$299 seems like the original price. Think with PLUG5 it's $284.05

    • Yep you are right. I just included delivery in the total price. I will change it to reflect the $284.05 + $15 Delivery.

    • You have to account for the $15 delivery fee lol. The title says $299 delivered.

  • Being the same price, which one is the best amongst 3?

I don't game, just a multi-tasker. My PC (i7-4790, 32GB Ram, 512gb 970EVO, and Gigabyte 2GB GTX 750) currently hooks up 4x 1080p monitors. Already installed latest driver for the graphic card.

Switching windows, especially when using Task View in Win10 sometimes lags or has slow response. Also, occasionally all 4 monitors blacked out for a few seconds before back on.

When checking Graphic Card comsumption in Task Manager, it never consumes over 50% usage, usually stablises at about 10-30%. CPU consumption max 30-50%. Max RAM consumption 20GB. SSD still has 60% empty space.

The graphic card and other components are not being overloaded. However, the graphic card is the cheapest/weakest one amongst others, does anyone know if the card in this deal could help fix above issue?

    Thanks

if you dont game there is no point getting this, even Intel graphics can handle multi monitor fine, as with most work places do these days.

      • Thanks. I thought so, that's the reason why when I built my PC 3 years ago, I just went with the cheapest Graphic card, which supports 4 monitors.

It's very annoying with slow responsiveness of using Task View and occasional monitor black-out issue, hence I'm wondering if a more powerful graphic card could handle this multi-monitors set up better.

If any of your monitors are freesync compatible, that’s something the rx 580 will give you that no nvidua card will. It’s wprth it for gaming imo,m

        • holy cow, what setup you running with four monitors?

i run a 3x1 1930*1080 monitors in landscape and find it sufficient. Borderline losing productivity. I do gaming/video and photo editing. That said, i guess I'd run 4 in portrait mode… but bezels…

          • @kid-vhee: I do not game. Just a multi tasker mainly for research so it's very convenient to have one or two monitors for browser, one for MS Word and the other for apps without having to constantly switching windows.

I run 3 in landscape and the 4th one on top of the middle. I'm using AOC monitors which have very small bezel.

    • What ports are you using for the displays? The graphics card you have should be sufficient for multi monitor display though. May be worthwhile posting on a forum for further advice.

      • My Gigabyte 2GB GTX 750 got DVI-I, DVI-D and 2x HDMI. They are what hook up my 4x 1080p monitors.

For DVI-I and DVI-D, I'm using DVI to HDMI adapters.

I also try combining HDMI and Display ports of the motherboard with 2x HDMI of the Grpahic card, this still doesn't fix the issue.

I got the MSI 8gb OC few weeks ago, it's pretty nice as it shuts down the fans when they aren't needed for total silence, you should check with the shop if they are a part of the AMD raise the game promo for 3 free games, as the other ebay shop i purchased from was and they sent the codes through right away.

  • Is there much of an upgrade going from sapphire trixx r9 290 4gb to this Rx 580 8gb on 3440x1440 res? I'd like to at least maintain on medium settings 60fps minimum for games like overwatch, division (division 2), I'm sure dota2 and fortnite I can get higher than medium settings.

I'm just torn on spending 500+ on say a 1080ti that's 1.5yr old tech and 2080 that is as good as the 1080ti but more expensive. The new features on the RTX cards are also anyone's guess if it will become mainstream.

I could prob keep the 290 till the new 7nm cards are out next year but I'd like to to let this 290 go, probably still get around 100 for it.

    • Want to know this as well though my card is gigabyte R9 280 3 gb and 4th gen i5.

Abke to play bf1 or bf5 beta with medium settings and 60fps.
Will this be a big uograde as price is quite good compared to 1070 or 1060

      • What res are you playing on?

        • Full HD

Gosh the 580 will more than do what you want. I have the gigabyte 580 8gb with a Ryzen 1600 and games like you're talking about are over 100fps on max settings. CS GO sits at over 200fps with max settings. The 580 8gb would play your games at 1440p at around 100fps.

      • Good to know. I checked earlier few GPU comparison sites and they were not showing massive improvements, so wanted to confirm.

comapring cs go to bf1 is a bit unrelaistic. cs go is really old,and my laptop runs it on intel graphics 60fps fine.

My rx480 holds bf1 at 60fps on medium running 1080p, but i do fps lock because i run freesync.

That said on benchmark terms, you're looking on par a 1060 or slightly higher depending on the game. the 8gb vram is really nice tho

    • A 290 is still in the performance league of cards like the RX470/570 and GTX 1060 3GB. The main benefits would be lower power consumption, more VRAM, and slightly higher performance, but not drastically so.

Hmm. Thats what the comparison sites were saying. Might stick to it for few months before upgrading the rig.

Can anyone confirm is this store participates in the and promo which includes 3 games?

Wow surprised to see that gamedude is still around, they had a terrible reputation many years ago.

    • I watch many items on eBay that they have, they're not very competitive on price …

      • +1

They used to be great on prices, I built my first PC from them in the day, now I shop at msy or online.

    • I'm surprised they're still around too with all the ACCC and complaints.

I only ever used them for things I didn't need warranty on like case fans lol

thanks OP, i bought the MSI.

  • I end up buying the MSI GTX 1070 Ti though them

  • The strix card is extra long won't fit in my matx case I think

Finally death to Bitcoin. I have waited so long to buy affordable graphics card. Hoping Bitcoin dies by next year or crashes to sub $100 lol.

    • Prices weren't that good pre mining boom

  • Anyones order shipped yet?

  • I just bought this: https://www.ebay.com.au/p/MSI-Radoen-RX-580-Armor-OC-8gb-Gdd…

It seems cheaper than what is posted in this thread.

  • MSI card is cheaper at both PLE and MSY. I managed to score one for $360 pick up which might not be the best ever but it's the best deal on a gpu I could find right now.

    • +1

How?, its $350 at Msy and $299 here +5%?

      • Oml lol haha I thought this was 399!!!
Good thing I didn't pick it up yet or else I'd have kicked myself in the balls. I'm such an idiot.
