V2 from the picture, and the fact V2 has been around for over 2 years.
Would be very unlikely getting a V1 at any retailer at this point; they were phased out years ago.
I can't see visible light bars on the touch pad when I look at the stock whenever they have the sale price in which has made me hesitant to pick them up cos I thought the v2 had to have the light bar? Is that a misconception?
Picture 1 (for the black controller) has the lightbar. If you are doing pickup, either check the model number, or you can check the buttons - v2 are dark grey colour, rather than black.
Looks like v2 to me.
I just meant in store. None of the controllers at the Macarthur Central JB in Brisbane had the bar on the touch pad last time I looked which left me wondering whether v1 stock was still floating around.
@caiphus: You can't see the light bar on top when it's powered off. The easiest way to tell is the V1 controllers come in an all blue box where as the V2 controllers come in a box that is white on top and blue towards the bottom.

The cheapest Nintendo Switch Pro Controller would be from Amazon AU, with cashback and/or Macca's Monopoly Voucher.
They've been discounted quite often I'd say, probably close to more often than not if you aren't fussy on joycon colours. Some of the software is probably harder to get discounted.

I bought one from the Amazon deal, works great with my PS3 in case anyone is wondering. Only thing that doesn't work (so far) is getting to the system menu to quit/shut down. No biggie. Still happy with it with this price compared to fakes or 2nd hand ones (EB wanted $48!)

Yes, you can. It doesn't work with every game though.
Yes, google how to set it up but in short connect with USB, search for Bluetooth devices, disconnect USB, hold share and option to pair, reattach USB and confirm a Wireless Controller. Something like that. Damn I do hate that light bar thing though or whatever it's called.

For anyone interested, Sony now have the 500 Million Limited Edition on sale for $59 from $99.95 (postage is $9). Looks like the cheapest elsewhere for this controller is Big W for $89.
