        • Updated. Due to my travelling a bit, $89 BYO plan is more suitable for me. I chat to Billing again and requested to change to $89, only if I could get $20 discount (I did mention that I'm having $20 discount on $69 BYO). No question asked, 2 mins later it was all done.

So the rule of thump is being polite and compliment them on their service, then both sides are happy. After all, they are doing their job and granting us $10 doesn't hurt their own pocket.

  • I bought an amaysim sim yesterday morning. Went to JB Hi-Fi store in the evening to get the $45 JB Hi-Fi deal yesterday with $200 gift card. Had a polite chat with the Telstra support today morning and asked her to switch to this plan for $49 and she did it at once without any hassles. I think being polite helps.

  • Thanks OP!

Was on Telstra F&F $59 plan with 15GB Data with the free Samsung S8 from here - which I changed to after first getting a $200 JB voucher from here and have now changed to this new $59 plan with 60gb data. (and I have a $10/month loyalty credit I managed to score as well) Happy days.
