    20% off Dell eBay Store

Good timing. Was looking for a new store…

    • +2

lame jv. eBay store is the correct term to use

      • -2

eBay store is the correct term to use

        lol

"Oh yeah? Well, the jerk store called, and they're running out of you!"

      • +1

"You know Gharvey, the ocean called… They're running out of shrimp"

    • Vintage jv

  • Is this off the current prices?

    • +3

Better be, they better not revert to a higher priced before the 20% off

    • +4

Dell usually does not price fix for these offers from my experience.

      • Agreed they are normally good at keeping prices the same!

  • +1

    Weee waiting for this,
    Hopefully includes the G'series

  • Just in time, was gonna buy something yesterday but held off in case of a sale

  • +2

    Confused G7 or XPS 15???

    Which to choose??

    • +4

What do u need more? I would go for that.

    • +1

      G7 for gaming
      XPS 15 for lightweight.

      • +1

        Alienware.

        • Unless you need the higher specs a G7 is fine for it's price.

        • All the Alienware laptops on sale are R3 (Gen 7 processors)

    • Definitely not xps 15….poor quality build and prone to overheating

  • +2

How long 'til the Dell prebuilt systems include the new Nvidia GPUs?

    • 2080 Max-Q is planned, 2070 is not, according to super secret investigators. So high end turing cards shouldn't be too far off. Considering how little performance is offered by a desktop 2070 for ray tracing, a mobile version probably isn't desirable. The 2060 will not offer RT cores, so you'll see mobile versions of them too.

      • I'm confused, what does mobile have to do with it?

        • Awww shit. Thinking it was for laptops only.

I'm looking at getting a second monitor for my PC. I currently have a Dell U2715H so I'd like something to match but thinking a 24"? What do people think of the Dell U2415 or the Dell P2418D? Is a 2k monitor too much for a 24" screen?

    • +1

I had the P2416D and U2515H. The resolution was perfect for the size.
Also, Dell DFO have some 'As New' U2417H for $239.

      • how do you find that? the Dell DFO page doesn't seem to render properly for me.

    • How are you finding the u2715h? That's what I was planning on going for.

      • Really good monitor!

    • I have 2 x U2415, thinking of buying another 2 to replace my 2 x Samsung BX2440. Hmmm..

    • Is a 2k monitor too much for a 24" screen?

I don't think it is. I have a QHD 25" screen and from typical viewing distance, the ppi is just right. For gaming I can run it at QHD and save processing power and not need to go 4K and take a framerate hit. The added pixels of 4K would be hard to notice at that distance and is a waste of processing power. What you want is a ppi where you can just barely see individual pixels. Any higher than that and you're not getting the most out of your money.

  • Any suggestions for Gaming Laptop, roughly $1200 budget.

    • Don't waste your time. Get a switch. Go buy a proper gaming PC for <$1k :)

      • +2

        Nah, don't console.
I only say gaming because i can run modelling programs on it too.

Also, not sure how you get a proper Gaming PC rig for under 1k.

Alot of the newer titles are kicking in to 1050 recommended.

        • You can absolutely get a decent gaming rig for under 1k.

    • Any of the G3’s the ones at $1599 should come to 1280 with the 20% off
Both the silver and white have a 1050ti.

obviously better value to get the white one if the price stays the same by 3pm

the white one has the better cpu, but no ssd, although it has intel optane.

      • I was also looking at the Inspiron 15 gaming

Are these laptops upgradable ram and SSD

I heard g5 is much better in terms of build quality also but only the i5 with 1060 is within my budget

        • +1

The 8300H is still 4 core 8 thread though, should be plenty for GTX 1060 Max Q pairing.

          • @Beanvee: apparently the 1060 max Q is runs the same as the 1050ti, I own the blue G3 and love it tbh the fingerprint reader is really handy!

            • +1

@Mooncakes: I did some googling when this deal came up, and everything I found put the 1060 Max Q on average 30% ahead of the 1050 Ti

        • I think get the g5 If you can afford the $80 extra coming to $1360 after the discount

As long as you can handle a slightly more bulky laptop it’s worth it for the performance.

If not choose between the other two G3’s for $1280 weighing up mainly ssd vs optane since they have the same gpu, cpu for both is enough for gaming and stuff

        • Here’s the performance gain you get for $80 more

          http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti-vs-N…

          • @adamiscoolization: Interested in your thoughts…

            If we compare between the G3 @ $1280 vs G5 @ $1360
            G3 i7-8750H / 1050 TI = less graphics / better CPU: Gaming 85% Desktop 83% Workstation 70%
            G5 i5-8300H / 1060 = better graphics (+36%) / worse CPU: Gaming 75% Desktop 77% Workstation 54%

            http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-8750H-vs-…

I'd assume the graphics performance on the 1060 would be significant for gaming.
What about for general use? ie, office, bit of photoshoping, a bit of video editing, lightweight gaming?

            Cheers.

I Ended up Purchasing The 27" Type C Screen P2719HC (Also Supports G-Sync)
Stacked it with CashRewards & a Discount Code i had for $170.

