    • I don't think anyone knows mate.

I just bought one 2018 512 GB one myself just now but I didn't use any gift cards. If I use gift cards I can get another extra $70 off from $2159 but it's too much of a hassle for my lazy butt so I just bought it as is.

      • Nice one. Im tempted with the gift cards too, but I am also a lazy arse lol.

    • sale ends tomorrow midnight

      • Thanks mate.

I have the 2017 256gb, if i could go back … Would get the 512gb. System is about 80gb so not much space left, things like iTunes backup of iPhone takes a lot space.

  • What do you touch it for

  • Thanks, a nice upgrade from my 12" MacBook especially to do some light gaming like diablo 3, Starcraft 2 and POE.

  • So annoyed! Missed out on the 512GB Space Gray!!!

Freakn Ebay Gift Cards I ordered this afternoon didnt arrive in time! Time to ask for a refund on the Gift Cards!

    Sucks

    • I also didn't get the gift cards in time but still got the 256gb without the gift cards…hopefully can use the gift cards some other time as they are valid for 3 years..

    • The 256gb version will be enough for most people. Store your files on the cloud and chances are you’ll won’t even use close to 256gb unless you keep lots of videos on your laptop.

      • Does both the 256GB and 512GB come with the same amount of RAM? What is the amount?

  • Dammit, 512GB models out of stock :( Any chance you'll be able to stock them before the sale ends?

      Yes Sydneytec please re stock
      I need 1 too ;)
      512gb space gray

      Bring it on

  • Is the ram upgradeable in the new macbook?

Only if you build to order.

Did everyone else have GST added after purchase? I got a message from sydneytec outlining the invoice as follows:

    Subtotal $2,180.91
    Shipping & Handling $0.00
    GST $218.09
    Grand Total $2,399.00

    • I didn't get an invoice yet but this looks correct, the 10% off code effectively cancels out the GST, so you would've only been charged $2159.

    • Mine says the same.

  • Has anyone got theirs shipped yet?

    • The order status on mine says 'Payment Confirmed'.

    • I felt a bit worried so I did some digging, the seller has a history of putting people’s order on backorder. From the listing 207 units got sold, which seem high for a private business to hold this amount of stock even a couple units got sold ie 20-30 prior.

From the abn provided by the tax invoice cross referring abn registry, they trade with a couple of the same names and a few other phone shops under brilliance p/l. It also that Sydney tec is operating where the old wireless one is at parramatta:111-113 Church St Parramatta NSW 2150.

So I got a feeling they might be overselling and this is a case of false advertising :(

      • I asked them, and this was their reply: "As stated on the listing, we have up to 12 days to deliver this item to you. Since we have over 250+ orders for the MacBook, we are working our hardest to ensure everyone's is dispatched in time."

I probably wouldn't worry too much until the estimated delivery date on eBay.

I don't think they've done anything to be concerned about at this point. They're not going to keep $500,000 worth of MacBook Pro's in stock. They'll source them from their suppliers this week and everyone will get them next week. The delivery dates were clear.. if those dates slip, then I'll be concerned.

I surprisingly received mine today! Space Grey 256gb version

    • did you get a shipping notification? or did it just turn up?

      • No shipping notification, but I got an emailed tax invoice yesterday

  • +1

Mine suppose to be here next week, got it today -)

  • Just got an email saying my order has been shipped. Upon tracking it on the TNT website, it says it should be here by 5 pm today.

    • Just an update, got mine around 10 minutes ago. 2018 512GB Silver.

  • strange, they did not provide tax invoice when I received the parcel, only got 3 page delivery docket from wireless 1, anyone else got same issue? or is digital invoice from ebay/paypal is sufficient for warranty etc?

    • +1

I got mine today (2018 512GB), probably I was few of the first ones to order.
No invoice with the delivery, but received an invoice via email on Monday. Never got a shipment notification, but got the goods today. :)

      • Ok, yeah I don't think delivery docket count as invoice,I'll check my email them.

    • I haven't received mine yet but I found the invoice in my junk mail from Sydneytec Sales

      • Yea, forgot to mention that, I found the invoice in my junk mail as well.

  • Mine (silver 512gb) was delivered to Brisbane this afternoon.. and the delivery notification came an hour later… glad to have it so quick!

  • Mine (Space Grey 256GB 2018) arrived today but had no delivery notification.

Would there be a possibility of taking the unopened box to an apple store and swapping it to a 16GB RAM version by paying the difference?
I know you cannot return to an apple store unless it's bought from an apple store, but if it's unopened would it change things?
Having 16GB would make it the perfect macbook pro!

    • That's quite wishful thinking. Either way, the Apple Store don't do custom configured Macbooks. They're only available by order through the online Apple Store.
