindespair: Hopefully sooner rather than later.

        • @Siuto:
Hope the new switch deal is coming shortly :)

        • @andrewnch: I have just sent the Gamesmen a message about the likelihood of restock before the end of the birthday sale. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

        • @andrewnch: actually tbh I kind of regretted too. Nowadays I buy from AliExpress rather than eBay. Much cheaper.

        • @Siuto:
          Not really.

          Amazon Prime sale $315 with:

          %8 shopback cashback (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/391098) +

          $10 credit from prime video (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/388910) +

$20 off Voucher - Amazon Changing International Shipping (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/381343)

brought the switch down to $265 approx.

        • @prxy: Wow, I didn't know about that. I knew about the Amazon Prime sale but I thought the Switch sold out really quickly. Like under an hour or something? Did people actually got it at that price or was it theoretical?

        • @Siuto:
          Thats what I paid :-)

        • @prxy:
Now? Since I bought the ebay gift card, I probably wait for the sale from eBay:(

        • @prxy: I doubt many would be as dedicated as you in getting such a deal.

        • @Siuto:

Wasn't much dedication on my part:

The $20 voucher was automatically emailed.

Lots of people did the prime video trial for many accounts.

And almost everyone on OzB uses either cashrewards or shopback.

I actually missed out on the first round of the switch deal while logging into shopback but got one after joining the waiting list.

@andrewnch: And that's our problem. Even if there are better deals outside of eBay, we have to stick with eBay. If we get the Switch elsewhere then we are still stuck with the money on eBay. I don't doubt I will be able to spend the $400 on eBay over the next 3 years but still I wouldn't like to have that much money tied up to one particular place.

          @Siuto:
I actually think the %10 gift card deal is fantastic.

Pretty soon as others have mentioned there will be the black Friday sales and Christmas, Boxing Day sales are only around 3 months away.

I think you will have plenty of opportunities to snag a great bargain.

          I know I will.

          Cheer Up :-)

        • @Siuto: same I just realised that. I'm after Xiaomi mi Max 3. AliExpress always has 5% cash back and the price is much cheaper than eBay.
Unless someone sell locally, and eBay is doing 10% site wide…..

        • @Siuto:
Yes. I believe it will have better deal in ebay :)

Before I purchased the card, I checked the review.
Someone said it took him 10 mins to receive the code.
I think it was too many ppl to purchase it.

        • @andrewnch: I was about to go into a work meeting when I found out about the deal. I actually experienced the PayPal loop issue and have to purchase the gift cards on my phone after the meeting. If only I managed to buy the gift cards a few hours earlier.

        • @Siuto:
Same I had issues for making payment through PayPal,then I rang PayPal to fix the problem

  • I missed out,

out of curiosity, how many and how long did it take to sell out the qc35s?

    • +1

Aren't they back in stock? The link was showing sold out earlier in the day, but not now?

      • but its showing up as $414, so even if you take 20% off its $331

would much prefer the screaming bargain $296,

        unless im doing it wrong

        • Which 20% code you thinking of. PHOME20 doesn't work on the $414 price.

        • @rippernz:
I thought the original deal. Was 10% off. Plus another 10% if you're a plus memebr

        • @hellohello123: nah. The restock only came down to around $370 after the discount.

    • +1

black were sold out in 20 minutes. Silver took a bit longer.

      • I don't understand what's good about these headphones

        • Just having my qc35 on my daily commute makes it bearable. Its the active noise cancelling. Nuff said.

  • +4

Waited all day! … No 19% off :(

  • +5

It would have been better if they had kept some of the promos from the past few days until today: eg, POINTY, PLUSIT15. After last year, a lot of people were waiting for something to happen today. So it was definitely an anticlimax.
I realise eBay has to balance the books, but it's also important to balance people's expectations. So I don't see why they actually had better sales during the week, but not today.
I'm guessing that quite a few people are now thinking: "I should have used the POINTY or PLUSIT15 codes, instead of waiting for something that didn't happen on the 19th birthday."

  • +2

The offers so limited to few items only… Meh..

  • +2

    So this is it?

  • +3

    What a crap birthday promo…

  • I thought it was to start 10am this morning?
I logged in at 10:15am, all gone?
Still haven't received the gift card ordered last night…

  • +1

Only seems fitting to play this: https://youtu.be/mIsnIt1p978

  • Wished I could use Party 20 alongside….

  • Has anyone received their Nintendo order yet?
