They did it guys, groceries are on Amazon AU! Never leave your house again! Well at least all the unhealthy processed biscuits, chips and all that good stuff!!

Looks like a decent range out of the gate, lots of good brands and products; Arnott's, Sanitarium, Nestle, Continental, Allens, Milo etc. Most important they have Twisties so don't stress I checked.

Costco meant to be launching soon so I assume this is a preemptive attack.

Can't you find most of these cheaper at Coles/Woolies when on sale or not?

    • +7

When on sale probably, regular prices probably not.

    • +2

Amazon seems to be matching many of the current Coles/Woolies specials.

  • +11

I like how Jatz are $3, Savoys are $4.08 both more expensive then the local IGA.

    • Savoys now $3. Are they more expensive with the extra 25% off?

yeah i'm not impressed at all, minties are listed under chocolate and there's no vegemite sold by amazon, and prices suck

agreed they haven't indexed the products properly, think they've pushed it out as they adjust

      • +1

        price error galore

    • +3

You’re so unimpressed by this you gave the deal a up vote.

I used to rate deals by their votes, but I think (for a long time now) the voting system is getting more and more useless.

Last time I thought this was a post where the deal has already expired when the Op posted it, still got to 100 or thereabouts

      • +1

        oops, thanks, forgot to revoke

  • +15

The prices aren't amazing…but it's pretty incredible that I can order a box of shapes and have it turn up on my doorstep by the weekend, for $2.

    • +2

My boss loves Kingstons & BBQ shapes. I have our half yearly review this Friday arvo.
I'll ask our receptionist to deliver the box to our meeting room. Hoping to turn this $5 investment into a big fat Chrissy bonus. Thanks Amazon!

    • Assuming Australia post does their job. And you don’t have to go to the post office to pick it up, whilst you probably go to do your normal grocery shop lol.

    • Not anymore, they put the price up to $3.

  • Wondering why Coke does not show up under drinks. Most of the pricing is more than half prices even considering 25% discount. But I am sure you can find something to order such as Mei Goreng Hot and Spicy :)

    • +1

because you probably have it filtered with 25% off items, coke is not part of this deal apparently and the price is underwhelming

      • The 6x 1.25L bottles for $9 isn't seem terrible to me at $1.50 a bottle. About par with a good sale. Cases of cans weren't great.

    • Coke is already listed in another department (not added to Amazon as part of this sale). It has been on sale in the past at quite decent prices, which are pretty good value with free delivery on top.

  • +7

Just wish they had Pepsi Max….. come on Amazon you can do it!

    • +3

Finally someone else who has the taste!

      • I liked it when it first came out but over time it has begun to taste really weak and metallic. Maybe I should see a doctor?

        • maybe, did you stop drinking it for a while and come back to it? thats how i lost my taste for coke

    • They sell Coke so they may have an exclusive deal with CCA.

  • +2

I suppose the 25% off might make it decent but otherwise these prices are not good.

  • +1

Are there any hard to find hot sauces?

    • +16

Not sure. They're hard to find.

    • damn i would have bought $50 worth of tabasco ~

      • Tobasco? Hard to find?

        • its not on the AU site

  • As mentioned above, amazon doesn’t aim to be price leading in groceries but have the perception of reasonable prices for convinience.

    • +2

You mean, if this was oz-reasonably-priced this would be a good deal. :)

  • +1

Is there anything you can't usually buy from coles/woolworths?

  • need different flavor cheetos

  • Any actual bargains before 25% off? If not half price from coles/woolies would be better…

    • Red Rock chips look cheaper than even sales prices before the 25% off.

  • +1

Only junk food on this deal?

    • Bit of a mix, yep lots of junk food but some good stuff in there. One brand stands out all organic and seems good for you stuff - Honest to Goodness

      • Thanks cool I do buy that brand. I’ll check their prices.

    • +1

It's mostly stuff with a long shelf life.

  • +1

Serious gripe with the listings, appears no nutritional info provided. Some items have it in the pictures but then a lot don't. Either way should be on the listings.

Is this legal to sell food without providing the nutritional info?

    • Coles/Woolies Online stores rarely show the nutritional info panel for their food. It's annoying, but probably not illegal

  • Damn, just realized that it's the first order…I can't cancel the order now, any idea?

  • I feel like supermarkets are the most affected by Amazon arrival.

    • +1

If this is the best amazon can do I doubt it.

      • Amazon will start small but make it - remember how underwhelmed we were with their first launch?

Grinders Coffee Whole Beans 1kg - $20 before any discounts ($15 with 25% off pantry, + $15 discount if over $50)
    Rich Espresso - https://www.amazon.com.au/Grinders-Coffee-951008-Roasted-Bea…
    Smooth Crema - https://www.amazon.com.au/Grinders-Coffee-951915-Roasted-Bea…

    • Don't think these are included in the selected 25% off. I couldn't get it to work in my cart and its not found in the 25% category either.

  • +1

Some of the prices on bulk goods aren't that bad, particularly with the 31% off (25% + 6% cash rewards).

Ordered a few 5kg bags of dried goods. Probably won't order again outside of a significant promotion though.

    • +2

Maybe pedantic but its not 31% off. Is 25% off the total, then 6% off what's left.

      So $100 would be $70.50, not $69.

  • +1

Wonder how long it will be until Amazon bring Wholefoods to Australia since they are quick go bring Amazon pantry

  • Might have to set myself price alerts for amazon.
    nescafe gold 400g was $24 yesterday, today it’s $16.

    • +1

I think their pricing is a work in progress, assuming was just a rush to get it all listed then they're gonna work on the pricing. Even better would be if they do like with the video games and such start undercutting when others go on sale.

  • These prices are really bad.

  • Definitely a rush job. Lots of potential mistake items. Ie

    6-pack or 18-pack
    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07FCZBLF2/ref=s9_acsd_…

    12-pack for $1.96 (apricots/mulberries/figs)

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Sunny-Fruit-Organic-Dried-Apricots…

  • Tim tams are $2.50 pre discount. Arnott sweet biscuits are only $2 a packet.

Mayvers Super spreads are $3.25, matching woolies pre-25% discount

  • +1

I have just placed a second pantry order and received the 25% discount on both orders. However, the 3 items per person rule was strictly enforced and Amazon reduced the quantity of specific items in my cart based on how many I had ordered in the first order. Amazon appears to be automatically matching Woolworths and Coles prices for many of these items - items which are currently half price at WW/Coles, together with the extra 25% off and free express delivery, are just incredible value.

  • Just want to let any potential customers here know that my order on the 19th October for a few chips, dips and lollies was expected to arrive on 12th November. Yep, just shy of A WHOLE DAMN MONTH to delivery some not-even-that-much-cheaper pantry items. And this is even though all items showed as in stock and with short delivery times expected at the time I ordered. After talking to them via chat today they said the items weren't showing as being in stock correctly and that they fixed it so that the delivery should arrive early November now but come on! What a terrible process! So far, Amazon Pantry sucks so damn hard.

    • You can always cancel the order before it ships at no cost to you.

  • Ordered some soy milk.
Delivered somewhere in VIC instead of TAS.
    10/10 will buy again.

  • is there any way to filter which items the 25% discount applies to as it is only select items.

    • I think it is all grocery from Amazon AU. You could filter seller to Amazon AU.

  • Just confirmed it is only select items. When you click on the item there will be at 25% banner at the bottom

  • +1

What is it with Amazon and their enormous lead times???

I purchased my groceries on 26 October, but they're saying that they won't be dispatch until 19 November. That's three and a half weeks before they'll even look at my order!

It's good old Australian products, so no international shipping involved either. Jeepers!