All up brought the 389.26 (on Special price) Monitor
    for $219.26

    Bargin

      https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-27-usb-c-monitor-p2719h…

      Not a bad price for 27" 1920x1080 60Hz G-Sync monitor

      • +1

Not sure why you need g-sync on 1080p monitor. Any current GPU should max out the 60 fps at 1080p. Just turn v-sync on. Most cards can do 120+ fps at those resolutions.

    • Don't see it on the eBay store at all?

389.26 isnt bad for a gsync monitor even. An extra 20 would be mint.

      • nar not listed on eBay

        Granted it is only
        Full HD (1080p) 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz
8 ms (normal); 5 ms (fast)

But the Gsync i would typically expect from screens costing 500+

      • sorry that the wrong link

    • What discount code did you get it for $ 170?

Im going to buy it with my eBay coupon

      • It was a single use coupon I got sent after buying the Dell Inspiron 7000 a couple of months back when they were on special on eBay

The curved U3415W comes in at $959.20
    So tempted.
But really, the 27inch flat Dell I have already is probably good enough.

  • Anyone buying a gaming laptop?

    I'm torn between these 3.

    7th Gen i5/8gb/1050ti/128SSD+1TB for $999
    Or
    8th Gen i5/8gb/1050ti/1TB + Optane(?) G3 for $1000+
    Or
    8th Gen i5/8gb/1060for/128SSD+1TB $1350

The 8th Gen Intel are suppose to be alot better. As well as the 1060. Plus SSD instead of Optane. Not sure how effective that is. But $350 difference seems worthy.

  • Any good Gaming PC's?

  • https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-New-Inspiron-Gaming-PC-Desk… ($895)
    Or
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-New-Inspiron-Gaming-PC-Desk… ($999)
    Or
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Inspiron-Gaming-PC-Desktop-Intel… ($1119)

Pros and Cons? First time gaming PC buyer.
Also have a Freesync monitor if it makes any difference. Thanks!

    • The Ryzen with the 570 seems the best value for money. 1060 and Intel processor benchmarks are on par (slightly better performance), wouldn't pay the extra few hundred dollars for that model.

  • Good timing, had an xps 15 ordered but hadn't been sent yet, cancelled the order and ordered from eBay for a few hundred dollar discount

  • Is the Inspiron 11 good enough to output 1080p compressed in x265?

Anyone got any idea about increasing the hard drive space on these babies? Just use an external USB drive?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Inspiron-11-3000-AMD-7th-GE…

    https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-laptops/inspiron-11-300…

    • Do NOT buy them. They are absolute junk!

      Bought one, returned that night!

      • roger that - thanks for the warning

  • None of the xps13 prices appeal to me particularly :(

  • New Dell Inspiron Gaming PC Desktop Intel i7-8700 16GB RAM 128GB SSD GTX 1060 - $1582

I'm assuming this is okay for video editting?

    • Yes but you'll definitely need to install a HDD.

  • +1

U2718Q is at $623 before cashrewards.. Cheapest it's ever been at, great deal!

    • Have had to return 2 within 3 months of buying for same issues. Wouldn't buy another as it is quite common. The people o spoke to at dell knew straight away when I mentioned it.

The colours went all strange all of a sudden.

      • :( Really… been hanging out for this monitor to be discounted.. pulled the trigger… hope I dont have the same issues… lucky they have a good warranty I guess.

      • what sort of issues are they? Can you please share so I can pay attention to it as I have recently bought 2 of these

  • whosh..why they always diong these 20%off sales, havent even unboxed my xps15 from last sale, making me thinking it's already deappreciated..

  • +3

Would an xps 13 be a better choice than a surface book 2?

Looking for a portable windows machine I can use on planes, surf the net, watch movies, very occasional gaming, but majority for office work.

    • Do you need the tablet and stylus function?

I got a Yoga 920 refurb from Grays, its been great. I'd say Yoga 920 is way better than the XPS 13 I got previously. Paid like 1200 for a i7 8550U and 16GB ram.

Surfacebook 2 is awesome but expensive.

      • Don’t need a stylus, as it would be no use for me.

Might look into the 920, thanks for the tip.

      • That's an awesome price. How did you manage that? It's listed as 1600 right now. 20% off deal plus gift cards?

Dell New Inspiron Gaming PC Desktop AMD Ryzen 1700x, 8GB RAM 256GB SSD AMD RX 580 8GB - $1649 With discount = 1319.20

    Inspiron Gaming PC Desktop Intel Core i5-8400 8GB RAM HDD + SSD GTX 1060 6GB - 128 GB $1399 With discount = 1119.20

Honestly, Dell can eat a big bag of D***s. There is no reason the AMD build Should be $200 more than the Intel build.

  • Dell AU site (not the eBay) claims they have 2080Ti's but I couldn't find any in their Alienware Aurora/A51..

… and still waiting for m15 to come out here for ALienware.

  • Anyone actually received any of these purchases yet?

I brought a 27" LCD but it's still in processing, I forgot how long Dell actually takes

    • I bought a G5 laptop, took a week to get an order number and it's still in its first stage !!! Haven't even built it yet!
