Cottee’s cordial @ $2.50 has been awhile. OP thanks for the early notification.

      Making cupboard space :)

    • pure sugar is cheaper

      • The sugar-free variety is also very tasty; much tastier than all the other (sugar-free) brands IMO.

    • My local had a few flavours (Cola and Raspberry) for like $1.68 so I bought heaps but am now so over the flavours after just a few bottles :/

Might be tempted to get more at $2.50 just to change it up a bit 😂

  • What page are the Mirabella LEDs?

NVM, top right of page 33, 9w 800lm cool white. Wonder if they have warm white or daylight at the same price.

    • +1

Just above that, you’ll see it applies to the whole Mirabella range, excluding clearance.

        Good catch, cheers.

  • Thanks OP. It astonishes me that people will pay $2 or $1.50 here for just 300ml Heinz Baked Beans.

What astonishes me is Coles and Woolies sale prices are nearly always more expensive than Aldi's normal prices for the same or equivalent products.

      • +2

What astonishes me is that Aldi isn't everywhere and easily accessible like Coles and Woolies.

        • +3

What astonished me as that people still buy the tasteless 'equivalent' products that Aldi sells

          • @Maq: What astonishes me is Coles and Woolies manage to make us feel like we're getting a good deal while we aren't. :p

          • @Maq: I've not had an issue with their products.

        • There is only so many sites available that are easilly accessible. Coles and Woolworths have had tremendous bargaining power when it comes to shopping centres dictating rents, tenants etc.
One thing I have found is that most Colesworths in our area in shopping centres, where parking is shocking. Aldi, seem to be in areas that have better parking options.

          • @BewareOfThe Dog: They're not even national yet. That was my original point.

            • @Clear: Many of us big city ppl overlook that.

But the point is most products are equivalent and much cheaper than the big two sale prices, and usually less than half price normally.

I know some will argue till the hens come home that the products are not equivalent and that's fine if they're not and you're cool with paying more for coles or woolies, but to see a lot of people I know complain about the cost of living AND only shop at coles and get take out 5 times a week makes me want to jump from a bridge.

Stores know most shoppers pay little attention to product prices and can't remember what they paid last time.

        • +6

Are you saying that shoppers don't like to see prices, because bargains have prices?

        • +1

          This is it.

People can keep about 7 numbers in their head. Think about the bombardment of numbers at the supermarket … :p

        • Thank gawd OzBargainers aren't most shoppers!

          • @dm01: Amen to that. Too competitive.

      • Woolies/Coles pick packers are on $40+ per hour (due to ever increasing EBA and union strikes), where as Aldi sits at $27.. go figure

        • And Aldi workers just sit there, don't speak and make you pack your bags.

          • @Clear: Have you not noticed that they only run extra cashier lanes when there are customers waiting and the rest of the time they are packing, cleaning, etc? The ones at the stores I visit are generally friendly and speak. Also, I don't think that the Woolies and Coles checkout staff are on $40+ per hour, the mention above refers to the picker/ packers which I assume to mean the personal shoppers.

            • +1

@jdr: The $40 /hr is actually casual warehouse staff at the distribution centres.

  • Geez TA it's the weekend - get out and do something!

    • But he (she?) is! TA is helping ozb readers get ripped off a bit less by the big two!

      • I know, right. TA puttin' in da hours so we don' hafta!

      • TA is not JV and we don't know their preferred pronoun.

        But he (she?) is!

If Tightarse were a she, he probably wouldn't be as tight.

  • I was excited for a second when you said Vodka Kit for $15 .

    • +3

I was excited when I saw it was Tightarse and there was oral in the title.

  • Not sure if that $40 Voda kit currently gets you 10GB bonus to 27GB.

    • +1

      Sure does, activate before 18/10.

  • I have bought lynx since they discontinued accelerate.
