Macbook pro 8GB, 2 x 4GB RAM, Type: 1066MHz DDR3 (PC3-8500) SO-DIMM.

Free shipping chucked into the deal :)

A workmate of mine shared this link and I'd thought that I would share the love too :)

The original price was like US$100++ when my workmate brought it and she mentioned that the price went down and I just brought a pair myself as well with the nice AU to US exchange rate.

p.s. she has confirmed that it is working with her Macbook Pro Core i5, can't give the exact MBP model atm, but it's the new one before the refresh of quad core i7.

It seems to be compatible with the other models of the MBP as well, but you will have to check out the ebay website to see for yourself.

Enjoy :)

  • What Brand is this Ram?

    • Will have to check with my friend on that but if anyone else knows the answer please share :)

  • this wont work in the latest 2011 mbp. It takes pc3-10600

    • Yeah guess it won't but my intent was really for the older gen of MBP.
      Good heads up though :)

Next to your name is a symbol a blue box with a 1 in yellow, this indicates to everyone you are a first time poster. No need to tell people to be nice, often this has the opposite effect.

    Thanks for posting

    • ah… didn't know sorry :P

  • very good deal. RAM is so cheap these days. This RAM is compatible with all unibody MacBook Pros that use DDR3, iMacs and Mac mini's (the latest ones), and of course any notebook of similar specs.

    • The latest MacBook Pros use DDR3, just at a higher speed, as previously mentioned. So not ALL MacBook Pros. I think it's a good deal, but certainly not outstanding.

  • this work on MacBook 5.1 & can it take 8GB?

  • i bought my 8gb 18 months ago for about 10 times this

  • This is a good price deal. I have bought 2 x 4GB RAM from OWC (macsales.com) 1 month ago to upgrade my late 2009 iMac, and it costed me US$112 in total delivered to Australia. Even though I do not know the brand of RAM from OWC, but as long as it works without problems, then it is good RAM for Mac.

  • I know nothing about computers, just a user.

Reading from my 17" MacBook Pro5,2, bought in March 2009 I have:

Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.66 GHz with 4GB 1067 Mhz DDR 3, Bus Speed 1.07 GHz.

My main uses are internet browsing and downloading and heavy Microsoft Excel usage.

Do you think I would see a noticeable improvement if I bought this? Do I only need to add 4gb?

    Thanks.

When using your MacBook Pro, go to Application -> Utilities -> Activity Monitor and check System Memory tab. If you occasionally use more than 80% of total memory, then you will see performance improvement with RAM upgrade. Otherwise, I do not think you will have noticeable improvement from upgrading to 8GB.

Most people upgrade their Mac memory for running Windows or virtual machines inside Mac.

      • Thanks!

  • Looks good….anything close to this price in Australia?

  • Purchased it locally at gocomp for $98.
